What I love about this is it's actually entirely sensible and rational for Abed's character to do this. So great, and easily one of the best episodes of the entire series.
Abed has trouble reading people? He himself admitted he was a REALLY good judge of character, to the point where he was able to predict the future amazingly accurately. True, he has trouble interacting with people, but that's not really the same thing...
@TheComixkid2099 when I saw the episode I thought he meant he had a trouble really understanding the emotions of people and their actions. It's easy to see that point A will go to point B but knowing why is a different ballpark. At least that's what I got from it, I've yet to see all the episodes so I might be wrong.
@iluvdrakeandjosh Abed has Aspergers, it's been discussed in more than one episode. Aspergers people often get very confused by emotional cues and can't read other peoples' emotional states. It's often very frustrating for them because analytically they can know things are going on around them that others get instinctively, but they have no idea what any of it means. An Aspergers person could still make good decisions about a person's character, they would just do so more analytically.

When britta mocks jeffs fancy undergarments for his date, saying he usually wears something else, abed goes "what do you mean usually?" hinting they've been sleeping together. When they are cutting apart peirce's cast, abed says they've gone too far and "this is how villians are created" hinting that he would become a villian in the finale.
@mpickerel Well i do and i don't, when they both were playing at the same time i watched Big Bang Theory and watch Community online since NBC is AWESOME like that and let's you play their shows online. But Big Bang Theory doesn't since it's owned by Warner Bros. So it pays to watch two of the best shows on earth! =D
