  • Basically the U.S. government is over stepping its bounds and should be letting each State decide for itself as to what should be health care for its residents. This is a States Rights issue and should be treated as such. The federal government should only be involved with the money that each state receives through federal assistance and general rules of conduct.

  • Ironically, most Americans would prefer a Swiss model of healthcare considering all the red tape involved in getting health insurance. And denying people health for pre-existing conditions...Its horrible people do go broke paying for their health bills and debts from college. Its time for the U.S. to learn from other countries on how to reform its health care and the politicians should actually listen to what their states and peoples need. They will be surprised.

  • ITs ironic how when people advocate for healthcare for everyone (not just soldiers and prisoners at guantanamo bay or wealthy) all the nay sayers of universal healthcare system call the health advocates "socialists" or "communists." When in most countries health care is regard as a human right! There is nothing liberal or socialist about a government spending its GDP on the well being of its own citizens. Why do some Americans view universal healthcare as something unbelievably impossible in US?

  • I wouldn't mind paying 13% of my income, IF I knew I'd be taken care of nomatter what ailment I got. The reason I don't buy healthcare here is because with a pre-existing condition, I won't get any better- just broker.

It's my definition of a sin when Americans can't afford to keep themselves alive, and the greedy profiteers who do this should be jailed.

  • could Switzerland's health care be a model for America?

YES, make BASIC HEALTH CARE non-profit and regulate the Insurance industry like public utility companies.

NAH, it's never gonna happen in the good USA (where Health care is treated like a precious commodity, and sold in open market for handsome profits)

  • Ya know what.. I bet no one gets sick over there.
