i'm sent sraight back to an oldies nighter at the Casino, me, Gaz Kellet,Tony Livesy Eddie Ryan, Jed Rudd ( a Wheel legend ) and Snap, Billy Harrison and Steve Hewitt. it only seems like a few months ago, but it was more like 35/36 years ago. I can still picture what and were we where stood when Dee dees anthem was played. Life is but a fleeting minute. BRILLIANT SOUND.
Watched/listened to this in the morning and oddly after nearly 4 years of being on YouTube this song/video is no longer available as of this evening. Guess these old hags don't want anyone to know that they once had talent.
That Drinkard gene pool is something else! Dionne's son David is following in his mom & auntie's footsteps with some gorgeous smooth jazz stylings, while his brother is wasting time with rap/hip-hop music. My view is that Dee Dee's voice was nowhere near the high register of her "Aunt Sis" but was "earthier" than sister Dionne's.
She sounds pretty damn good. I never knew that Dionne's sister sang. Why didn't they give her some good new material to sing so she could have made a name for herself.
Absolutely brilliant uptempo that I just love all the time and play out whenever I get chance - but there so many brilliant ballads that she recorded. Another of the true godesses of soul has gone to heaven
this morning [Saturday] at 10:00 my beloved sister Dee Dee made her transition..............she went peacefully of which i am grateful.
again i must say thank you to all that held her in prayer..............knowing that God has given her a merciful release from the pain she suffered with for so very long has been my comfort.
all that is left to say is that God has another incredible voice to add to His angelic choir.
My condolences to Dee Dee's family. A beautiful voice she and her sister Dionne has. I hope to hear more from Dionne and my prayers go out to the family
Dee Dee is doing well, working a lot with Dionne, and you can finally hear her on CD with Dionne's new gospel album"Why We Sing"..She continues to do the backing vocal for Dionne's one woman show "Music and Me"
I'm so glad I found this posting! Great arrangement that would've floored Petula Clark and Tony Hatch! Now this version SHOULD have been a hit single! Mercury Records sure didn't know what they had in Dee Dee.
This is nice. I love Dee Dee also. Although I don't remember it when it was out, as a kid I thought that "When Love Slips Away" was one of the best songs in the world....You know what? I still do.
I love this version, but it is just another Mercury recording that they could not handle the distortion of her performance on vinyl ..and boy did that anger her
Please let her know that there are many, many people who were not even born when these songs were around. But we have become really big fans!! Love her!
Dee Dee Warwick sound like her sister Dionne Warwick and looks like her too a bit

My favorite Dee Dee song is "Yours Until Tomorrow"

You can hear Dionne in Whitney and Cissy and vice versa. Dee Dee has a different sound altogether, quite unique. Shame she neve became a big star.

I actually hear Cissy in Dee Dee voice. Dee Dee has also been quoted that Cissy really pushed her to sing!!
