  • CBS, ''the kings of advertising''. Thank god for my ad block.

  • they are safer in zoos than in the wild where they get killed for thier ivory and are running out of natural habitat...

  • their trunks are so trippy

  • I want one.

  • The calf need to be "trained" by a human being. Such a sad, sad life :(

  • a lot of responsibility and poop

  • 1:50... "i just wanna hug"

  • So cute !

  • i wish i had a nose like that):

  • i petted a baby elephant once :3

  • I LOVE ELEPHANTS!

  • #CUTE!

  • At the start of the video, the guy in a baseball cap standing to the left behind the reporter looks like a far right republican, he is thinking, I could shot that with my rifle. I see it in his eyes.

  • thats cute

  • This makes me hate people. I'm all for taking in endangered animals to help bring the species back. but at the extent of human amusement?

I hate people. I will not go to a zoo.

  • @DrPoon human amusement is such a minor part of what a zoo does. Modern zoos are scientific institutions dedicated to conservational biology. Often the property and facilities exposed to the public comprise a tiny fraction of the zoo itself. Donations and admission to zoos go towards the care of the animals as well as global conservation efforts that many of these modern zoos partake in. Therefore...fuck you.

  • @SuperSizeThis

    Clearly you cannot read.

  • jealous?

i'm thinking residual instinctive anxiety about strangers getting so close to the cub.

  • jackson is the MAN & the babies are adorable. and yes elephants don't belong in zoos, but at least this is a whole community. it's really terrible when they're alone.

  • So I had one as a pet...I need an excavator, for a pooper scooper.

and how many peanuts a day?

  • Angelina and Zuri are such cuties, they're so animated!

  • These beautiful animals shouldnt be kept in zoos and "trained". They should live in their natural habitat. This is just so wrong.

  • does zoo trim elephants tusks?? if so that is horrible and disgusting..

  • @2012NewEarth you dumbass, dont comment on what you dont know. They trim them for their own safety... that and to make awesome ivory pistol grips for new york pimps.

  • @lexmark136 trimming an elephant tusks isn't for THEIR safety. It's simply cruel to the animal.

  • lol 4:38 baby elephant runs into zookeeper

  • @Drew123210 this video only lasts 4.08 min

  • Around 3:00 is just lovely. The mother is making sure not to step on her baby whose all underneath her playing

  • Yeah you're right it's very precious :)

  • eeeee!!!!! i love their ears!

  • Hooray ! Elephants, great post, thanks!

  • NICE!!!

  • Loll 2:36 bang!

  • Elephants do NOT belong in zoos.

  • @areageek They belong in piles of skin.

  • @areageek no animal does! but its better then them being killed!!!!

  • @AnimalActivist247

They're being killed in the wild coz people are busy supporting zoos rather than wildlife parks.

  • @veggiewarriors

..No. It's because they are wiping out other species by destroying the vegetation. They are being shot in the WILD. That has nothing to do with zoos or wildlife parks, what we need to do is work on giving males vasectomies so there is a smaller population that can survive in harmony with the other indigenous species, until then, we have them in zoos, which are better then having dead elephants.

  • @Ilovezebrapig

That is the kind of propaganda that zoos use to brainwash people into supporting them. As an African, I can tell you that elephants are not being shot in every place they inhabit on the planet. There are protected reserves in Africa where elephants are thriving, living in harmony with other species. Such places are not able to expand and invest more into their outreach and translocation programs because people are donating $ to zoos rather than the reserves.

    Zoos= slow death

  • @veggiewarriors

I don't hear that sort of thing from zoos, I hear them from African park officials talking about ways to move the ones being hunted and about the damage being caused, and it's not brainwashing when you're aware. They aren't living in peace with other species though, they are destroying all sorts of plant species and that destroys food for the others, we need to try and stop them from breeding for a while, things are getting out of hand. Why are reserves in America somuch better?

  • @Ilovezebrapig

African park officials (have/are and will) complain about human-animal conflict and issues affecting natl. parks all the time.

But not a SINGLE one will EVER suggest capturing and breeding animals in zoos as a solution. I know it's below our dignity to talk that way about our cultural heritage.

Like every other phony Western institution claiming to help Africa, zoos are simply cashing in on our problems while claiming to help our wildlife.

Who are you trying to fool?

  • @veggiewarriors

    That's untrue, there HAVE BEEN.

Mick Reilly and his father run a wildlife sanctuary in Africa and supplied the animals to San Diego and Tampa park zoo, they thought they were going to have to cull the animals but they didn't because they could put them there. They, and other sanctuaries, have said that a zoo is better then death.

Honestly, I'd rather live in a large house then die, and I think that's how survival SHOULD work.

  • @Ilovezebrapig

Mick's dad, Ted is a corrupt man working with CITES. They're about trade not conservation. Reilly threatened the Supreme Court with the death of eles if it didn't grant zoos, permits to buy them for 12K$. Which conservationist speaks that way?

The Shamwari reserve with an anti-poaching unit and 7K acres of land in S.Africa was willing to take in these eles. Anyone w/ a brain can see this was a better option and the malicious role these greedy white men played in this issue.

  • @areageek Thank you! I agree. I boycott zoos. I love elephants sooo much.

  • @areageek

I have been participated in circus protests, and have helped with bringing awareness with elephant reserves, but where do you propose they go? You realize they are being culled in the wild, and there is no way to stop it? They are wiping out other species. In zoos they are safe, and I'm fairly certain nature is about survival, not about the ideology of freedom. At least with good zoos like the San Diego zoo, I feel it's one of our only options.

  • @areageek

You are so right. I wish people would stop using that ridiculous excuse of how the wild has problems and shit to justify captivity.

Elephants surpass people in their emotional intelligence. And confining an elephant is literally the equivalent to imprisoning a child to "protect" them from a dangerous world. It's just not worth it. You rather live in a dangerous place on your own terms rather than a "safe" place on someone else's.

  • @areageek--

I couldn't agree more. They should have left the elephants in the wilds of Africa, where they can be slaughtered illegally for ivory and "Bush Meat." What part of "Extinction Protection" DON'T you get?

  • @areageek

well if they're in the wild they'll get poached.

  • @areageek Well do you want them to stick around or go extinct in the wild because people keep hunting them, hmm?

  • @areageek They belong in the wild where they will get poached? Good call.

  • yeah shes cute but i have it on good authority that that elephant is a racist

  • ahahahahah

  • Ha, good one.

  • Awee! so cute = )
