  • Always love a tribute. I think I'll learn this song, today.

  • you suck so does that song

  • A) "Without giving anything away, there's a scene"... [proceeds to give whole scene away].

    B) "He's one of the people who inspired me to become an actor myself, in the first place" Well congratulations, superstar

    C) If you want to write your own lyrics that's great, I suggest rhyming might be a good idea

    D) "you suck faggot face" = sheer creative brilliance

  • @NearbyPlovis A) I have a record deal and am on the radio, so fuck off and die. B) I didn't make the lyrics up. That's Billy Idol's version. C) You are uneducated and know nothing of music. D) I make money in entertainment, but enjoy your 9-5, troll fag.

  • @NearbyPlovis ... and I never claimed to be a "superstar" troll. However, I have had roles in major motion Pictures. I was in Jerry Maguire with Tom Cruise, Wolf Wars with Craig Willis, Love with Kelly Preston and currently am shooting a bio pic playing Robin Wilson, lead singer of Gin Blossoms. So go back to your chicken frying job at KFC and fuck off! Troll on someone else's channel, douche-fuck!

  • @MrPrestoTV You just reminded me of a joke indie rockers used to tell each other years ago, haven't thought about it in ages Q: How do you make a gin blossom? A: 1 part Replacements, 4 parts water . Thanks for brightening up my day w/ humor. PS: Calling people "fag" like that right off the top of your head is some devastatingly witty improv did you learn that in acting class? Paul Newman would be proud.

  • @NearbyPlovis ..... I really don't see how being a successful actor or playing the part in a movie of a band that you don't like makes me any less successful. Your dim attempts to be witty have grown old and moldy, troll. Now fry my chicken at KFC for 7.39 an hour. I may have you personally cator it to me in my trailer. Ass-pirate. Of course you'd be a critic. Those who can't do either teach or become critics. I challenge you this, tough guy! Make a video. Do a monologue. Play a song. Let's see.

  • @NearbyPlovis ... come on! Come on, baby bitch! I challenge you to do a monologue or play a song and sing on guitar. Send it to me. Post it as a video response! Let's see your talents! So critical of others. Probably just a 14 year old that has a rich grandma who gave him a camera anyways. Let's see what YOU got! If you can't do it, SHUT THE FUCK UP! Because you are a douche who clearly thinks he is witty. You would be wrong, Princess.

  • @MrPrestoTV Calm down, macho stud man. I only came to your page not to troll but to see a tribute to Paul Newman and one of my favorite scenes from one of the best movies ever made. Instead I found this. Like I said before: I am sure Newman would be proud of the way you keep calling people fags on your page—that'll take you far in the arts, bro. I am not 14, I don't fry chicken, and I don't have a rich grandma, although I wish you did. Good luck with your creative endeavors.

  • @NearbyPlovis ... I'm not excited. I noticed you ducked around the challenge! That's what I thought. .. . and if you didn't notice, I don't need a rich grandma. I have a record contract and am on the radio. Don't believe me, go to my channel and watch the videos of the radio interviews. Take care, sucker. Way to epic fail on the trolling.

  • @MrPrestoTV Haha now it's MY "epic fail" is it? Dude read all the comments on this video, then look up the word "denial." Re: your "challenge" (ha!) I guess I gotta explain to you that I am on YouTube already. I didn't put myself there but other people did, dig? My last thought to you is congratulations on not using the word "fag" that last time—your learning curve is alarmingly slow, but it's nice to see you making progress. Keep working at it and you'll be alright. Good night forever now.

  • @NearbyPlovis .l. and to get the last word, those that cannot do, TROLL or be critics. You are a sad little man. Continue to hide behind your computer and criticize others for their on 'the fly attempts.' I stated that at the begining of the video, DOUCHE! It was not rehearsed. It was a video made as soon as I found out. You are a FAG. Ohhhhh... Paul is SOOO sad now. I relapsed just to call YOU a fag. or.... TROLL. I've wasted enough time and hopefully you know you are a douche, Fuck off now. :)

  • It's good man, don't listen to people who just bitch. If they don't like your version all they need to do is move on. I Feel the same way about Cool hand Luke being one of the greatest movies ever made and that seen was perfection of the art of movie making.

  • If You Know The Film That Well You Would Know Paul Newman Dosent Start The Song Fast Ya Clown....ANd your Pishhhh lol

  • that is so shit

  • Sorry for all the hate out there, Mr. Presto. I think you explain and play your version just fine. There are a gazillion different versions...the one with heart is the one Paul's character played in the movie.

  • Good job friend! heres the "original lyrics" to this classic!.."i dont care if it rains or freezes, as long as i got my plastic Jesus, sittin, on the dashboard of my car, comes in colors, pink & pleasant, glows in the dark, cause its irredescent, take with u, when u travel far...so get urself a sweet madonna, dressed in rhinestones, and sittin on a, pedestal, of abalone shell, goin 90 & i aint scary, cause i got the virgin mary, assuring me that i wont go to hell..repeat..so get yourself...etc)

  • hahahahha i like yo bobble head Jesus lol

  • ARE YOU KIDDING!?!?!?! DUDE NOT THE SONG ARRGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVED THE MOVIE AND THE SONG WTF IS HE SINGING!?!?!?! UGH UTTER FAIL!!!!!

