  • i have been after this hornby model for a while now i have checked local madel shops and hattons and no 1 has it in stock i was just wandering where you got this model from?

  • @the37402bontybermo ebay I think - quite a while ago

  • @InterCity82 hornby is making the class 67 in super detail as well as the class 90 and class 92

  • this is also the same loco that is used to haul the london to kent leg of the orient express, so put this with your pullmans and bingo! Agatha Christie would be proud. But the Royal train is what its really for.

  • Is it possible to mount kadee couplers on to it? if so, do you know how?

  • @Mrg610 - just pull out the tension-lock coupler, then insert your kadee one into the NEM socket.

  • want...1:-)

  • @intercity82

Please could you tell me what that silver thing is on the top of the locomotive is if you know?

  • @ClassA4Mallard - it's the exhaust or part f the exhaust manifold as far as I know.

  • Hi Intercity

I got this train. Its awesome: brilliant runner and superb detail.

    Stanier8F

Ps could everyone look at Winley Railway

    Thanks

  • stood next to the real thing yesterday :)

  • @CorporalKinsa - oh cool! :D

  • could you possibly show a video on how to open up the class 67 so you can dcc it? im struggling to get it open and haven't found any where on the internet that shows how to do it. it would be much appreciated

  • @dgsilverman - ahhh, so basically chip a Class 67, from start to finish?

  • @InterCity82 ye basically, i know you're soon going on a break, but it would be much appreciated. It's one of the locos i bought from s&j after seeing your video on that

  • @InterCity82 managed to find a solution, but thank you anyway

  • I HAZ THIS

but i haz a dc layout

    in us

    AND A CLASS 66

  • have you thort of geting sound decoders?

  • She and the class 66 are very similar to the Irish class 201 infact the class 66 and class 201 have the same engines both are amazing trains but the class 201 is closer to home :)

  • @InterCity82 ok thanks.

  • Because I run my loco's and rolling stock at sensible speeds and on clean track, But sometimes they still derail? inparticular an original yellow shell tanker, Any advice?

  • @TrainsHornby - it could be the couplings - check what happens as it derails - and it's just locos - not loco's

  • That loco can go real fast at speed, but i was wondering how often do you derail your trains or coaches?

  • @TrainsHornby - my locomotives and rolling stock very rarely suffer from a derailment - good track, clean wheels and sensible speeds help to keep it that way.

  • i saw the real thing when the queen visited my hometown of Stafford :)

  • @123robzombie i saw it at bescot :L

  • Does this loco have nem coupling's? it

  • @Pearson4472 - they're not NEM couplings

  • On my class 67, I'm sure I have much wider couplings. Is it just me? I bought the loco from Castle Trains (in Warwick) last summer. Have Hornby released a newer version?

It's a good loco, but it looks cheap and basic next to my ATW Class 57.

  • @OliR98 - it is old tooling. I think it may even be ex-Lima tooling. It's definitely time for it to be re-done. Try taking a look at the class 50 or 60 by Hornby... they blow the pants off an ATW class 57. I know as I have all three! (not all videos up yet tho). As for the coupling... it could be an older model yes.

  • got the loco and three carriages. it is a brilliant loco :)

  • can i ask u 1 thing well it is how do u aford all that stuff?????????????

  • @Megacoolcat2000 - not smoking or drinking (much) definitely helps :)

  • I seen the real thing at Manchester Oxford road yesterday as I was waiting for my train to get to Liverpool.

  • Ive heard on the real loco that the fuel tank canot be filled to full, that's becuase it makes it unstable when going round corners at high speed.

  • I swear that loco that was on the bridge was there in the summer update and in the exact same place.

  • @RCProductionable - yes this video was filmed at the same time. I had a backlog of 40 odd videos to get through.

  • I am getting five 12-wheel pullman coaches but I was wondering what are the most powerful steam and diesel loco's because by layout has a steep gradient on it. Thanks, Ieuan

  • @istich123 - the strongest loco I have is a class 37 from Vi-Trains but that's not really suitable for pullman coaches, so I recommend a 9F.

