I'm still shaken and crying over such a loss, but I know Teena is in a better place now. Words cannot express how much of a guide for my life she was, ever since I discovered her music. Dear Lenny, I lost someone dear to me two years ago, who was also my mentor. We hadn't spoken for a few months because of a misunderstanding. I was devastated when she passed suddenly..and.to be honest I don't think I'll ever get over her lost. A few days after passing she came to me in a dream and told me she knew how much I loved her and would always be with me. I'm sure an old soul likeTeena knows ur heart too. Keep shining a light on Teen's amazing talent and hold those dear 2 u even closer.

Lenny..I feel your love for Teena Marie and family. I have loved Lady T from the first time I heard "Deja Vu" on WDAS in Philly. I loved her more as the years progressed because she was real and she loved her music. Her love for people was evident, as well. @rockdiva888 That entire album "Irons in the Fire" is FULL of underrated, great jazz/R&B music. It stays on my iPod and has received even more playing time the last few days. Lady T was a treasure from my childhood that stayed with me through college and into adulthood.
We got a peak into her personality when we interviewed her about her Congo Square CD (you can see it on our page), but I think what Lenny is feeling along with his great sense of loss, is probably a great sense of guilt for not staying in touch with the person he credits like this.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of LADY T, she was a true talent and she will be missed by all of her fans but most of all of her freinds and family! Being a child of the 80's I grew up listening to all of her songs, and I loved everyone of them! I'm still shaken and crying over such a loss, but I know Teena is in a better place now. Words cannot express how much of a guide for my life she was, ever since I discovered her music. She is an angel, the real deal, a trailblazer, a paradigm breaker, an artist par excellence. I'm touched that so many feel as I have for years, that her spirit was such a gift from God. I am thankful that she made her comeback,because for along time I never thought it would happen.

Now artists have more power over their own music, and together with modern day gear, a lot more freedom period, but Teena pioneered some of that freedom. Dear Lenny, I lost someone dear to me two years ago, who was also my mentor. We hadn't spoken for a few months because of a misunderstanding. I was devastated when she passed suddenly..and.to be honest I don't think I'll ever get over her lost. A few days after passing she came to me in a dream and told me she knew how much I loved her and would always be with me. I'm sure an old soul likeTeena knows ur heart too. Lenny..I feel your love for Teena Marie and family. I have loved Lady T from the first time I heard "Deja Vu" on WDAS in Philly. I loved her more as the years progressed because she was real and she loved her music. Her love for people was evident, as well. Thank you for sharing this part of you and displaying the light of her love. I appreciated her artistry and style. She had vocal style and quality that is unmatched. Sadly..but NOW people will be able to "hear" what they missed inher music.

We got a peak into her personality when we interviewed her about her Congo Square CD (you can see it on our page), but I think what Lenny is feeling along with his great sense of loss, is probably a great sense of guilt for not staying in touch with the person he credits like this.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of LADY T, she was a true talent and she will be missed by all of her fans but most of all of her freinds and family! Being a child of the 80's I grew up listening to all of her songs, and I loved everyone of them! @epics7 and don't forget that forever the feminists have been saying men never show their feelings. here is one male who is respecting a great woman. this just makes me admire lenny even more. for some reason teena's death has really got to me and i was just a drop in fan. i have only some of her singles from the early 80's. but i remember her music at nightclubds and they always sounded really exciting to me.
