They have added Sulphites into nearly all of our processed foods as well as drinks including wine and beer. Sulphites can cause an acute asthma attack for some people. For others it can cause mood swings (angry drunk), intolerance, heart palpatations, high blood pressure and agression. A great mix to have with alcohol!

Sulfites are definitely a natural by-product of fermentation, so there is no such thing a 'sulphite-free wine'; this is not the issue, the problem under scrutiny is the addition of SO2 in the vineyard as well as in the winery at different phases of the winemaking process. Adding sulphur is a recent phenomenon, it is poison to us, it is not necessary in wine.

A friend of mine had severe headaches after a glass of wine. After she switched to low sulfide on doctors advice the headaches went away.

It's worth trying low sulfide wines to see if that might help with headaches. It could be alot of things, but trying this solution is very reasonable and easy.

They probably take more out than just sulfites in those wines. Like I said before, people get more headaches off red wine than white, in spite of the fact that red wine has less sulfites.

I didn't believe your take on it so I googled it.

The problem with blaming sulfites is: white wine actually contains more sulfites than red. As for cheap "industrial wines" being worse, there's no real data to prove that. You are definitely less likely to get a headache from expensive red wine because you probably cant afford enough of it to get a headache--probably a better explanation.

High levels of sulfites can cause cancer and other health problems. They should not be adding it to wine and some brands don't.

peope who don't want to get cancer care. Wake up, sun does not cause cancer, unless you stay out too long over many years. But sulfides are extremely dangerous and cancer causing. Besides if you buy organic wine it does not have added Sulfites. You might need some wine. You sound angry. All I made was a point - and some people do care. So grow up and get a grip. If you did not care - you would not be so angry. Why don't you just drink you wine nd shut up!
