Although you can spend the money and time installing and partitioning a K&N conical intake system, K&N actually recommends (in the 96-99 Gen 3 Vulcans, @ least) that you can put in one of their reusable filters in your stock box...It won't boost your HP or give you that "SHO Growl" you're looking for, but it will sure help in air/fuel mix efficiency, and not wreak havoc on your O2 sensor...

Come on! I'm a Mexican I don't even use zip ties to modify anything. I also own a 2006 Ford Taurus and I don't have any mods on it and it picks up faster than your car any day. You should have spent your money wisely and fixed your spark plug wire instead.
oh i forgot the ford flexx is pretty nice too. Ford makes some decent cars dont they make jaguar now? or are they owned by someone else. heck you sleep one day you miss out on who owns whos ass
Your Vulcan makes my 2001 seem tired (180,000+ miles). It never gets over 5400rpm when floored...I can definitely hear the intake, and I think it sounds good! Thumbs up!
@captFrost not on that turd of a car. you wanna try and modify a taurus at least get the DOHC 3.0 i'd bet big money that your lil cold air intake didn't add ANY horsepower. the vulcan motor is a rental car special. and u go out rompin on it and it'll pop soon enough, and puttin a cold air intake on a base model taurus is RICE. enjoy those 17sec 1/4 mile runs.
I agree with you. This guy is lucky if he got at least 2 horses out. I've got the DOHC Taurus and trust me, when we put the right aftermarket filter and pipe, you'll get a little more get up and better roar.
@captFrost no you can but you're nowhere near ricing out anything. all you did was add an intake. Definition of a ricer is spending money on things that dont add to the performance
@captFrost oh yes you can lol! put a fart can on it and some gay paint job and some wheel covers alot of chrome bull shit a wing and some stick on hood vents and your 3/4 of the way to a ricer lol rice doesnt have to be japenese its the crap you pile in and on to the car that turns it from Nice to Rice!
@benzbubblecat Thats a common misconception of ricers. Putting aftermarktet parts on a car does not mean your a ricer. A ricer is someone who will put a fart can on a car and claim to get a 50 HP increase. Putting a cold air intake on a taurus is not ricer, unless he claims the intake adds a ton of HP when it doenst and tries to act like its a sports car.
That does sound better, I have a subwoffer for my speakers so I can really hear how it sounds. It sounds really good, I think you should put flowmasters on it, then people will look at you when you go by and say that is a sick taurus! You probably won't hear a taurus that sounds like yours lmao

i think Taurus is a good car. seriously its very popular as well as the escape, explorer, expedition and the sexy ass MUSTANG

if you had a spark plug wire problem then it would misfire, so you are probably running lean.

are you actually trying to rice out a taurus?
benzbubblecat 2 years ago
you cant rice out an american car.
captFrost 2 years ago
yes you absolutely can.
benzbubblecat 2 years ago
In any case I'm not. There are many advantages of having an intake opposed to a stock air filter.
