  • the look of determination that sets in on ricks face...always gives me goosebumps!

  • THAT FRIKIN SUCKS!!!! i was parying shed live, but NOOO!!!

  • @kableguy33 I feel ya... I hate it. She was such a cute little girl...

  • They had some balls to shoot children

  • Why did Lori let Carl watch that whole thing? Cover his face, get to the farmhouse, run you silly bitch!

  • well they just massacred all of hershels friends and family >.>

  • I dont think Rick stepped forward cause it showed him as the true leader of the group. I think he stepped forward to kill her because he felt responsible for her becoming a walker, and he was trying to make peace with himself.

  • This sure says a lot about Shane and Rick. Shane was all brave and big when he was breaking the barn open, but where was this bravery when Sophia walked out? Rick was the only one who had the balls to do anything. Add in the fact that Shane is extremely dangerous to Lori, Rick, and anyone who stands in his way, and you have me defecting from Team Shane to Team Rick.

  • @ZeldaFreak1987 ok but the thing tho is that shane is right about alot of things...that old farmer stored those zombies as if leaving them in there will cure them...they are zombies..once a zombie, a bullet to the head is the only cure...shane wants to be safe...and who can blame him

  • @TheVenturino123 Yeah, Shane is right about a lot of things. But, I could see Rick's side too. If they coorperated maybe they could have stayed. (sp sucks, I know)

I'm unsure if they do stay, though. This is the last episode I saw. :/

  • Best series in a long time.. And I'm not even in to the zombie theme..

  • "Chill guys, I've done this before."

  • This was a watershed moment(For Carol)

  • I feel bad for Carol(Sophia's mom I think), that was her only child and was gone, I'd feel the same if my kid was a zombie, that must've been really hard for her. From what Carol thinks, I think she's thinking of a suicidal thought and wanting to join Sophia in Heaven... RIP Sophia

  • Madison Lintz is one hell of a little actress!!

  • Not to be cold or heatrtless buuut...

I don't feel Sophia fell properly when she was shot! Her head showed absolutely no reaction after being shot! On top of that, she fell sideways and there was also no blood spatter; just look at the 1st girl walker Rick has to shoot for reference of what I'm talking about! The way she fell looked more like they were just playing!

Believe me, I felt the same emotion at this scene as all the others up until that failed fall; execution is key at these moments!

  • @KierTanaka Welcome to The Walking Dead. Some of the most piss poor effects on amc.

  • @KierTanaka just sayin, it looks like she fell foward but her body weight threw her to the side, either way, this was a fail

  • @TheRolltide130 I agree!

  • @KierTanaka Relax, it's just a show.

  • @tychecks I know that which why I'm only petitioning to boycott the show instead of blasting the cast members brains out to show the effects crew how it's done properly!

    Obviously a joke!

Look everything I said before was just how much the scene was ruined for ME and a few others have agreed with me!

  • @KierTanaka I thought it was perfect, and was actually closer to how it looks in real life.

  • @eaglemonty05 MAYBE so; but then why was the first girl walker Rick had to put down projected back so violently and with so much blood spatter! Actually, blood spatter isn't my peeve; in the clip from the show someone posted("Little girl?")she flew back and in this one she fell to the side is all I'm sayin!

  • @KierTanaka The Sophia kill was more disturbing, and better choreographed, because of it's realism. ppl shot in the head often drop like a ton of bricks: View at 0:25:

    /watch?v=5zJV9l0dWwg

  • @eaglemonty05 Again, maybe so, I'm no forensic expert myself but in the clip you showed me it looked like the shot may have come in at an angle! Anyway, look at the clip which should be on the sidebar titled "Little girl?" and you'll see why I felt she should've fallen back with a ton of blood spatter! Not that I really require any amount of blood for it to be realistic, my only concern is with the direction she fell!

  • @KierTanaka The trajectory of the bullet, often doesn't influence the direction the body falls. The guy in the vid was shot in the forehead by the officer he was aiming at .

