I always thought PJ's lyrics were more meaningful and their musical style more consistent than their contemporaries. Easily the most professional grunge band

I might be comin' off a little bias, but I think Mike McCready is one of the top guitarists of my generation. ..With Pearl Jam you can see glimpses of it, but I feel he was being held way back from what his capabilities were, which became more evident on each new album. BUT, when Mad Season formed I felt like he really got to put his talent on display. Especially on November Hotel. Thanks for the music you have made Mike!!! Plus Pearl Jam rocks....

And then there's the backstage video of Kurt and Eddie slowdancing and hugging after the MTV VMAS in 92. And don't ever speak about Kurt like that! He deserves a lot more respect!

@mattdsgone Kurt also said in an interview that he came to realize that people who were fans of Nirvana were also fans of Pearl Jam so it was pointless to continue any feud....I don't think he was still in total agreement with his earlier opinion that PJs music was all that bad....PJs guitarist also said that Kurt's critique of them early on really had an effect and made them put a lot more thought into the music they were making. He credited Kurt for at least part of their success....

Nirvana was a shit band, Led by a Self-counscious man who had no faith in his fans, thought they misunderstood his music, suffered from depression and hated being a subject of "Fame" His "Voice" that everyone loves comes from a medical condition he battled all his life. he was addicted to almost every drug on the planet which fucked up more than enough of its share of tours (Cousins show was cancelled due to it) Keeps those same 3 songs off my fucking radio. Eddie is God compared to Kurt.