  • excellent review :D

im considering buying a class 67 in wrexham and shropshire livery

  • Can you do a vid of the 67 pulling the coaches? Another great vid btw

  • @Intercity82 - no I havent m8, aint got the box no more :-(

  • I'm new to model-railyways and I love your videos and revues, and I was wondering, how do 'edit' locos(wether, paint, etc)

    Thank-you

  • ok nice 1 tahh cant wait to see the vids hehe

  • I bet she good pulling the queens train.

  • love hornby so much!!!!! hate Hong Kong so little hornby trains...

  • @intercity82 that would be sweet

  • She looks matted!Beautiful colour too

  • can you

recommend a hornby set good for starter set

  • @legocoletor87 - it depends on how much you would like to spend?

  • The 67 is a very nice looking loco in my opinion :) I love the idea of a 'Queens Messenger'... and she's the 5th one produced!... 67005! Awesome opening video :)

  • @2002And - thanks for the comment! :)

  • nice train. will probaly have to get one i think

  • lol another DCC bag have you make a shirt out of them yet :)

with all the locos you unpack for us, how many locos do you have now in total?

  • @ShaurntheSheep - the last count was made in the summer of 2010 and I counted 72 locos and over 220 items of rolling stock. But that figure is now very out of date. (soon to be corrected by the new website and database that are being built)

  • Terrific video as usual! Not my cup of tea though...can't stand anything to do with "the royals". Bunch of useless parasites IMO.

  • @clusterfak - haha lol well there is that but the locomotive itself is pretty nice and you could always built your layout in a world where the royal family have long since been disbanded and the train is used for private parties instead? lol

  • @intercity82 yes you are indeed right. they are american made. the 66s like you mentioned were made by general motors for EWS in 1998 for the JM revoloution. being made in canada, they incorporate american fuel tankers, the 59s being sister engine to 66s also are the same, and 67s being 1 class higher than 66s incorporate them aswell.

  • @TheIntercityhst - thanks for the info!

  • hi do you no if the Hornby R1139 Blue Rapier set is a good set cos i am thinking of geting it

  • @legocoletor87 If you're after something highly toy-like, the Blue Rapier is good. If you're after any sort of decent quality the full-price Train Pack is the way to go.

  • @CJ19Productions ok thank you

  • @CJ19Productions - I think the term 'toy-like' is slightly inaccurate. It's not a toy, they have models to cater for that (primarily the Thomas and Friends range). But it certainly isn't as detailed as the one found in the train pack. But then, there's a difference in price too. Some people might not be able to afford and/or justify the higher cost of the train pack one. So there's pros and cons for both really.

  • @legocoletor87 - it's an ok set as far as I know but I think the train pack containing a higher quality model.

  • @InterCity82 ok thank you really apreceate your help

  • Very nice review once again! I think the parts in the extra accessories pack that you couldn't recognise are "object-deflectors", which were recommended to be placed on all trains after the Polmont rail accident in 1984 after a DMU collided with a cow and flew off the line; object deflectors could have prevented this, sadly.

Steam engines had vertical rods in front of their wheels for the same reason, and Hornby put them on too; take a look and you'll probably see. Thanks for the video again.

  • @Rabbitbunvoo - thanks for the info! I shall check that out for sure.

  • Nice review! Such a shame it dosent have red rear lights it really puts me off owning one. Hornby can be lazy somtimes. Your right about the colour its very regal :)

  • @ApacheBravo - hehe, hey it's not justHornby. Bachmann are guilty of it too. My class 40 has no lights at all!

  • @InterCity82 Ahhh well maby one day both will stop the laziness and give us what we want!!! :)

  • Are you going to do a video of this train pulling her coaches

  • @RCProductionable - yes, with Liz too.

  • It actually sounds like a 67 loco!

  • @ianjackiemattlee - haha lol, yeah!