  • Hey I liked it Guy...Paul would have too...

  • Those of you who criticise should upload your own versions...nice one mate..enjoyed it.

  • Hahaha holy fuck FAIL!

  • Great job dude, fitting tribute. Paul just smiled down that mischievous smile of his!

  • ok i really have to agree...if your going to do a cover of a movie song to tribute the amazing acting and singing from him in that movie...then at least do the same fucking song. your just like all these other wanna be's out there that think its cool to add their own flair to it nobody wants to hear that i mean come on...on another note i liked the tune you played but your about 100 miles off the movie version...so maybe next time you really should watch the movie right before you do this

  • @mastercueartist .... can you hear, douchebag? I said that I did it on the morning Paul Newman died... it was a rush on the fly tribute. .... jackass. It is the same fuckin' song, it just has different words. ... dumbass.

  • @mastercueartist Though I think Mastercueartist has a point, He's very rude.

I like what you did here and this is a creative tribute, but I would have loved to hear you play the movie version.

Were on youtube dude, I just watched the movie scene before I saw this. You could do that too. So to be clear I mean no offense because you are talented and this was good! but please post a tribute playing the real song :)

  • Ignore what everybody is saying. U showed that u cared and it's fine. Good job!

  • Take this video down.

  • Cmon dude make an effort. Watch the film again and put some feeling in there

  • I don't understand all the negative comments here. This was a great cover, especially for a first shot. I love this song. First time I watched Cool Hand Luke, it wasn't really holding my attention until Paul played this song. Then, I couldn't think of anything else. Great film. Good job.

  • Well Done

  • Gr8, I used to sking "momma's gona get me a plastic jesus and put it on my shelf

  • what...the...fuck?

  • Nice tribute; sincere, honest, meaningful, enjoyed the memory. Thanks. Loon

  • Jesus, man. What was I supposed to do? Watch the movie over and over again?

  • There is like 20 different versions of the lyrics man, don't worry about what that troll says. You did awesome.

  • that would have been at least a half ass effort.

  • Looks like a lot of hard living has really taken a toll on kid rock.

  • the white Katt Williams

  • Luke Coolhand and particularly this scene is very special for me. Thanks a lot for the video

  • I retract my last statement. Paul Newman is a pimp. Billy Idol is kind of a douche. You were nowhere close to the version from the movie which is way better. Thanks for sharing, though.

  • Paul Newman and Billy Idol are both pimps.

  • I will post you a box of Kleenex you god dam wanker.

  • my plastic jesus is real nifty, cause he only cost a dollar fifty, ridin on the dash board of my car...going over roads wet or muddy, i ain't scared cause i got my buddy...ridin' on the dash board of my car...hehee...but you did make a valiant effort to honor mr. newman...peace, brother.

  • thats not the words to that song..you freak

  • I like this! Cool Hand Luke is my favorite movie too and I love that song. Paul Newman was my favorite actor. I also love the Dylan poster. Well done and thanks!

  • I could be wrong, but do you have another account where you have some Hendrix covers posted?

  • No, not me on the Hendrix man. Wish it was. haha I have one of those faces though. I look like everyone.

  • @MrPrestoTV he wasn't saying you looked like Hendrix you moron.

  • My dad has the same plastic Jesus thing on the dashboard of his truck

  • That was a nice thing to do. Well done.

  • I imagine you'd put down a wicked high-pitch country music back-up vocal (which must be called something much simpler in technical terms).

And nice tribute to Mr. Newman, you did him honor. That was a weird day.

  • this dude sucks

  • you suck faggot face!

  • @MrPrestoTV "you suck faggot face" - real professional

  • That is kinda harsh.

  • Thanks for that. I appreciate your appreciation. I'm a nobody, but Cool Hand Luke is one of my top five favorite movies.

  • You're not a nobody. Everybody is a somebody.

  • And nobody's everbody.

  • are you stoned??

  • ...probably. I usually am.

  • ur heart was in the right place my friend my only advice would be to slow the tempo down and drop the tone but thats just my opinion, also maybe you should think about ur replys to ur comments before u post them cos ur coming off extremely aggresive, you should just laugh at all the negative people disrespecting ur hard work there no marks, but anyways i appreciate what you did there well done

  • this broughttears to my eyes. go paul newman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s youve got a new subscriber

  • Cool Dylan poster in the background.

  • Thanks man. I found that in a record store called Disc Go Round in Scottsdale AZ about ten years ago. The store has shut down now, but I'm sure you can find it online somwhere. I would google "Bob Dylan The Times They Are A- Changin' poster." Rock on. Take care and thanks for watching.

