The wheel will spin as long as the earth provides the force!
The only perpetual motion machine that would work would be magnates secured around a wheel and one to a main frame, but it would have to be enormously huge in order to get just a sliver of useful energy out of it.
if you are interested google "Pila Karpen" in translation "The Karpen Cell".The Karpen Cell was not made very public so you will find it on google just by her roumanian name "PILA KARPEN" .Try to translate the text's you will find with google translate!
Need more dimensions to analyze. What is supporting the wheel? If it is the weighted moving arms, then how would they be free to move under the stress of supporting the wheel? Also if this animation was designed to show gravity resetting the arms, the placement is wrong. If it is based on angle and mere weight of the falling arms, and the force of the rotating wheel pushing the arms back into start position, then it would cancel it self out being of the same weight and resistance...plus gravity.
@Jammieg001 Nope. The universe isn't going to last forever, sadly. Thermodynamics, my friend. The universe is no exception, even in space there are opposing forces and temperature, so nope. The universe isn't.
@Jammieg001 The universe is not self powered. It's powered by the unbalance of gravity between every object that has mass. If the gravity were equal between every object from the very beginning, nothing would ever have moved. Thus, the universe is powered by that of gravity, not its own power.
Seal yourself with holy spirit! Slit your throat for bowing to idols such as flag and crucifix. Do not attend church meetings, end Christendoom, restore Christian unity [Christianity], no church, no division!
.... You cant create energy... you can only transfer it. With energy loss due to friction and resistance due to air and such, you cant have a perpetual motion machine. Even if you managed to eliminate all opposing forces, there is no use for this type of engine since you can not create energy, only transfer it. So this machine would run, but you would not be able to use any of the energy it produces, because that would make it stop. Any energy it makes, it consumes. Useless...
@ndk2k4 there has already been a perpetual motion machine built in austrailia. only it uses magnetics instead of gravitation. the guy who created it is powering 3 rooms in his house with it, and says he wants to market it for about 10,000$ a unit. google it, and youll find it.. theres a newscast.. and lots of articles about it as well. the only part that needs changed is the shaft which has to be changed about every 3-5 years.
@ndk2k4 This is thinking inside the box. Where would new technology come from if we all thought this way? Think of the inventor Thomas Edison and the education he did not have. If he had it, he may have simply worked as a bean counter like most of us.
@ndk2k4 What if you would make a machine like a dynamo, put it in far into space (where there is no friction, but small gravitational forces) give it a spin, and it would run for(almost)ever. right?
@centurionl energy can not be created, only transfered, believing in creationism doesnt change the laws of physics..... and noobje91, the friction still exists in the device itself, no matter how minute, the environment removes outside sources, but the friction present within the device itself can never be eliminated unless it is floating in a magnetic field, which of course changes with time (long time)
@ndk2k4 well no it doesnt but where it was God or something else it had to have been created at some point, the bigbang well where the big bang came from did not create it, right? it was just holding it but it had to come from somewhere
if there is no such thing as perpetual motion, then explain how the electrons in an atom are powered.also explain how gravity disappears when they make a nano machine.the laws of physics are seriously flawed.
neil young is working on converting a 59 lincoln to electric.instead of plugging it in to recharge it you plug it in to power power your house.check it out@lincvolt
the world needs more people like neil, and less people who would throw sticks at him for trying.go show r support please.
I think it is your knowledge of physics that is seriously flawed. Electrons aren't powered. They can do nothing on their own.
Neil Young's Lincoln is nothing more than a huge Prius. Also, as soon as I saw the video of the car that runs on nothing but water (pseudoscience), I discounted anything else the website had to say.
you are mixing up macroscale physical systems with quantum phenomena.
