I just dont know why I keep gettin my heart broken. I just dont want to get my heart broken again. I just dont want to feel the pain. I dont want to feel nothing.
I used this song as inspiration to me way back in 89-90 when I was searching for a girl I lost that I heard ran into some trouble. I found her eventually, but we didn't last.
As someone who owns every studio album by Chicago, I can say that (in my opinion of course) this track is not only Chicago's best ballad but one of the best of all time.
Yes, better than "If You Leave Me Now"! herecy, eh? ;-)
The thing is, this song is great... but the video really sucks.... it amazes me that in 1988, there such "cool" computer FX.. HAHAHA!! I love Chicago... And this song... thans for posting.
this has got to be the worst music video ever!!! how could they go from making videos like "Along Comes A Woman" and "Stay The Night" off of 17 to this garbage on an album that gave them another #1 and other top 40s??? Couldn't afford it? I don't get it.
i know how u feel that's all we could do, i was broken hearted not too long ago but we have to try our best to 4get n let go........ It's very painful but hey, just look on the bright side something is good stores 4 us n maybe we'll get the love n respect that we r looking 4. just put a smile on ur face everytym u remember those good tyms u have shared. so it doesnt hurt mch. we'll be ok!!!!!
Move on and remember the goodtimes. There is love on the horizon we just have to let it come to us. We will find that special person who show us how we can feel happy again. Yes we will okay and the pain can finally go away.
Shelterdog, this is why CHicago is such a underated band. After Cetera chicago still had tons of hits including: Look Away #1 , Will u still love me? #3, What kind of man will I be? #5, Your not alone #10 and of course his video hit #3. Not bad for such a band that lost Terry Kath and Cetera won't you say?
This song hit #3? Damn, Chicago had a lot of luck in the post Peter Cetera era. A lot of crappy songs of their's charted quite high on the charts after Cetera left in 1985 up until 1990. I'm not saying this is a crappy song, but to hit #3... Wow.
I never saw this video before YouTube...now I know why. Chicago's a great band, but they have a history of lousy music videos, except for "Along Comes A Woman", one of the best ever IMO.
I'd add the video to "Stay The Night" as well. If not just to get a laugh at seeing Peter Cetera getting flung off of cars. "Along Comes A Woman" was just an awesome combination of classic movies with a great band!
I just dont know why I keep gettin my heart broken. I just dont want to get my heart broken again. I just dont want to feel the pain. I dont want to feel nothing.

That looks like a video that you would have seen on MTV's first day.

Yikes! I can see why the studio pulled the video. For a late 80's song, the video had the look of early 80's corniness.

Hey, does anyone have the video for We can last forever? That is, if Chicago did a video for that tune.
