  • holy shit did he really just put his finger there!?

  • These are great videos! A pity there haven't been any for a while. They are clear, concise and easy to follow. Excellent job. Please make more!

  • Great video. I've been trying to figure out how to do this, thanks for the help! If you're still looking for ideas for other videos I'd be interested in a video showing dovetail joinery. Thanks again.

  • Im doing the same kind of work right now... Can you tell me, what kind of a price would you ask for a piece like that? Im using black walnut 4/4 and australian lacewood in the same way you are. Thank you, and ytou have a good way of teaching. :)

  • Thanks for posting this!!

  • great video, I want to make a custom made Burial Flag Display case, for my Father, A WW II & Korean war Vet, I know I could buy one, but Not mean as much as one made by his son. And the miter joints in a contrasting wood would look great. Was that black walnut you used? anyway a well made video-kudos

  • @Bowfinger6383

Sounds like that will be a nice project, I made a cabinet to hold my Grandfather's Purple Heart last year, turned out nice. Used full and half blind dove-tails. For a flag case the spline miter joint is perfect. We also have my G-Fathers Burial Flag, I should make one also. As for the wood, you nailed it! Black Walnut, air dried. The splines I used were cherry, which contrast nice. The max contrast would be achieved using holly, a very white wood. Thanks for the comment!

  • @driepintenbier It may be decorative but it is what holds the piece together, its a joint.

  • @kentperduewoodworks I'm going to try it, you save me a dovetail jig. Looks like finger joints.

  • Great video!.... explained very thoroughly. Thanks for the help!

  • Very good but its not a joint rather a inlay decoration.

  • Very helpful. Tomorrow I will head into the chop and give this a try!

  • Nice!

  • Great videos. Cannot wait to build and try the jig.