  • Hornby have dumped the tissue paper, that's good!

  • @RCProductionable - We will see I guess ! :)

  • GM (general motors) make the 67's..... nice vid m8

  • @zaccee1996 - thanks!

  • Wow shes amazing!

  • @tpe18509 - she's not bad, not bad at all. :)

  • @Intercity82 - Awesome as always m8 :-) I have a class 67 "rapid" in the EWS livery, was never gonna have one till I saw one pulling out of Crewe Station, then it was like WOW!!! :-)

  • @Class66Rocks - oh nice! Have you done a vid on it?

  • i think that has just persuaded me to buy one

  • @TRAINALEX100 - you can get her in multiple liveries, I like the EWS one too.!

  • They should still use steam for the royal train.

  • @lordmattis94 - I think they do on special occasions.

  • very beutiful but when are you going to do the video of the Royal train coaches (the surprize)

  • @modeltrainmad12 - I might as well make that a big, combined and special video now I have her too plus another surprise! :)

  • I am not a big fan of modern locomotive but this locomotive its very nice and I like the livery she is in.

  • @penninefilms - yeah, she't not bad is she? Quite smart just parked up in a sation or siding, :)

  • i nearly bought one of these in an auction but it went to high

  • @MrJezza31 - ahh bummer. Well I think she was about erm... £40 I think?

  • The royal trains color is Blackberry Black, and the bits that you put the accessories on is a snow plough

  • @Class59Cameron - ahh thanks for the info!

  • Looks quite good i like it she looks really smart in that livery

  • Looks good.

  • When I said axle I mention bogey BTW

  • I have a question for anyone to answer. I am getting Hornby pullmans soon but I have a steep gradient on my layout. Apart from the class 73 and the bournmouth belle soon to come out, which loco should I get to pull it. I already have a 56 in EWS livery would that be okay or do I need something more suitable, preferably something with six wheels on each axle to match the pullmans I am getting. Thanks, Ieuan

  • @istich123 If you want a steam loco i would get Clan Line which pulls the British Orient Express, but if you want a diesel i would get a Class 67

  • Great stuff. I cannot wait until Hornby bring out newly tooled ones, with all lights, cab lights, sprung buffers etc!

  • @Javelin395 - ahh yes! I'll drink to that Jack! :)

  • Nice one! Liking the 67s! You deffo need to get a one in DBS Red! They're lush! There's a cheap 56/66 as well (Can't remember which) lol

  • @itfcsam - hehe well I want one in EWS too but Craig wants one in EWS manager's train livery.

  • @InterCity82 EWS Managers train livery ftw! My 67 is my smoothest runner, second hand too. Never had problems with it... Until I dropped it! But that problem was just a cracked body, still runs fine!

  • actually the class 67 was built by alstom in spain, though it is technically a high speed class 66 they were not made over in the states

  • @branchlinedisaster - oh right! Thanks for that. I shall check it out and annotate the vid as neccessary.

  • a nice smooth loco will look good with royal train

  • @jaannetts16 - yeah, maybe I could use both locos too! One at each end?! :)

  • The 4 DB Schenker Classes are

    67016, 66152, 37670 and 59206

  • @Whizzer1 Auctully Its 67018, Oh, And You Forgot 37419.

  • @4008redrum oh yeah i forgot 37419 i meant 67018 not 67016 but i accidentally pressed 6 instead of 8

  • @Whizzer1 37419 dont forget. 67018 not 016

  • @Whizzer1 And 60011 Is In Red Now.

  • good video.i need to get myself a class 67 soon!

  • very good video class 67's are awesome either one i recommend is the new DB Schenker class 67

  • EMD is correct - I think they made the Sheds too. Nice engine! Saw this very one last summer with an excursion train at Liverpool Lime Street.

