@freshaca3 Actually, the Savage series was designed to be a combination RTS and FPS game. Incidentally, the game is repeatedly compared to DotA, although I fail to see any strict similarities.

How about most of the skills the heroes have in Savage2 got a corespondent in DoTA ... isn`t it strange? ... you know what i hate the most? .. it`s not you guys copying parts of another game...it`s usual nowadays and if you`re smart,you can do it without rising too many questions and doubts..but you keep on insisting that you are unique and that you were the first to implement certain stuff...which is fail...DoTA is way older than Savage;).

@kuzia1984 You're petty silly, aren't ya? What spells, preytell, were "copied" from DotA? I don't think you can make that claim at all. The only similarities I can really see are the fact that A) there are lanes B) you gain experience as a soldier, and C) you can buy items.

Aside from that, which isn't even specific to DotA as "AoS" (Aeon of Strife) was the first type of map in WC3 to develop this style, there are no other similarities.

@freshaca3 hm this is rts + dota, big differenz, but many similarieties yes. Dota is more about general skill - BTW I play League of legends instead of Dota. And Savage 2 is more about BIG ACTION and Atmosphere. just more fun. both very good games.

@Alexon88 skill in savage is much more important. try fighting against a team of retards with a player with 200+ sf on their team. hell carry like a beast, if you arent good you wont be doing damage. in hon/dota you alll do the exact same damage.

@Alexon88 Actually, I'd contend this game is much more about skill than DotA. The first person elements as well as the block system and the need to maneuver around your enemy during combat means there is a higher raw skill cap whereas in DotA you can simply pick Lina or similar such hero and just nuke an enemy into oblivion.

I have one question. When I launch Savage 2 and log in, you know there's a "Checking For updates" screen? It usually takes 2-3 seconds to check, but for me it take like a minute or two. And same with searching for servers. Help me please :D

HoN is basically an example of what would happen if you cloned dota on a modern engine and then moved forward and in some ways away from dota with subsequent patches. Try it out sometime - you'll see that they're pretty similar, although HoN is generally much better organized, smoother, more responsive, etc.

The game was pretty close for a while - both teams were basically fighting over mid without making much progress. Beasts had built a bunch of sublairs trying to hold mid, but only that latest one managed to survive long enough to get a scar up.

If humans had gotten a scar up, they probably would've been able to do a similar rush.
