I was in Pet smart thinking about buying a snake some months ago, they feed none of their reptiles live food, sell frozen mice, pink's, ect and also sell something to rub over the dead mouse or rat that stimulates the appetite. In fact he told me they wont even eat live prey once used to eating the dead. What he told me was only the python can be picky about dead food, but most have no problem.

@jennytrctrc You know these snake species spend 90% of there time hiding under something? If you keep a dog, cat, or any type of pet, you are a hypocrite. Snake keepers, (at least me) don't mind videos like this because we don't see it as an animal being killled, we see it as our pets being fed. A snake striking and doing what it can to get a meal always puts a smile on my face, not the animal dieing. Snakes can become very adapt in captivity and tame.

I had to feed my snake live at first, but swapped to frozen as soon as possible. being gassed/frozen is much more humane than digested alive, imo.

I have no problem with it, its all nature/etc (in fact i have a pet rat who we love very much), but no need to feed a snake this much in one sitting, it isnt healthy for it, give it one or two larger mice (1.5x width of snake) and leave it there, snakes can get fatty livers and die pretty easily if you overfeed them

I had one who would come to me, when I put a bowl of food down, because she wanted affection. It is odd that such a smart animal is so low on the food chain. Yeah this guys a stupid fuck. First of all he shouldnt be feeding in his cage as the snake could easily ingest the substrate along with the mouse but wouldnt be able to digest it or pass it. Second feeding that much can kill the snake. Third he should kill the mouse first before feeding or maybe this dumbfuck will think its AWESOME when his snake gets bitten and the wound gets infected and the snake dies or gets blinded when the mouse bites or scratches it eye while fighting for its life.

Everything about this is wrong. these snakes hail from areas which are not as humid as this- respiratory problem waiting to happen. you are feeding it too much, i wouldn't be surprised if this actually killed the snake. The mice are live, they don't need to be.
