I've had like a hundred hamsters, and they love aspen chips. I have noticed that wood chips can cause repiratory issues, such as pnuemonia, lung infections and occationally respiratory failure.
My blizzard is extremely crazy as well, he's bitten me many times and has drew blood too. I have a feeling that my blizzard has brain problems, he could have been incubated at too high of a temperature causing brain disfunction. Anyway, liked the video!
@TheLizardLover Oooh, thanks for the heads up. Would there be anything to look out for before it gets bad, or will they just get sick right away? These don't seem to be dusty or anything, so idk :/
Ya, I wonder if it's just a genetic thing that all blizzards have mental issues... Hmm...
@birdboy93 Often times it's not only dust that causes respratory problems, but also the smell itself. It can cause damage over time, and can easily develope into pnuemonia. I know that aspen chips have little dust, but still have it. The chips are okay, but not suggested for prolonged usage. The ideal substrate for a captive leopard gecko would be paper towels or real floor tiles. I find slate to be very nice looking and heat cunductive.
@herp94 Yes, I do know that nearly all blizzards are odd in some wya or another, may they be fearful or aggresive, but I have proof that my blizzard, Agro, has genetic problems. To start, I do think he was incubated at a high temperature, one of his children died of a birth defect, as did one of his grand children. One of his sons was born with short toes on his feet, and I think that that is excellent proof of Agro being 'crazy' in the way of his odd behavior.
Nice to see an up-date!! Cool that your turtles get to stay outside whiel the wheather is nice maybe if you have time you can make a vid of their outside set-up
@emostars71 Ya, thanks. I'll make a vid of the turtles soon. They're enclosures aren't very special. Just your basic tub and basking spot, but they like it
It dosent cut your leo at all right? ive heard some things about wood chips but this seems actually pretty good

@ajlista1 No, if they're the small ones. I have them back on paper towels tho. They seem to be more alert this way and it's less of a hassle.
