Hello everyone. I am so happy to find a video. I had to move from France five years ago from parents' choice. I would of loved to stay there. It has ruined my life for me but I know my parents did it for me. The only thing I can do is mourn, but what good will that do? I guess the only thing for me to do is appreciate the good times I've spent there and to do my best not to forget it. Thank you so much for uploading. I miss France and everything it had to give to me and I am grateful for it.
on our last day in paris my parents were too tired to go to this place and it was too much a risk for me to go alone <=[ we got to see the lady diana flame of liberty memorial though, and a final glimpse of the events at champ elisas
@TlGBC just a little reminder : the Lady Diana Flame, as you call it, is not a memorial to Diana, because it existed at this place before her accident.
my favorite CBD in the world, even thought it doesnt have buildings as tall as HK, Frankfurt, Dubai, Singapore, etc. But the architecture and urbanism are top notch!
A diferencia de otros centros financieros, la défense tiene ésa belleza que tiene, prácticamente toda Francia, la clase y la belleza, casi son palpables en esa bellísima ville.
What a great video! I love La Defense and you did a terrific job of filming the entire area. Excellent choice of song too. If you live in the Paris area, hopefully you'll do more of these little films. Well done!
@Cosairman Also, look at an aerial photo of La Defense.
The entire area surrounding La Defense is totally obliterated by roads. By creating a purely pedestrian environment in the center, the rest of the area is sacrificed as primarily automotive, a terrible place to walk.
I definitely prefer the old center of Paris, where there is a mix of cars and pedestrians (with some plazas and parks only for people), and not these two extremes.
porque yo había leído muchas veces que La Défense era muy superior a la City, y a Canary Wharf, y París sigue siendo la ciudad más importante de Europa, y por mucho... Y Londres.... Que se quede con su niebla.
My dad passed away four years ago and he was simply the greatest guy I've ever know. I've spent the past year trying to find out exactly where his body is -- it was donated to science and they promptly misidentified it along the way. We're finishing a DNA analysis right now in fact.

How come La Defense is not as famous as Canary Wharf in London even though the architecture is much more stylish
mikelabahn 1 year ago
@mikelabahn my be, but it's the biggest buisness district in all europe and much more bigger than Canary Wharf (surface of offices)

@Helliconian but is protected by 2 famas-toting guards

@TlGBC
this memorial was there long before the death of Diana. It is not for her.

Just wondering as to why there is no roads and cars running by on the Pedestrian level. How does La Defense manage for traffic flows?
Cheers!

All the transportation links are underground.

@Cosairman there is a big bypass around the district, and a big railstation, the subway... and parkcars under towers!
maaacs33 2 months ago
@maaacs33 The French as usual just trying to be different.
I was there in 1994 and 2001,just visiting. Impressed by the buildings but have to agree with samthelima's comment of the 2 extremes used here.
Thank you for your comment,
Cheers!

Canary Wharf est meilleur que La Defense. Mais je prefere Paris a Londres.