  • @eaglemonty05 Oh for crying out loud! If you don't agree, that's fine; but you do admit she could have fallen any direction! Nevertheless, if her head had shown ANY/ANY/ANY reaction to being shot then we would not be doing this right now, might be you & someone else but not me!

  • @KierTanaka Getting shot in the head would be quick, it'd be painful for 1 second, then go away. It is possible to survive a shot in the head, as long as a bullet hits a blood vessel and not the skull.

  • @AQWEzioTomas WOW!!! I have no idea what you're talkin about exactly, but that has mostly nothing to do with what I was talkin about! I was only talkin about her bodily reaction to bein shot and no blood spatter neither but that too is probably possible, I guess! If you don't agree, that's fine as well!

  • 2:08 = BOOM HEADSHOT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • BALLS!

  • @TheParisianCupcake Yeah, but it also shows that nobody is safe in a zombie apocalypse

  • Excuse the pun but when Rick holds the gun up the shot is great

  • The acting and filming in this is just amazing.

  • This scene equals Emmy and Golden Globe Nominations for the show and Andrew Lincoln (Rick)!!

  • Notice how Daryl drops his gun to hold Carol...it's symbolic I trust.

  • anyone know what song is playing here?????

  • Rick: *shoots Sophia*

Me: *dry sobbing hysterically* NOOOO WTF MANNNNN! *Screaming at the TV*

  • how come the Chinese man (forgot his name) not see Sophia when he saw all the zombies in the barn. Cant wait till the new season today!!!!!

  • @cookieradar0000 lol he's korean

  • @cookieradar0000 He's Korean and his name is Glenn. Well if you think about it, he looked at the barn for probably a good 5 seconds.

  • ok so every character has cool points. by doing this rick's cool points just skyrocketed up 2000!! But shane and deryl are still in the lead :)

  • @8100woodman if it is then why the sudden change?

  • Anyone seen that movie The Mist?

I knew Carol was in it, but I just realized that so are Dale and Andrea...

Just one of those things I felt like sharing because I'm lonely at the moment. lol

  • @jadeezy21 Awesome! Did you btw knew that Dale also is one of the guards in The Green Mile? In a younger version of course! :D

  • @svahnv I actually haven't seen The Green Mile!

  • @jadeezy21 Keep ya chin up and thanks for sharing.

  • @jadeezy21 The guy who plays Morales is to.. His character is even named Morales. And I'll be your friend so your not lonley.

  • @SaneButStrange - Yay I have a friend! I just get lonely sitting in this hospital almost by myself. lol

  • @jadeezy21 awful movie like those people in this show however

  • @jadeezy21 you´re so cute :)

  • @esrapk - So are you :)

  • The true leader of the group is Rick, and this scene proved it. Not anyone, not even shane, was willing to step forward and kill her.

  • @Joseph100star i beg to differ just because daryl had to hold carol b

  • @clownpsychotik Daryl couldn't even bring himself to kill Carol's bastard husband, so why would he be more willing to kill her daughter; he wouldn't, believe me.

  • @Joseph100star ......he's still a badass

  • @Joseph100star yeah, shane can kill someone elses friends but not his own. cant blame daryl though he really the only one that had faith they would find her

  • @Joseph100star Heheh, My name is Shane :)

  • @Joseph100star He was also lost her, so I think he thought it was necessary to shoot her.

  • @tychecks Agreed, another contributing factor of guilt

  • @Joseph100star Rick isn't a good leader but neither is Shane. Rick is too "human" and naive, Shane is too mean and ruthless. A leader should be between those two.

  • @milban92 If you ask me, since the season resumed-Shane is slowly becoming Rick&Rick is surely becoming Shane!

  • @Joseph100star I think it's an unessasry hate for shane. A zombie apocalypse would bring the shits out of everyone. We all just choose to hate him, which is why he's mean. Shae is badass anyways, the whole why is it still comming scene was hillarious

  • @Joseph100star Id let the mom kill her

  • and im glad its not like the comics almost why would you wanna see something exactly like the fucking comics you already kno whats gunna happen this show is fucking epic hope this goes to alot of seasons

  • best fucking show eva and i never been a zombie fan this show has me addicted but yea sophia was only a child but I figured she was dead if not turned because she wouldnt run that fucking far in the woods nor survive being how little she is

  • This has to be one of the greatest shows ever made..

