I went through youtube, low and behold its a stuby little thing again. any help would be much appreciated. PS this is not a video resolution issue because Iv tried both 480X360 and 1024X768

  • can you make me a template cause i don't have full version of Photoshop element

  • which program is this

  • @rallos200 It is Photoshop Elements...great program!

  • @teresabellec i use Photoshop cs5.5 ^^

  • Oh my god! I just started blogging and there is NO way I am that computer savvy to create something like that! TT__TT

And here I want to make it my own. TT__TT

  • can u help me how to add kevinandamanda cute font.. really appreciated if u can make an toturial in hypercam.. i did follow kevinandamanda toturial in their blog but i cloud understand..

  • what sort of program do you use to make your blogg?

  • @tjejen93 In the video I used Photoshop Elements. Now I use Photoshop CS4, but unless you're planning on being a designer of some sort, you're good to go with something less expensive like Photoshop Elements, which is an awesome program!

  • Mine says Invalid variable declaration in page skin: Variable is used but not defined. Input: bgcolor?

  • @briannasyt Did you delete all of your code and post the new code? You would find this information on my blog. teresabelle. blogspot. com, minus the spaces.

  • the tutorial is great, but i think you do it too fast.

  • @TheBellona hehe...sorry! pausing might help?

  • Thanks! Now I can have my own background!

  • hey there

will this work on paint shop pro?

I am working whit that progam,

    bye

  • @Roosiesplace Yes, I think you can. I have never used it, so I can't say for sure. But I'm pretty sure you can.

  • thank you, now I can change my blog background with a cool background ...

  • it tells me that I need to define the bgcolor and the textcolor. now what??

  • @janiffer85 Email me (teresabelle @ gmail . com) so I can walk through it with you and see what might be causing that.

  • the photobucket thing doesnt work.. it doesnt give me the option to make it 1mb. it just gives me the options of changing the resolution. please help!!!

  • @DAVO824 Just make sure you save it under 1mb. Then upload it to photobucket. Don't worry about selecting the 1mb option. It should work that way.

  • which program are you using?

  • @rufeo123 in the video it's Photoshop Elements. Now I use Photoshop CS4. If you have no program, I highly recommend Photoshop Elements. It's a great program.

  • @teresabellec thanks

  • which program r u using

  • k this might be just me but the new blogger doesnt have MINIMA or at least i cant find it and the" Simple" template that i tried doesnt have the same bg code to change so...what do i do?? I'm in the homestretch and....I'm lost at this point

  • @cardiac937 Go to my blog teresabelle.blogspot.com. Blogger changed how they do things and I posted how to do it. Sorry, i can't easily redo the video, but if you go to my blog, i tell you what to do. i give you ALL the code to post it into your html. it'll give you minima and let you change the background.

  • what html are you using? I can't find any of these codes displayed. Its all different. I can't even use an upload from photobucket because I have to use Minima and that cancels out customizing font colors and background windows

  • @Xtermination100 Go to my blog teresabelle.blogspot.com. Look under the TUTORIALS tab and find the one for the blog background. I give you all the code you need. You can still go in and customize your fonts and colors after that. To modify your font/colors, after you have changed your html, you go to DESIGN, TEMPLATE DESIGNER, click on ADVANCED tab on the left, then in the column directly to the right of that there will be options to go through and change colors or fonts.

  • i would like to see some kind of tutorial on html and css cause i am a website designer and i have designed a website from scratch and i have no clue where to put any of my html css or java script

  • I can't find where you posted your blog (I'm not the best at this stuff so sorry if it's right under my nose) I'm hoping for almost a 2/3 - 1/3 setup I guess.... there's the main blog section on the left then all the little stuff on the right side. Can you send me your blog and I'll see it that's what I need? Thanks! You're a doll!

  • @TheBubblyb Sure, it's teresabelle.blogspot.com. I need to update my post on there about how to create your own background. The code I have on there now for people to use will give them a page similar to how mine is now, only it will be much more narrow (it's the traditional width that blogger uses). If you want the wider page (like how the new blogger lets you do it), then I can give you that code. It's not on my post yet.

  • LOVE this but I have one question.... can this same procedure be done for a minima stretch template? I love the larger photos I can get with minima stretch but LOVE the cute blog backgrounds for 3 column, etc. :( I want the best of both worlds. I've been all over the internet and have found only ONE semi-cute background and so I'd like to make my own. Any help would be great!

