thanks! still an inconvenient feature, but good to know there's a fix to a major problem.

You can change the settings to lock and hold so you don't have to keep your finger on the AE-L button the entire time.

@jpbturbo oh nice! so that would be "custom setting menu", "c Timers/AE Lock", "c1 Shutter-release button AE-L" and set that to ON, correct?