  • @coolguitarist69 i agree 100 percent

  • "That "Python" should have taken her head clean off or at least knocked the back of her head out!"

  • @MrWINNSLAW A Python can shoot 38 caliber ammo as well. Not just the 357 magnum. Which can explain why the shot didn't take her head off.

  • what would hae done to add a bigger twist is 5 seonds after i shot sophia i would hae walked up to hershal and said ur net and about a half second later i would hae shot him in the fukin fae

  • if i was rick i would have turned around and shot hershel in the fucking head

  • @souldragon121 Why? He said Otis was the one to put them in there. Or at least that's what we will find out on Sunday.

  • I honestly thought they would find her alive.

  • If you read the comics, then she lives! oh and they're headed to a prison next if they follow the order of location in da comics

  • This episode is as fresh as it was to me when I first saw. My face just dropped... what a heartbreaking ending.

  • @TemplarReturns Same with me, damn moment.

  • i remember watching this and seeing the legs and being like "oh no there's gonna be a little boy zombie that they need to kill now how sad :(" then it's sophia and i feel like a douche.

  • Shane is right in all senses! sorry moralist but that`s how we must do to survive to a zombie apocalypse

  • I feel sorry for Carol :(

  • @TheParisianCupcake I agree with you as well. I feel bad for Carol and also Carl as well. I told myself I don't like the endind part.

  • @amycallie123 I didn't like the ending either. WHY TE HELL DID SHE HAVE TO DIEE :(

  • @TheParisianCupcake I know. I was crying so much and that I had tears coming down on my cheeks. And that I had to stump my feet and saying this to Rick on my TV. I told him nononononono Rick. When I saw the gun pointing at Sophia head. I was holding my ears tight. Oh, great here I go again crying. If i was there I smack the directors telling them off and saying this to them. I DON'T LIKE THE ENDING OF SOPHIA PUT HER ALIFE AND I MEAN IT DUMBASS. Like that to their face.

  • @amycallie123 I was crying too. Who the hell came with the idea to let Sophia die?? She was a perfect example to prove that it IS possible to survive a zobie apocalpse (when she was alive).

  • @TheParisianCupcake it was based on the comic events

  • @BoltGundam But Sophia didn't die in the comics

  • Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they took way too much time on all this drama bs? Glenns love life, Andrea wanting to shoot and the stupid old man. Kill him and take over the place. It's the zombie apocolypse remember?. Leaving would be death. It's safe and noone can tell them no or get them in trouble. I hope Rick hurts Shane. Without water Rick would've died in a week. So Shane took advantage of his wife in 1-2 weeks. I get she was emotional but that's really dirty. She's a hussie.

  • @RyRidge The clue's in the word "Drama". I like it. It's different to your average zombie flick in that it actually goes deep into real every day issues but in a zombie apocalypse setting. It's all subjective really. The reasons I like it are the probably the exact same reasons you hate it.

  • So the last 10 mins of the whole season will keep me watching. I was losing faith with all the corny drama stuff. It had flashes of the first season. There ware times when they stayed true to the first season but I think AMC could easily take this white knuckle thrill ride into an emotional heartfealt sappy drama. I've been waiting my whole life for a good zombie apocolypse show. The first time I saw the commercial I flipped and then they actually made a great show and I'm not easily impressed.

  • Sophia could have stayed a kid zombie in their squad would be cool

  • This episode makes you consider how you might view the zombies differently if they were your family, friends etc

  • One of the best scenes of Walking Death!! Think about it, Sophia was the symbol of hope, everyone was hopping that she was going to be fine. This scene represents a Dantesque message of "Give up hope". Rick steps on as a leader in a reaffirmation of his character, and join both groups by killing one of his own.

    Very well putted together!!!

  • Nobody knows the pain of leadership, until they lead...

"Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great... some achieve greatness...

... and some have greatness thrust upon them."

