why do so many people, including this reviewer, refer to this as a "beginner camera"? I've been shopping around for almost a year now and am about to pull the trigger on this camera. I'm an experienced amateur looking for a compact and versatile dslr. I've looked at the D90, Pentax K7 and others and am really impressed with the 620. Build quality feels great way better than consumer Canons and just about any Sony and more compact than a Nikon. I also am a snob about feel and this feels great!
Would you be so kind as to explain a little further? Which features indicate it as a an entry level camera? Any illumination you can shed would be appreciated.
Great review. But size comparisons is very important. I would have liked to see also a size comparison of this camera with the Rebel series, 40D, 5D, D700, or any other camera that you have so we can get a full idea of size. For those of us who don't own a D90 it's a little hard to compare. Also, next time can you please remove the lens covers when doing size comparison of lenses? I really enjoy all your reviews. Thanks. Otherwise it's a great and detailed review.
shutter sound is annoying to you? thats what makes an slr ans SLR...

@cromagno I think it is due to the ease of use, feature set and also its position in Olympus product line up.

yes it is bundled with the camera.

If you bought the camera with 2 kit lenses, the pancake is not included. You have to buy it separately.