  • @streamlinedtrains - nice! I shall check out who made them and annotate the video - seems to be some confusion. Thank the Lord fo... I mean thank Jimmy Wales for Wikipedia! :)

  • looking nice so hows the railway room coming along for the real model railway you will build thx

  • @pyronathanpyro - very well thank you. There have been a lot of developments! It's a MASSIVE project and I will upload vids on it when I can! :) And when I'm ready to.

  • Its amazing! The EWS managers train next then?

  • @LMS16440 - ahhh yes! Please buy me one! :D

  • Great, i will get my 67 from the EWS Mangers train pack.

  • @itgamer100 *jealous* lol

  • I saw Queen's Messenger fly through Hereford. Blooming Loud. The 67s are good. We had one at club in Wrexham and Shropshire (RIP).

  • @TheWelshMarches - I have never seen one in real life - I'd love to!

  • @InterCity82 go to peterborough or st pancreas there is always one there

  • Any chance of a video of her pulling the Train it self?

  • @thing2liv - yes, the whole train and Liz will be out too.

  • It's a shame they didn't include more lights, the top headlight is a bit of a feature of the real thing, and Hornby's model is lacking. However I do like the 67 models and they look great on any modern layout. Shame I haven't built one for mine to run on!!

  • @antsimkins These were actually made by Lima and Hornby took on the tooling.

  • @CJ19Productions Good point, hopefully one day they might review the tooling and super-detail it...

Or at least do full directional lighting.

  • @antsimkins I did read somewhere that new Class 67s are due next year. Some plonk decided to put them in this year's release listings!

  • @CJ19Productions - Lima no longer exist. Hornby bought them out and as you said took over the tooling moulds too. She is desperately in need of a re-tool. But at least we have a model of her, full stop, I guess. Bachmann, Heljan and Vi-Trains don't make a 67 at all! (yet)

  • @antsimkins - it's shame but at least we have a model of her. No one else has done so. Maybe she'll be re-tooled and made even better?

  • why all engines in the uk have yellow noses

  • @gtasandman - it improves visibility. An engineer on the track is more likely to notice a bright yellow thing approaching him than one that blends into the background.

  • @InterCity82 oh ok but on some of the new trains the yellow gets smaller

  • Now the queen can travel in modern style! Shame it's to small...

  • i got that loco but in the normal ews livery!!! :)

  • @A4Express -nice! :D

  • wow She looks wonderful i want one now :)

  • last time I saw that loco I was walking up a set of incredibly weedy sidings, when suddenly she coasted under the nearby footbridge, looking pretty neglected, pulling several 4 wheel tankers on a trip freight. Considerably less than Royal duty!

  • @matthewpeter - hehe how odd?

  • @InterCity82 not really, they have to use the loco on other things or its not a cost effective use of a loco. The 67 was one of Lima's better models, sadly it did nothing to improve their sales! Glad hornby are making better use of it.

  • @matthewpeter - well the royal family aren't cost effective either but we don't see them building houses, emptying bins or working in Asda. lol

  • Ive Made A Mistake

about 2 years ago i saw dis loco along a 66 gbrf both by hornby

i got the 66 but left the 67 and i am annoyed now lol

    I WANT DAT 67 NOT THE 66

  • @HornbyLad1000 - just have both! I'm sure you'll be able to in time?! :)

  • is this your live show?

  • @ShaurntheSheep he means it ll be on (live) at 12.00

  • @modellerman oh right

  • @ShaurntheSheep - all sorted :)

  • @modellerman - yes that's it! :)

  • @ShaurntheSheep - there is no live show. This was just the re-scheduled video.

  • wow what a nice train. makes me sad i dont have the room or the money for a train set

  • @jimik89 - you might not yet - but I didn't once upon a time too. In the meantime you're welcome to come visit my one and help out! :)

  • I would love one of these but Im getting the class 66 in EWS livery

  • @RCProductionable - ahh that'll be nice too!

  • very nice model.

  • Ol Queeny, a first class review lol xD

  • Nice,

Saw it at Skipton with 67006 with charter train.

Might get one as I am now modelling Skipton :)