  • and second its a tv show people not real world or jersey shore who cares what the fuck they do its acting

  • haha best part of the whole season, its what got me hooked in the first place was when he killed the little girl at the gas station , how often do you see tv shows/series showing that kind of shit, pure excellence

  • Hey am i the only one that thinks rick resembles sheriff woody from toy story

  • I wish Shane wasn't dead in the comics.

  • I wanna blast some zombiess head off...

  • Seriously though, read the comics. You see that Rick is way more, i suppose "badass", than Shane in this. And when i say this i mean the 3rd + 4th comics. Just read them, then you'll see.

  • I don't know why people are acting like Rick's wrong to not go killing all the barn zombies. He wants the same thing as Shane but respects the fact that they're guests. He's less selfish too because he wants to help everyone while Shane only cares about himself, Lori and Carl. They both want safety, but have their own methods.

  • I just saw the ending. The movies are very good. Movies now days have negative endings which are let downs instead of heroic where the goal is accomplished. The barn scene is a very good though and did make for a "gran finale". The shows kept me on the edge of my seat and I kept coming back for more. I watched 3 episodes per outing and my favorite character is the back packer that saves the Sheriff followed by Andrea & the Sheriff.

  • Did this series scare the living fuck out of anyone else? I'm 41 and I watched a movie called "Zombie" when I was ten and had nightmares of riding my bike to school and being overtaken. This series has taken TV to a whole new level like 24 once did. I blew it off as dumb and then watched the whole thing on New Years eve as it was so compelling I couldn't stop watching. No wonder this won so many awards. They did a great job of projecting such realism that only films deliver for the most part.

  • Is it just my dirty mind or does any one else notice how Daryl's hand is totally on Carol's chest at 1:15? And then he slyly removes it . . . :D

    nm, probably an accident.

  • @Aziexxx Good catch

  • Rick really has it in for gunning down the young ladies :O

  • Such A Shame You So Want To Find sophia And When She Walked Out Of The Barn Like That I Actualy Had Tears Running Down My Eyes Th whole Series Was Spent Trying To Save Her And Just to think They made It That She Died On Her Own And Andrea Always moans Abot AMys Death Atleast She Had Her Sister By Her Side The Moment She Died Btw Im Not Saying Her Death Wast Sad just Making A Point .

  • @110CheekyChick I'm confus.

  • the music settles this scene perfectly

  • I "liked" both of the top comments. Shane and Rick are both right.

  • You see that walker in the well. Dont you think it looked like otis

  • This moment was a serious punch to the gut. When Rick shoots Sophia, it's like he's shooting his hope that things will ever get better. What's kept they going up to this point was that things will improve and now they realize that things will only stay the same or get worse.

There hopes were turned to ice in a snowstorm of walkers but they were not shattered until Sophia stumbled out of that barn. There are no saviors or heroes, just the walking dead!

  • What is the name of final song?

  • Lol at people actually debating each other on this corny melo dramatic show, ur like nerds with a twist of white trash for your love of crappy tv

  • @hiphoponeworld you need to get shot in the knee cap.

  • @sartte I agree lol

  • noooo!!!

    or yay

  • what a bullshit. i cant take this serious.

  • i feel kind of ripped off because they strung us on for seven episodes, then it turns out she's dead, she lives in the comic book, but I do understand that they are not following it completely so... I just wanted all their time spent on this farm justified by finding her, now I feel like it has just been dragging on to make this scene more dramatic and emotional...

  • @TheElemental1991 Well you can't forget that in the series, Hershel's group and the Atlanta group form very close bonds, and they needed those ties there previously if they're going where we think they are. We needed time for Lori's baby announcement, Hershel's obvious resentment toward killing zombies, plus time for Shane to beat his chest and try to take over, along with the relationship between Maggie and Glenn. They do take their time, but it's all very important.

  • @XNewsiesX true, I guess I didn't think of it that way, we have seen so much of them now that the bonds they formed will make those relationships more meaningful in later episode.

  • Guess next time Shane won't talk about how Rick doesn't have what it takes to survive

  • darn...the WD is just AWESOME!

