Grew up there (CA). Moved to Atlanta in '97. Am a small biz owner and would much rather run a business here than back there. Miss the ocean, In N Out and my fam & friends there but it's such a pain to be in business there. Besides, the entertainment industry has been spending a lot more time & money here in ATL since Gov. Perdue signed the tax legislation wooing the L.A. studios back to the capital of the South. Music biz (my side) ain't exactly doing so bad either! Ha! Props to NV!!!

Hard to believe a state like CA is destitute with all it has going for it--farming, tech industry, entertainment, tourist biz,  world class wine growers, beautiful natural parks and resources, outstanding medical and educational facilities. Must be idiots in the statehouse, and senators and reps they sent to Congress.

Regarding the farming...that was until the environmentalists shut the water off to the San Joquin Valley. The central valley of California now has a 40% unemployment rate.

You are spot on. It WAS the people from New York, NJ, Mass and the others from the Northeast who ruined California. Barbara Boxer anyone? Yes I moved from another state as well but it was from Virgina and I'm much more conservative than the Native Born Californian. My wife is from CA and that's why we stay. It's also interesting to note that the Northeast Liberals are ruining the state of VA as well . What is it about NY, NJ, Mass etc that makes them so toxic?

I'm Californian. This was like a great movie. I laughed, I cried, I walked away with a new perspective of my home. And how it has been ruined by progressive reform and unaffordable government. I love my home and don't want to leave. It seems inevitable though; as such I will probably be one of the last conservatives to leave. I'll make sure to hit the lights on my way out.
