This is a Loram C21 rail grinder and is used by Network Rail to reprofile the rail top and to eliminate Gauge Corner Cracking (The cause of the Hatfield Crash) Helps trains to sit correctly on the rail surface.
The Level Crossing concerned is not an automatic crossing. It's operated by a Crossing Keeper. In the daytimet he audible warning is on but at night it goes off.
i saw one of them 5 past 2 in the morning outside my house it was there for about 20 mins it woke me up :( i saw it AGAIN at 6:00 running past i was woke up AGAIN great alarm clock lol
I thought it was those silly little yellow things that usually did that! Now I know what that thing I've seen in Tonbridge does when no one is looking! Great video clip of something very unusual.

Is this work done on a possession? Its just that the rear vehicle is showing white lights instead of red

Don't these automatic train crossing signals sound an alarm when a train approaches the crossing?

Well hello there. Maybe you should move away from the railway line then. I bet the railway was there before your house was, lol.

Hi, thanks for your comment on my video. T
The crossing siren has been turned off at night as there is no need for it to be sounding during the early hours of the morning.
steadyeddy69uk 3 years ago
I thought that was the reason.

Since when does a level crossing have no warning siren? Or did they just turn it off because it is night time and would wake up the neighbours, lol.