the electrons in an atom are not powered akin to parts in a machine, it is an example of quantum level effect.
cool metal to a superconductor and it will run electricity through it forever, not because it is a perpetual motion machine, but because it is showing a macroscale quantum effect, it has become akin a giant atom.
That machine does not work. It has been built countless times, and has NEVER worked. The maths is simple it CANT work. Even if you could make a perpetual motion machine, the moment you hooked it up to a generator to try to do anything useful with it, the extra drag of the generator would stop it. People I KNOW you are desperate to believe in thing like this, but perpetual motion has been completely debunked. Only the most retarded ufo conspiracy nuts will go anywhere near it.
@8earthchild8 has anyone with the proper resourses and funding built it? i know wood has lotsa friction and it obvously wouldnt work, but imagine if scientists discovered frictionless surface or something else it would tottaly work!
@xylsplat Actually, that was never. Only religious nuts ever believed that. Some things CAN be PROVEN to be 100% IMPOSSIBLE. The idea of pulling energy out of your ass is one of them. This is physics that you can teach a ten year old and have them understad it. Don't worry, though. I'm sure you think of your stupidity as "thinking outside the box" You probably think you are a dreamer and that, one day, a dreamer like you will create a machine like this that works. Sorry. NO-ONE ever will.
@8earthchild8 lmao.. it would be your stupidity to assume that it was only religious nuts who believed that. the fact of the matter is that man said you could never go to the moon but neil armstrong did it. 300 yrs ago people would have never believed that you could pull energy out of a rock.. radiation is real. ignorance, lack of knowledge and trying to make yourself smart by calling others stupid. pull your head out of a** instead of energy and you might get somewhere.
@xylsplat If you are saying perpetual motion machines are possible and can provide us free energy, you ARE stupid. There are no two ways about it. There is no arguing. Over-unity is not and never will be possible. It's not like a FEW people claiming we will never walk on the moon. (MAN never said that) It's more like me telling you that YOU will never walk on the sun. Not even if you go in winter.
Yes gravity does power some of our machines...for example a bicycle riding down a hill. But people, there is no such thing as a free ride, it has to be pushed up the hill again. These machines cannot be perpetual, just look at this design. Energy required to lift the left hand side of the wheel is the same used by the falling right hand side...air and mechanical resistance will take care of the rest and the wheel will stop. The complex design will induce even more drag then a normal wheel
Q. If you send a rocket into outerspace (out of the orbit of any planetary body) won't it go on perpetually? If that's the case (which I'm not sure if it is) would that not constitute a 'perpetual motion machine? It's a machine that is now in perpetual motion ... moving. I'm sure my logic is wrong / flawed here but I'm just wondering if you or someone could help me on this one ... thanks :)
It would theoretically continue to move forever if the vacuum of space was perfectly empty, but it isn't, but would only have the energy you initially gave it to get it moving. If you tried to use that energy for anything, it would slow down and stop. You would only EVER be ably to get back what you put in
Interesting question. I guess you are right, the rocket would be a perpetual motion machine. I guess we have to think about other factors though such as there is never a complete void of either gravity or matter in the universe as we know it.
I've had so many people spam me because of my comment. But this machine is not a new design, its been around for hundreds of years. Its called an overbalanced wheel. In theory it could run forever, but people need to understand that gravity is the energy source for this wheel. Please don't confuse perpetual motion with this machine.
If you're arguing in favor of perpetual motion I'm not even going to answer your question. It can't happen, if you think it can your wrong. Its a law of thermodynamics and no one that spends their time on youtube arguing does not have the mental capacity to debate that fact.
