Whatever the case here, we all know the bike normally wins easily but porsche really do build some cracking cars. You tube is littered with vehicles trying to race 911s and I've never seen a porsche shame itself yet...even when it loses it's by the narrowest of margins. Amazing cars and still brilliant looking IMHO
No riding experience to an R6 and you'll just look like an idiot as you brake really early and take every corner mega slow. I see it all the time, these obvious new bikers on like BMW SS1000Rs and just beat them under braking and in corners all the time, it's really pathetic. They'll still have giant chicken strips too as they cannot get their knee down :\
@slannmage Who cares, as long as they are enjoying themselves and not doing anyone else any harm? Not everyone new to bikes needs to use the bike to it's full potential, and most people will never get close anyway. Just like the guy in the video - clearly new to launching the bike at revs but he did it and all but for a split second, probably enjoyed it. At least these guys probably don't take ludicrous chances and put other road users at risk.
I went from almost no riding experience to an r6 just fine, def go a 500cc or 600cc. I can get to about 90 on a 600 before my friend gets to 60 on his 09' 250 ninja.
@WoWimawesome1 Both are awesome bikes, for a new rider the r6 is better just because it has less power, but if you're all about the power then go with the r1.
@skittlepower95 Please spare us... A 600 R is the perfect starting bike for anyone with a bit of brains. Easy handling, packs the power, not so thirsty. Just sucks with insurance.
@niebelung54 you do know that 350's,400's,250's exist right?
for a first bike get a small 250 (honda cbr250rr) you can thrash the shit out of them and flick em around a lot easier than a bigger bike, for a beginner this is good.
@skittlepower95 Do you even ride a bike? Youll get so tired of a 250 that u'll get rid of it the first month of riding. Theyve got 0 torque, no cream, still expensive for the amount you get and you wont learn anything more than the basics. When you get on a power-bike, you will learn alot more than on a 250. 250's are cool track-bikes on smaller tracks with lots of curves. For the street? Nah.
yes they have less power, but that only means that spinning the rear tyre is less of a problem, allowing for more concentration on things around you. also lets you flick it around more.
if you want a 250 with a bit more power, go with an aprilia rs250 2 stroke/rgv250 2 stroke.
they will still teach you throttle contro,l while still being small and nimble control.
what is a big bike going to get you on the street?
@skittlepower95 i dissagree, i have far more fun on my 400 than i ever did on a 250, i say if you never move up you will never learn, i mean yeah sure get your skills with a smaller bike but move up if you want, and on the street... well come on... we all get tempted sometimes, and just the acceleration and power from a 250... well on a biger bike, for me... makes the corners more fun
@skittlepower95 hmm, my uncle has been riding since he was 19, he is now 55. im 18 and was looking into getting a bike so i went to him for advice. at first i mentions the 250cc bikes and he had nothing against them, but he suggested getting a 500cc because he said you will get very bored with the 250cc and it will only last about 1 riding season. 500cc he said is still good for begginers but you just have to be a little more carefull when starting out but it might last a couple years.
@skittlepower95 Ya, but most people get used to a 250 fairly quickly and are ready to upgrade within a short period of time. Mainly I wouldn't recommend the R6 to a 16 year old or someone that is new to driving in general.
Es fisica pura, no hay auto que pueda superar a una moto de alta cilindrada partiendo de parado a excepción de un dragster. En velocidad final mandarán los HP en relación al peso...
hahaha i remember my first run with my new race clutch. it turned out just like this and still won. and a piece of advice...after puttin over 3k into the engine dont think you have comtrol of the bike...that bitch has you by the balls. If you have enough balls to you can tap out the rpm's in second gear and do about 92 mph. I took in on a 1000 ft strip and got 153mph and almsot 190 on the 1/4. I just wrecked it and now its laying in parts in my garage right now.
Wow bro, you look like a big dude. How much do you weigh (not raggin on you). I've got a YZF600 and I'm like 180. It's a big bike to me, weighs more than an R6. But I'll be damned if I didn't stand it up the other day and scare the shit out of myself! Great run bud.
Good grief are you kidding dude completely noobed the hell outta that launch, I beat a Porsche with ten toes down, off pure launch, the only car to ever keep up was Mercedes SL550 Roadster lol dude ripped me at a launch but I beat him still lol
You can tell, this guy on the R6 is very inexperienced. Never been to one of those drag places I guess. Of course, drag racing is only an american thing, with not too much skill needed.
lol I was watching this and then saw the description, darn crail strip is just 30 mins down the road from me I never thought the vid was taken there! :D
awesome. I'm 14 and i am now in high school and when i drive i want to drive a Yamaha r6 not right away but when im older and more experienced. And i think its cool how you could get a nice bike for the price of a shitty car. And nice vid dude you won?! thats pretty sweat.

races between bikes and cars are always better from a rolling start. You need serious horsepower to beat a bike from a standstill.