  • @TheBubblyb I honestly don't know. I haven't tried it with that. Are you wanting a 3-column one or just a wider one? I don't know any answers for the 3-column one, but I know how you can go in and adjust the width so that you can post larger photos. This past weekend I adjusted my blog to make it larger. If you look, you can see it's larger. If you want that, I can give you the code.

  • @OisinRalph Yes, I use photoshop CS4 now. Any program that lets you create things like this will work:-) Good luck!

  • That is so awesome, thank you so much-

  • Thanks, it worked! But now i only got the image very small on the background insteda of one image over the whole background. Can you help me with that?

  • This is too much work, just for a background... IL GIVE UP JUSTIN BIEBER KILL ME

  • What are the Dimensions of the size of the background..

  • Hello, I followed your exact instructions, I used photoshop cs3 to make the image but did everything like you said but when I add the code and go preveiw it gives me this error message: Invalid variable declaration in page skin: Variable is used but not defined. Input: bgcolor. can you please help me with this, thank you so much.

  • Thank you so much this helped alot. xxxxxx

  • @triciamaeuy There are several programs you can use. Any scrapbooking program will work, and I think some people have even mentioned using programs like Microsoft Publisher. But I only am familiar with Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. You can get Elements for under $100 and probably quite a bit under that amount if you look on ebay and buy a used copy.

  • thank you so much! works perfectly on my blog after I had to change the file size to less than 1 mb. Clearly instructed, even without the sound! ^_^

  • wat program is it ur using?

  • @KTbeat In the video I am using Photoshop Elements by Adobe. It's a great program!

  • @teresabellec o um no idea but ok thank u for replying anyways^^ sorry not to smart in technology haha

  • @KTbeat do an online search for "photoshop elements" and you'll find the program. Also consider looking on ebay for "photoshop elements". Hope that helps!

  • @teresabellec k thank u^^

  • Fabulous! thank you! (and i'm cool with the no sound!) the typed information was what I really needed anyway! :D thanks!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

  • I have finally been able to make and upload my own personalised blog background, YOU ARE THE BEST!

Thank you soooo much for sharing this tutorial!

  • Hey I did What you said.. But Look what Happened itThe Background got smaller it was the size

  • @Webosaursgangsters Can you send me a link to your blog so I can look at it? You can leave a comment on my blog with your website link, and I can look. i"m guessing the file is larger than 1 mb, which will make it upload too small. You'll need to make sure you reduce the quality some while saving it until you get the size under 1mb. Once it's under 1mb, and if you have the measurements correct, it should stretch across correctly. But send me a link to your website if you want me to look.

  • Hey i Cant find the Replacement Code on your Blog.... Can you Send me the LINK OF THE pOST WITH THE Code

  • @Webosaursgangsters I'm guessing you found it? You go to my blog, which you can find the link in the description area above. Then look for the TUTORIAL button on the right of the blog and the link is right under that for the blog background tutorial and that is where the code is.

  • @Webosaursgangsters Oh actually I had posted the direct link to my blog post with the code in the video description above, which is now found directly under the video itself. Just click on that link.

  • I made a background from your measurements and figures and put it up to test it out and got that 'white on either side thing' I do have a large monitor, but I don't see the white on anybody elses blogs why only mine?

  • Most blog backgrounds aren't custom made, so you don't see the sides of the background due to the way blogger does their background. My new computer screen is pretty wide, and most custom made backgrounds aren't wide enough, and I see what you are describing. I would suggest widening your background to 1960 pixels instead of 1450. That would be wide enough for almost every screen resolution/width. Just be sure that you save it under the 1 mb file size so that it will show up normal.

  • i don't get 2:10, could someone explain it for me?

  • Are you referring to creating the center section? Along the top of the screen is a ruler (ctrl+R in PSE/PS). You can't really see it in the video. In order to get your center section in the correct spot, you place it at 5inches and 15inches. Does that help at all? Basically you want it to be 10 inches wide and placed in the center of your background - and those measurements are the center.

  • how big is 10 inches in pixels?

  • I can't get to my computer right now to check and tell you for sure. But it depends on your dpi/ppi (dots per inch/pixels per inch), which is at 72 for a blog background. So, take 10 inches and multiply it by 72 pixels = 720 pixels.

Or you can take 1450 px and divide by 72, which will convert px measurements into inches for you.

You need to be sure to set your dpi to 72, since this number can be set to anything and will affect the measurement results.