@fuzzy711 A roumanian inventor called Nicolae Vasilescu-Karpen ,bulid in 1950 a "thermoelectricall cell with uniform temperature".The device is in fact a perpetuum mobile that generats power. Nicolae Vasilescu-Karpen said that this device will function for ever. The device is workin in perfect condtions in the year of 2010 and it's exposed at Dimitrie Leonida musem in Bucharest!
Except that if it was, we would have revoked the laws of thermodynamics. That would be very big news. Are you going to postulate a massive conspiracy, or should I correctly assume the machine doesn't work as advertised like every other perpetual motion machine in existence anywhere at any time so far?
@amoroso13s An invention that no one is allowed to see.... hmmm..... Sorry, but science isn't about taking people at their word. If you want me to believe this, its going to have to undergo the same scientific scrutiny that everything else is subjected too.
@fuzzy711 dude. The invention can not be exhibited because the museum has no money to buy the security systems required for special exhibits.we are a fucking poor country.just google Nicolae Vasilescu-Karpen.the first link is an article written in english.i'm disappointed that you aspect result from others and not trying to find them yourself!
@amoroso13s So what? Why does your country need to keep it to themselves anyways? I've read the article, and you have the patent on it, so releasing it to the public for study would be no harm. The article gives no explanation to how it works. I've done the research myself in university, and as of right now, perpetual motion is impssible. A machine like this would completely re-write all the rules of physics and change the way we see science. If it works, prove it.
@fuzzy711 I cannot prove it.I have no power.I can only belive in many things that we don't have acces to because if they are approved in the open they cannot make money. The Tesla wireless electricity transmission, this perpetuum device, the water based motor...the world is a vicious demonic thing my friend.
@amoroso13s The world is, but science is not. Science is a self-correcting machine. If one person discovers something, but doesn't let it out to the public, there is always someone else that will discover the same thing. There will always be rumors of oil companies crushing the man that discovers how to run a car off of gasoline, but they aren't true. If someone does make a discovery, there is far too much money in it to stay a secret for long. And btw, wireless electricity already marketed.
@amoroso13s true, but its extremely unlikely that we will change the laws we already have in place because someone invents a machine that we've predicted is impossible
@rkyeun You mean gravity is conservative in relation to leverage? There is always a loss, but the mechanical advantage ratio of leverage should at some point override gravity; simple math. I'm not saying over unity, but low cost useful conversion. We see similar usefulness in heaters and hydraulics, which no one questions.
Gravity is conservative, period. It's not in relation to anything. Any path through a gravitational field that brings you back to the same point where you started has a net energy of zero. The only way to gain energy is if you go down and stay there. Going back up costs the same energy you just got. It doesn't matter how fast you do it. The beads fall from the top to bottom. They then have to be lifted back up. Gravity doesn't care about your sideways motion, you have no leverage here.
Cool invention. I like Leonardo Da Vinci because of his concern for animal rights (he was a vegetarian or a vegan) and he didn't like the extreme abuse of people of color by the Europeans. I think I'm going to name my future son Davinci and give him a middle name of Leonardo. This is because I like Leonardo Da Vinci.
appears to be another variation on the "overbalanced wheel" class of (non-working) perpetual motion machines. bottom line, the earth's gravitational field is not a source of energy.
I disagree. Gravity may play a role in some energy production (e.g. hydroelectric power, but this energy does not ultimately come from gravity: it comes from the sun vaporizing low-potential water and allowing it to move to a high potential), but you cannot extract "free" work from a gravitational field without a concomitant input.
There is a difference between perpetual motion and a machine that will never stop because its powered by gravity. Yes a machine like this would never stop (assuming gravity will never stop), but the fact that its being powered by gravity means that it's not running off of itself, and is therefore not perpetual.
no it will stop cause powered by gravity would mean getting no energy (yes, right)
