@SacridiaDarque- No problem. I don't mind answering questions. :) My insurance covered it 'cause I got free nurse visits. Its a $10-$20 a month copay to do it myself but it saves me the trip out to Boston.
I recommend Testosterone Pellets for anyone interested in rising thier T level. My Testosterone went from a pathetic 296 to 733 in just 3 months. With the Pellets you only have to get new ones inserted every 4-6 months and your T levels STAY high instead of UPS and DOWNS you get with other methods. Pellets are more expensive but well worth it IMO. If you can't afford it don't worry because Injections and so on work okay as well.
@Ljungcrantz- Glad I could help. Transition is a long process, your gonna have your patience tested often, but its worth it. :) Good luck on your journey.
@thelettermanv - Every doctor is different. 100mg is equal to 1mL. I inject 1mL every TWO weeks. It might be that 100mg/week is a starting dose and your doctor may bring you down once your levels have been raised enough. Just make sure to get frequent blood tests to make sure your T levels are in a normal range otherwise you could experience some negative side affects. You should be alright as long as a doctor is monitoring you. I wish you well on your journey!
@CaptJackSavvy Thanks! Actually, it's 0.5mL for me. 200mg/mL is the concentration. If it changes anything, it's testosterone enanthate. I don't think my doctor ever mentioned lowering my levels, but of course he has ordered blood tests in a while and has dealt with other trans guys. Got my second shot today, so obviously I am not dead on the floor YET. Hahaha. By the way, thanks for the great informative videos.
@DrDinoMight - Well, since you have to see a therapist first they might be able to recommend someone for you. Once you get your letter for T, you're going to have to see an endocrinologist or a doctor that specializes in working with transpeople/people with hormone problems.
@DrDinoMight depends on where you live. seeing a therapist isn't the only way. just the path recommended by the Harry Benjamin Standards of Care for Transgendered People. this guy is saying if you want to follow the Triadic method of treatment, you get a Diagnosis of "gender identity disorder" from a mental health professional. then proceed thru your choices during transition, legal name change, hormones, surgery, & of course ALWAYS keep up with your psychological care. transition can be TOUGH!
@demarcomixon dude i friggin hope my ass shrinks. that's like the main feature i have that will always be a dead giveaway, until i start hormones. i'm so excited about fat redistribution. not so much on the body hair or odor. loving the idea of a deeper voice and thicker throat, as well as squared off jaw and flatter/stronger abs + other muscles. i plan to work out to the point of looking like a male model. i always hated my body but i think without dysphoria i'll become obsessed with it!
Testosterone is a hormone. It is found in both male and females but much higher in males. It is the chemical that 'causes muscle growth, facial/body hair, sex drive, deeper voice, etc in guys.
@DanReborn If you read the tags you'd see that this video is intended for female to male transgender people. I only take enough T to bring my male hormone levels into a "normal" male range. I am not taking T build muscle, although if I got off my ass every once in a while I could gain some muscle too. Peace.
I don't really know. Taking the hormone was the easiest and fastest way to transition physically so I didn't look into other options. I know that my ex had some progress by taking DHEA which affects testosterone and coupled the DHEA with Milkweed for liver protection, both found at CVS. I haven't done any research on this however and would not recommend messing with hormones without doctor supervision.
Thanks for the info. I know about the ten minutes thing but my cam takes a higher resolution so I've had 8 minute videos be rejected because the file size was too big.
Just watched this, going to watch the others. One question that may come up is why 200 mg's. The answer I've found is that after a certain point, your body will start converting the testosterone into estrogen. So, to keep that from happening, they keep the dosage at where it is.
Great vids, btw, I'm going to show 'em to my bf, even tho he's already experiencing a lot of this, even after only 3 months or so.
Thanks. I just got it, it was on clearence for $3.24! Along with a bunch of other t-shirts from the same company, which of course I bought as well. ;-)
Its called "The Green Project" and they sell that brand at Target. The t-shirt I'm wearing was on the clearence rack so I'm not sure they still have them...good luck!
Question. :) So before you were self-injecting, you were getting your shots at a hospital/clinic? Can I ask how often?
SacridiaDarque 8 months ago
@SacridiaDarque- I used to go to Fenway Community Health every other week. Now every other week I do it myself.

Thank you! ^_^
Did it cost you a whole lot, or did you have insurance coverage? (Sorry for the excessive questions, thank you for your patience!)

I'm on 100mg / week. Is that too much? My endo said it was pretty normal for achieving a male range. I just got my T about a week ago.

DanReborn 2 years ago
Hi,
T is also taken because of health problems. Low T causes a lot of problems in body! Get yourself cecked, T is not used as steroid only.

gels/patches - give the same amount of T as an injection. therefor the results should be the same.
Also. I take an injections in the arm sometime. Its just about the most painless place I have taken an injection.