  • What matters is your great tutorial, not the SOUND :)

  • Thanks...hehe. I didn't have a microphone or even a webcam at the time, though I know some sound would be ideal:-)

  • can u make a bg with publisher 2003?

  • THank you! Finally a good way to figure this out! I can't wait to try it! Thank you!

  • I have no idea why I can't get this to post to you. I've tried responding several times! Anyway, I used Summer Driggs for the papers/elements. You can google her and find her site. It's free stuff last I checked. If you want a wider variety of options, look for digital scrapbooking stores (online). There are seemingly endless stores! Some are high quality and some are cheaper quality. I sell at Scrapbook Bytes.

  • Thanks for the great tutorial. How did you get the ruler to show up on photoshop so you can measure the middle of your template? I have PSE7. I'm sure that feature isn't much diff. than pse6

    Thanks

  • I think it's ctrl+R. I use PS CS4 now and can't remember all the details with PSE, but I think it's the same as PSE. If that doesn't work, look under the "View" tab and it should list the "ruler" option.

  • Hey, I have one question what program are you using to do this?

  • @HappysmileChobotz I used Photoshop Elements 6. Now I use Photoshop CS4. But Photoshop Elements is great and much better priced unless you become a designer:-)

  • i am begging u what program did u used ?

  • @fatinrockzz Photoshop Elements 6:-)

  • Thanks so much! Very helpful.

  • How do you comment on your own post? Mine doesn't work.

  • At the bottom of your entry there is a "comments" link. Click on that. It should take you to your comments page. If that doesn't work, send me a link to your blog and I'll see if it looks set up differently or something!

  • I know that's what I'm saying. Mine 'used' to work. But, for some reason, the white square where you leave the comments in doesn't show anymore. As in I don't even have anything to type in-to leave a comment. It works for other people but, just not me (the owner of my blog).

  • Hopefully it's just set up differently than you're used to. I do know that some blogger templates will have a white comment box that u type directly in immediately - it'll show up under the blog entry. And other ones (like the minima template that you probably have on there now) will not show the white box until you click on the word "comments" which is found at the bottom of ur entry. It must be driving you batty:-) Can u send me ur blog address so I can peek & see what might be going on?

  • Ya I clicked on the "post" comment a whole bunch of times. but, it doesn't seem to be working. I don't really want to give you by blog sorry-I don't just give it to random people. Thanks for the help anyways! :D

  • No problem:-) I totally understand the privacy thing. You can take a peek at my blog and see if it's set up the same as yours with the comments thing. Can you sign out of your blog and go back in (without signing in) and leave a comment as a random person on your blog?

  • Thank you so much : )

  • trying. but the silent video is killing me

  • I'm so sorry! At the time, I didn't have a way to add a good quality narration. I hope you've figured it out;-)

  • Thank you very much. It was easy to understand, and I got great results, you rock!!

  • where do you get those cool patterns?

  • what program r u using for creating your onw template?? pls

  • In the video, I was using Photoshop Elements. Now I use Photoshop CS4. Photoshop Elements does a lot for a much more reasonable price for those who aren't into designing and such. Photoshop Elements 7.0 is the current version.

  • Just what I've been looking for: as I do not want to use someone elses template. I want to create my own.

Awesome, now if I take notes to this silent movie: I might be able to figure this out. I will come back later & give you the results, later.

  • Thank you this did help me get over some of the trouble I was having, but now I am facing a new problem, can anyone help. When I place my new background it is moving every thing else. The template is all messed up and by post are stretched out. I am not sure how to fix it. comment if you can help thanks!

  • Where you able to figure out what was going on? Make sure you changed the template to Minima before you modified the code. And make sure you delete EXACTLY what is shown to delete (nothing more). It's amazing what deleting one little thing extra can do! I hope you were able to figure it out.

  • Perfect! Thanks!

  • Thanks that's really helpful.

  • thanks alot! it works perfectly! been trying to figure it out forever..-.- thanks dude

  • I get stumped on the last part where you say: paste the following code (... found below on my blog) How do I get that new code. I don't see a link to your blog "below"

  • i like the quality

  • besides uploading pics thru photobucket for the direct link, can we use flickr too?

  • I've never used flickr;-) I would imagine you could use them if there is a direct link for you to use.

  • this was great! Thanks for sharing!

  • Great, thank you so much! I've been trying to figure out how to do this forever.