  • this is pretty good for your first try, and your not alone on that song getting stuck in your head, but its a good song to get stuck in your head

  • there are a million verses to this tune, thanks for leading me to find more of them...

  • Was a little fast other than that was good

  • stopped listening after about 20 seconds. I wanted to hear the plastic Jesus song. Not some bloke loving the sound of his own voice

  • enjoyed The Video. Good Job!!

  • I hope so you illiterate muthafucka! If you want some, come and get some. I'll make you my prison house bitch! That's right. Bitch, bitch!

  • Im gunna track you down wiv my mafia crew just be aware you should be prepared to be burried alive!

  • ha u fuckin saddo if i was you id hang my self u should be ashamed look at the state of yu fuckin virgin if i was your mum id whap you round the mouth till i couldnt see your lips go get a fuckin lyf!!

  • I'd learn some grammar you fuckin' wanker. Where the fuck are you from??? England. Dickhead. Learn to spell and come back when you are smarter, dumbshit, peckerhead.

  • good for the first time but it was too fast for newmans version

  • Even without practice I liked your version better than the Billy Idol version, but not as much as the Paul Newman version.

  • Thank you! That is constructive critisism and I do appriciate that. At least you didn't insult me.

  • Suck a big fucking cock, everyone who is criticizing. Lets see your prick-asses post some vids....oops, oh right, you don't have the talent. Go suck some more of Simon Cowell's dick. Good job, Presto...keep it up.

  • Thanks friend. I don't let negative opinions affect me much. Critics haft to criticize because they can't do anything themselves. Talent is void. Therefore they must belittle others to feel better about themselves. Thanks for the kind words.

  • but u are doing a tribute to one of the greatest movies ever made. a little practice might have been in order.

  • I did it on the day that he died because I wanted to. Let's see your version smart ass. I beg you! PLEASE! Go get a guitar and let me see your version. Assholes like you give shitty, negative opinions because you actually have no talent to display. Sad... really ... it is.

  • nice, i had never thought about what the guitar version of this song might sound like, but u did very good.

when i say this, i mean it to be constructive criticism. i know this was just a spur of the moment sort of thing, but in the future, when making tributes cover songs (especially ones as epic as Plastic Jesus from the movie cool hand luke) your best bet is to do a little research and maybe a little practice. again i mean this in a constructive way so dont get upset,

  • Worry not friend. I appriciate your opinion and I thank you for watching. I appriciate constructive criticism. I only yell via text to the rude people. I did do it spur of the moment because I wanted it to be a real moment from my heart. I didn't want it to look rehearsed. Just real and now.

  • omg lol -face palm- billy idols version. I know wat ur talking about tho we had to watch cool hand luke in english 10th grade, made that much of an impression on me just that scene alone that i remember a day in school lol im 24 now. long time ago. I favortied this, even tho it's billy's version. LOL actually gj his version is much more to remember or read (: gj tho. my b/f made me scroll up to watch u we were both very impressed and im happy that some1 else was hit in the same way by that movie

  • Only a song that comes from a certain place in one's heart, sorry but I don't hear it here.

  • Well, I'll tell ya what ass clown. I challenge you to go get a guitar, turn on your web cam and record yourself playing the same song on the very first try, like I did. We can let the viewers decide what is what. I know you won't though because you are a chicken shit that can't do, so criticizes others. Seriously, oh please play me a song! Come on chicken shit.

  • That was GREAT! A tad robtic, but very enjoyable. Nobody can eat a hundred eggs!

  • Dude!!! Cut me some slack! I played it for the first time on camera. No practice. Just rollin' for the first try!

  • I was going to negotiate you a gig at my bar,but if this is your reaction to critique...LOL..I'm kiddin' I barely own the shirt on my back...but really I loved it. ;)

  • we shall all miss him. a very thoughtful tribute; good luck with your career.

  • Thank you.

  • Thanks for a Great Tribute to this MAN among men. Good job.

  • Good job!

  • I belive Cool Hand Luke's lyrics are more simple. But you're absolutely right, it is a very powerfull sequence and it's a lovely tribute to sing and remember this song.

As for us, Paul Newman will always be the young and smiling character from this movie.

  • he was and is the man

  • cool hand luke is the best movie of all time. God i loved paul newman

  • Me too bro. Hope I didn't butcher this song too badly. My heart was in the right place.

  • He was fantastic all the way up into the twilight years of his career. John Rooney in 'Road To Perdition' is one of my favorite Newman characters. The final 10 minutes of 'The Hustler' is some of the most intense acting ever put to celluloid.

My favorite line from HUD: "Happens to everyone. Nobody makes it outta life alive."

  • agreed. HUD was AMAZING!!!!

  • thanks for the video man. Ive been bummed out too ever since I heard the news. Watching these tributes makes it a little less painful. ~RIP Newman

  • Thanks for watching. That's what I love about youtube. We can laugh together, make fun of things together and we can grieve together too in times of tragedy or loss. Thank you for watching.