if the divices it self wouldnt come closer to earth no work would be done and u would have a reall overunite machine...-- buit, as ZoeMarks sad right: u should learn physiks cause the gravityforces would be eaqual at both sides. ( sry, but i'm not the best in explaining)
Lots of Perpetual Motion Machines are designed like this one.
What people don't understand is the gravitational forces act on both side of the axis and are equal and there is no net turning effect. Because the device looks asymmetrical it appears to the untrained eye there is more leverage generated on on side than the other. But as leverage is product of distance and force and such product does not change with these devices there is no net twisting force. Ergo no perpetual motion.
I meant that inventions that are highly efficient, such as water powered things like soldering torches, engines and such, have a "habit" of disappearing or not being manufactured.
We have gas engines that get 80 mpg, yet we don't see them on the road. It all comes down to money, and who gets paid.
hey guys! from what i read on the besslers wheel it could lift up to 40 lbs. strait up, but of coarse it had to be 12ft. high to do that, nobody really knows the exact design but it was proven to work, we are not at the end of physics yet guys, there is a way, we just have to keep trying. bye guys.
This is not a perpetual motion machine. There is no such beast. All attempts to make an actual working model have failed. Video versions are not real...get with the program guys!!!
The laws of physics rock.
"Perpetual motion machines are powered by belief and stopped by reality." Adam Peenum
One could argue the universe (its contents) are traveling thru space at great speed due to kinetic energy and could in theory go on forever.
Considering it as perpetual motion machine means we should be able to get work out of this - no, any energy leaves a body and travels out thru space and is lost. The universe is not a closed system like we would consider other systems.
Once you harness energy (as in a machine) energy is lost. A burst of heat travels out into he nothingness of space and becomes part of the background noise of space.
I like to consider the universe as in transition. It'll keep expanding or collapse, but give the enormous time scale, does it matter?
Better to think of earth and how people are slowly but surely stuffing it up for future generations.
"To build a society takes progress, to destroy it takes more". Adam Peenum
hey guys! look up besslers wheel, they say his really worked, coarse he's not around to verifiy that anymore! oh well, it keeps us guessing. bye guys.
It always amazes me to hear how people love to tear down others. If someone has an idea there are those who just love to try to make them feel like an idiot. I suppose there were people like that when Einstein was doing his work...they are not laughing anymore.
People do not like their comfort levels messed with...and perpetual motion seems to make many very nervous...well, to all of you out there trying..KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! Imagination will always beat out ignorance!
You don't need the patent's office permission to show a working model, even if you have filed for a patent. You can show your invention to the public AT ANY TIME. Most inventors just choose to keep their inventions under wraps until a patent is issued.
If you haven't filed for a patent, then one can also come out with a PUBLIC demonstration, and show how your invention works to EVERYONE. You are given a year from the date of your public demonstration to file for a patent.
i think this wouldnbt work either, but it´s good to have ppl working on things like this because with every new try they will get closer to friction 0 but never reach it
So these gadgets won´t be perpetual but might be useful for science and industry since they can use energy more efficent than the previous ones. so why destroy dreams of those ppl?
this would never work. the weights are falling upwards and would cancel out! its a waste of time to even build it and try it when it can be torn apart with cold hard facts and science
All the torques due to weights sitting distance from center cancell out you moron. you would hace to add energy to turn this wheel and overcome friction.
You are one stupid optimist. Taking an old concept for a perpetual motion machine and thinking you can make it work. You can't, and you haven't. Nobody would ever invest in this nonsense.
You people think that you have a fertile mind and others are idiot. If you can't solve this puzzle no one can do this, thats why is impossible. so brilliant you are.

