Play through the game a bit and then, afterward, think back on some of the events of the game. I'm not saying you're wrong, there are numerous interpretations one can make of this game, but it's not altogether out of the question to question Wendy's part in all of this just as much as the other girls.

Man I love this game- not the game ITSELF, per se, but its plot.

The woman, Martha, being beaten is, in many ways, one of the key events to the greater, overall plot behind the game (there's the game itself, and then there's the story, the "actual" events, which the game hints at going on in the background). Sort of like Fight Club- you can watch that movie literally, or you can read into it and see that there was more involved than immediately meets the eye. ;)

My understanding is that it only *officially* banned in England, whereas its sale was merely discouraged elsewhere (particularly in France) in Europe. PAL formated copies do exist, however, so your best bet would be to find the game on an auction site such as eBay.

Perhaps she's an ancestor of Crazy Eddie from Silent Hill 2. The creepy thing is that they both look alike don't you think?
