No not an emergency! Been in the C.C. club for almost 30 years. Those helicopters have been doing that for over 20, and probably much longer. Back in the 90's they were out of Whiteman and flew Hughes 300's. A guy in the club knew someone from the FAA and they got a lttle visit. Looks like they are back at it. Maybe we need to paint the white X's bigger and paint "Private" on the runway.
If an aircraft needs to make an "emergency landing", the pilot is required to land at a location and in a position that will minimize any hazards to people on the ground.
Its best to know what the facts are before casting judgment!
@WildBird202 Unless you were the pilot in that heli and can tell me why you landed there TWICE I am afraid that you are the one without the facts.
I was there for two hours flying my RC heli and plane. This fellow spent a good deal of time buzzing the field. A collision with my 100+ mph plane or heli would have been deadly. The the fact that he landed is only one of his transgressions. He smiled and waved when he saw me. No emergency involved. He just thought that he could get away with it.
