1. They are excited not aggressive, a aggressive dog would not go into a bow position. 2. Any dog will bark at someone on the otherside of their fence, often because of boredom, dogs get bored when they don't get exercised. I help professional trainers train obeidence classes and I train shelter dogs as well, I am not allowed to handle shelter dogs unless I can read body language and figure out how a dog feels and know when its going to react.

@magicalcrazyness - Since I shot this video, I witnessed the owner beating these dogs. One escaped on two occasions. The first time, she went after my daughter but the owner was right there to call her back. The second time she held me at bay for 20 minutes, lunging at me while I held her off with my boot heel. I moved out of the neighborhood but heard that the police later busted the dogs' owner for drug-dealing and the dogs had to be put down. They WERE aggressive dogs.

Thats still not aggression though. =/ You would not be able to hold off a truley aggressive dog, the dog would of went straight for you without stopping and bite on. You said the dogs were being beatin which makes a dog very nervous are scared. Not all scared dogs will hide some feel like they need to stick up for themselves.

You cannot say if the dogs are aggressive or not just from this video, you'd have to see what the stimulus is, their reactions in different environments, etc. Some dogs are "Fence reactive" meaning they'll bark and lunge in an aggressive manner, but can be taken out in public to be perfectly friendly. Not to sound rude, but that's not what makes someone creditable. Although research can help. Like I said earlier, there isn't a real way to say what these dogs are without further investigation and seeing the reactions to different things,etc. There are different types of aggression as well. They very well could be fearful or nervous around people, but feel the need to protect themselves which can become aggression yes, but a lot of times a dog that is reacting in defense won't go straight in for the bite unless you push them, but will show behavior displayed in the video. :) Kind of hard to explain with the limited space provided to comment.

Here's the POSTSCRIPT folks: I moved out. I just talked to the new owner of my house who told me that the neighbors' house got raided by the police for selling drugs. The occupants are presumed in jail and the dogs are gone. We figure they were probably destroyed by animal control since they were trained to be vicious.

Thanks for the advice about the shrink. That would help me with my rage about a neighbor who beats his dogs and ties them up with a flimsy rope so they occasionally escape. They may enjoy playing but trust me, the impulse is not friendly when it comes to the neighbors. I have the toothmarks to prove it. I actually did read up on dogs and discovered that eye contact with an aggressive dog is a bad idea. When it attacked me, I had maintained eye contact thinking that was the thing to do.

I would suggest, you go to the local authorities and file a claim...let them know what your neighbor does to those poor dogs and hopefully the dogs can be saved from that unjustifiable torture they are being inflicted by an uncary dog owner....wish you luck.

Yep. Already happened. One of the dogs held me at bay for 25 minutes, barking and lunging. I called both animal control and and City Inspections. I shot the video to show them how serious the situation is. The dogs are trained to be vicious as well. Most likely drug dealers.  Thanks for the comment
