srv had one old beat up stratocaster he used to own with... maybe use a few other, no major effects, and he had the best tone and sound ever... nuff said, having 25 guitars dont make any difference, people are dying in Africa, and he has about a million dollars worth of guitars for a 2 hour show
@bluesBro18 first- thats what stevie wanted to use and that was his decision because that worked for him. secondly- I agree maybe having a million dollars worth of guitars is maybe a bit mad but if Joe wants to spend that money on what he likes who are we to question.
@harrymosesgk yeah, but it just shows how messed up peoples priorities are dont ya think? not dissing joes playing, he's probally the best modern blues guitarist
@bluesBro18 oh dont get me wrong i think some people have daft priorities like spending £50000 on a watch i think thats daft, but i think the fact he spent it on that for which he creates his art and music is justifiable because it allows him to achieve the sound and textures which he wishes to create
@bluesBro18 SRV had several old beat up Stratocasters and a whole host of other guitars no one ever knew about. Not to mention one hell of an impressive amp collection. When he died he had 25+ guitars in his posession.
@bluesBro18 i think he said he has like 181 guitars in 2008 so 3 years later he could have like 200 thats crazy but i mean he has no kids no wife and a lot of money so let him spend it how he wants
@bluesBro18 If you care so much about the people in Africa why don't you donate most of your money to some charity for it. Either do that or stop finding things to complain about because he makes more money than you ever will.
Back on topic, I fucking LOVE that candy apple blue. I'm not much for the color blue because it always reminds me of wal-mart haha, but that particular shade is something gibson should look into as an option for all of their les pauls and even their ES guitars.
@yekshemesh4alig You have to use a separate capo-only guitar when playing in these types of gigs. You want to move seamlessly from one song to the next, and putting on a capo usually requires you to re-tune the guitar, as the capo presses the strings down unevenly. This process would only take a minute or so but would distract from what the audience came to see.
@yekshemesh4alig - I take it you don't play gigs? the capo is for a guitar thats in open tuning, you don't want to spend five minutes pissing the audience off between songs so just go for the guitar thats set up properly, whats the problem with that?
@ZachDRUMMOND its a reference to peter green's les paul (gary moore used to own it too). they flipped the magnet and wiring of the neckpickup so when you have the bridge and neck pickup on at the same time, you get an out of phase sound. I use it a lot on my les pauls. cool thing: rolling down the volume of the neck or bridge pickup makes it 'stock' again.
@branch1234 yeah I know I spelled it wrong, but I saw it after I posted it so you don't have to be a jackass about it, btw I'm not even english or american!!!
@branch1234 You remind me of that paper clip that would pop up on the microsoft word programs, unnecessary and somewhat irritating. If you really came here to watch the video, watch the video man. You don't have to criticize everyone just because they may not be FLUENT IN ENGLISH.
@branch1234 Well when he said he wasn't American, I think that was a hint to his inability to write the language correctly. I could call you an idiot for believing everyone speaks and writes English fluently.
An Aspartame addict whose most traumatic life experience was buying a guitar on eBay is a world-renowned "blues" musician?! How times have changed. . .
I wouldn't be that crazy. Cue, JB taking a real '59 standard on the road. You are that crazy.

Instead of using a capo on a guitar he already has, he buys a new guitar to use only with capo.
Ridiculous