To give a better picture, combine your model with the one I provide you in the responses! Should take care of friction!
The wheel will spin as long as the earth provides the force!

The only perpetual motion machine that would work would be magnates secured around a wheel and one to a main frame, but it would have to be enormously huge in order to get just a sliver of useful energy out of it.

Laws of perpetual mouvement machines :
1- they don't need inicial impulse to start running.
2- once running they don't stop unless brake is aplied.
3- they work without electric wires or motors attached.
4- and finaly... they don't work, whatever you do.
If any of these rules is violated, is a fake machine.

@Jammieg001 The universe is not self powered. It's powered by the unbalance of gravity between every object that has mass. If the gravity were equal between every object from the very beginning, nothing would ever have moved. Thus, the universe is powered by that of gravity, not its own power.

Useless...

That machine does not work. It has been built countless times, and has NEVER worked. The maths is simple it CANT work. Even if you could make a perpetual motion machine, the moment you hooked it up to a generator to try to do anything useful with it, the extra drag of the generator would stop it.

It's a machine that is now in perpetual motion ... moving. I'm sure my logic is wrong / flawed here but I'm just wondering if you or someone could help me on this one ... thanks :)
directorwvp2 2 years ago
It would theoretically continue to move forever if the vacuum of space was perfectly empty, but it isn't, but would only have the energy you initially gave it to get it moving. If you tried to use that energy for anything, it would slow down and stop. You would only EVER be ably to get back what you put in
8earthchild8 2 years ago
Interesting question. I guess you are right, the rocket would be a perpetual motion machine. I guess we have to think about other factors though such as there is never a complete void of either gravity or matter in the universe as we know it.

amoroso13s 1 year ago
@amoroso13s So what? Why does your country need to keep it to themselves anyways? I've read the article, and you have the patent on it, so releasing it to the public for study would be no harm. The article gives no explanation to how it works. I've done the research myself in university, and as of right now, perpetual motion is impssible. A machine like this would completely re-write all the rules of physics and change the way we see science. If it works, prove it.
fuzzy711 1 year ago

amoroso13s 1 year ago
@amoroso13s The world is, but science is not. Science is a self-correcting machine. If one person discovers something, but doesn't let it out to the public, there is always someone else that will discover the same thing. There will always be rumors of oil companies crushing the man that discovers how to run a car off of gasoline, but they aren't true. If someone does make a discovery, there is far too much money in it to stay a secret for long. And btw, wireless electricity already marketed.
fuzzy711 1 year ago
@fuzzy711 It's unlikely all laws of physics have yet been discovered!
amoroso13s 1 year ago
@amoroso13s true, but its extremely unlikely that we will change the laws we already have in place because someone invents a machine that we've predicted is impossible
fuzzy711 1 year ago
@rkyeun You mean gravity is conservative in relation to leverage? There is always a loss, but the mechanical advantage ratio of leverage should at some point override gravity; simple math. I'm not saying over unity, but low cost useful conversion. We see similar usefulness in heaters and hydraulics, which no one questions.
ybomian 1 year ago
Gravity is conservative, period. It's not in relation to anything. Any path through a gravitational field that brings you back to the same point where you started has a net energy of zero. The only way to gain energy is if you go down and stay there. Going back up costs the same energy you just got. It doesn't matter how fast you do it. The beads fall from the top to bottom. They then have to be lifted back up. Gravity doesn't care about your sideways motion, you have no leverage here.

handofdust 2 years ago
Please correct your bottom line, the earth's gravitational field is a GOOD source of energy.
snpssaini 2 years ago

Yes a machine like this would never stop (assuming gravity will never stop), but the fact that its being powered by gravity means that it's not running off of itself, and is therefore not perpetual.
fuzzy711 2 years ago
no it will stop cause powered by gravity would mean getting no energy (yes, right)
if the divices it self wouldnt come closer to earth no work would be done and u would have a reall overunite machine...-- buit, as ZoeMarks sad right: u should learn physiks cause the gravityforces would be eaqual at both sides. ( sry, but i'm not the best in explaining)
ABaumstumpf 2 years ago

donnyandangie 2 years ago

snpssaini 2 years ago
Lots of Perpetual Motion Machines are designed like this one.
What people don't understand is the gravitational forces act on both side of the axis and are equal and there is no net turning effect. Because the device looks asymmetrical it appears to the untrained eye there is more leverage generated on on side than the other. But as leverage is product of distance and force and such product does not change with these devices there is no net twisting force. Ergo no perpetual motion.

would really like some thoughts. Writing an essay on Buddhism at the moment.
honestwolfers 2 years ago
Consider two aspects:
Perpetual motion & perpetual motion machine.
ZoeMarks 2 years ago
Once you harness energy (as in a machine) energy is lost. A burst of heat travels out into he nothingness of space and becomes part of the background noise of space.
I like to consider the universe as in transition. It'll keep expanding or collapse, but give the enormous time scale, does it matter?
Better to think of earth and how people are slowly but surely stuffing it up for future generations.
