  • Betelguese would end as a hypernova, which is thousands of times bigger than a supernova.

  • she's gonna blow!

  • love the video really good

  • very interesting video thanks

  • That's amazing how scientists & astronomers know Betelgeuse is only a few million years old.

  • Very enjoyable thank you

  • love the video man

  • This can be seen with the naked eye as a small or tiny red dot to the left off Orion not much to see though.

  • Yes its time will come sometime in 2012 2013 keep on eye on Orion the explosion will occur around that area just to the left of orion you wont miss it. Its been classed as our second sun for a few months possibly even years. The second largest star in the galaxy is about to explode maybe into a blackhole. But its to far away for any damage just enjoy the show if theres souls there well there time is up :(.

  • @BlackWidowZ93 I read that it can happen as soon as 2012 or the next million years. We would see the explosion as a second Sun for a few weeks or months. I also read that Earth is too far away to be affected. I never came across anything saying it'd be a black hole. :/

  • @animegirl0091 Most suns turn in dwarfs or black holes.after they die but honestly i think it shall be a spectacular site. This Tue/Wed and Thursday YU55 asteroid is making a pass of the earth and the moon. Around 315,000Klm away from us 53 earth diameters. See more google YU55 it poses no threat to us :).

  • @animegirl0091 I once read that if a supernova happened within 50 light years distance ( 300 million million miles ) of earth, it would whipe out earth, and that it would be like every person in the world having strapped to them their own personal atomic bomb. Don`t know how true that is. Thankfully Betelgeuse is far off enough for us not to be blown to pieces.

  • Yeah, betelgeuse is a red giant.

  • I dont believe betlejuice is gigantic brain

  • Great vid thumbs up

  • @Zran85: Thanks a lot. Greetings from Bogotá, Thilo.
