  • why is it so hard to find video's of good silambam practitioners.

i seen people in real life at the festivals who do this martial art more stronger and confidently, but i can't find any good video's online

  • Where can I get this on DVD?

  • Where it all started. INDIA !!! :)

  • the liberty and the instinct of moves feel in that vid...beautiful ancestral martial art...respect

  • the intro is like a minute long, wtf

  • indian martial arts are trippy as phuck / urumi = coolest sword ever to me

  • AHHH ITS A FURRY AT 3:10 imagine him kickin your ass lol

  • 3:12 Dude, WTF

  • Question. How does Silambam differ from Kalaripayattu?

  • well, for starters.. kalaripayattu is from kerela, and silambam from tamilnadu, altho it is said that both martial arts share similar origins...

and also, silambam emphasizes the usage of the staff, whereas kalari is about staffs, knives, barehands...

altho there are also more martial arts from tamil nadu that use hands and vital points etc.

    they are kuthuvarisai and varmakalai

  • these people would suc if they didnt have a weapon

  • looks like u are a kid

for silambam is not just a solo art for that matter

one needs to learn kuthu varisai, varmam, and meditation along with silambam

a weapon is just an extention of human body if one does not know how to use his body how could u handle a weapon

    i feel sorry for u

  • I see that Silambam influenced the far East weaponry arts such as Shaolin Kung Fu and Kobudo.

  • 3:11?!?! WTF!?! 555+

  • Its great I wuld like to come in India to learn silambam

  • some of that looked like kung fu.

  • it is the origin of Kung Fu, Bodhidharma was from this area of India, he trained the Shaolin monks.

  • @UFMD1

The association of Bodhidharma with martial arts only becomes widespread as a result of the 19041907 serialization of the novel The Travels of Lao Ts'an in Illustrated Fiction Magazine.[52]

Bodhidharma and martial art isnt fact retard its a "folk" tale that was bullshitted like it was history and it all came from a damn fiction magazine..before the 1900s the only thing Bodhidharma was known for was preaching CHAN/ZEN....haha your origin of martial arts came from a fiction magazine lmao

  • @anhkhoinguyen Sauce?

  • In the south Indian state of Kerala, Bodhidharma is remembered as both a kalari master and as the "father of Han-Chinese Shaolin Fist".[50] The Yi Jin Jing also credits Shaolin kungfu to Bodhidharma. All this would make him an important influence on Asian martial arts in general. However, both the "attribution of Shaolin boxing" to Bodhidharma and the authenticity of the Yi Jin Jing itself have been discredited by modern historians as a part of popular fiction and not grounded historical fact.

  • Only if you steal the art and rename it "Kungfu".

  • hmm...nice and cool

  • nice

  • beautiful

  • waiting eagerly for your kuthuvarsai clips.