  • 1:07 the zombie laying down face up on her right appears to be breathing if you look closely enough.

  • The thing that makes me so mad, is that I am POSITIVE that Hershal knew that the little girl in his barn was Sophia, and that even after they knew about the walkers he didn't tell them. There is just no way that he had a 12 year old girl in his barn and didn't realize that she might have been Carols daughter.

  • No wonder they couldn't find her.

  • @breezeman199 creeria que es uno de los mejores capitulos de la serie

  • At first, hearing the small snarls, I thought it may have been Hershal's stepson. Then I cried when I saw her, and her mother crying just hurt so bad. It just wasn't fair, and no one wanted to kill Carol's daughter right in front of her. I'll bet Rick felt so guilty, considering he was the one who ran off into the woods to save her life. He was the one to keep pressing the idea of finding Sophia. And then he just had to be the one to put her down. So much emotion.

  • I Love The Walking Dead ...

from Saudi Arabia....Happy they had to stop the show .. coz i have tests this month ;/

  • Hands down, the most touching episode of the series. You could see real emotions, character development and conflict. Best way to go into a mid-season break.

  • Honestly, it's the mother's cries that get me most. Shit made me tear up, man.

  • 0:11 the moment, when countless fans of a show, all about zombies. Wished for less zombies.

  • @bdcollecter I was like, "Dude, they just need to find Sophia already. And kill the damn zombies in the barn. And something really big needs to happen, because this dramafest is getting annoying."

    Then I saw Sophia come out and I said, "Oh no...." I felt so bad. ;_;

  • @CertifiedSlytherin You felt bad? All Sophia did was cause a bunch of problems and nearly kill everyone. Fuck that moron. She served no purpose in their group anyway. She couldn't kill zombies and all she did was get lost... The Zombie Apocalypse is Natural Selection to the biggest scale.

  • @unparallelshadows Well that's what normal people do. Feel bad for that little girl. Normal anyway.

  • Like if you cant wait for Feb.12 !!!!

  • @NewGenerationCaRbon Disliked.

Because you cannot contribute anything meaninful to the conversation if you're one of those "omg like if you love zombies" or "thumbs up if you think Daryl is damn sexy" (which he is) Instead why don't you just post that you cannot wait for Feb. 12, post your reasons why and see how many more positive responses you get.

    Try starting a conversation.

  • this episode turned me back on to the Season 2!!

  • Rick HAD to be the one to shoot Sophia. He was trying to convince Hershal to get rid of the people in the barn by convincing him that they weren't people anymore. By shooting Sophia, Rick was showing Hershal that he believed his own argument because he obviously cared about her. MY question is: why didn't the person who brought Sophia to the barn let everyone know that they had a little girl and MAYBE it was the person they had been searching for? Broke my heart.

  • @ricachica4 actually on talking dead the producers said that the person who brought the zombies to the farm was otis. so if shane hadn't sacrificed otis, he could've possibly told them that she was in the barn. which also means that sophia died the day she was lost, since the day after they did the whole search party thing and the accident with carl occurred

  • Sophia could not have been saved no matter what. Obviously she was bitten, died, renamiated, and then captured by Otis and thrown into the barn.

She did not go into into the barn alive or else there would be nothing left of Sophia.

  • Just because he showed a moment of hesitance towards the notion of killing a little girl he knew and was searching for doesn't mean Shane is wrong; it shows that he is still human and not a complete monster. If anything, Rick's actions validated Shane's previous point. Seriously, they both are doing the same thing, just taking a different approach...And Rick did look badass when he was walking up to Sophia

  • @Mightofeverson The hesitance was pretty much because Carol was there too. Rick knew right away what had to be done, but he wasn't going to eagerly pop Sophia in the face infront of her mother like she was just another walker.

  • @Mightofeverson LOL,the very first zombie we seen rick put down in season 1,was a little girl XD

Anyways Shane can talk,Thanks to him Jim,Amy and others are dead.cant wait for february :)

  • @Mightofeverson i think Shane was wrong, he wanted to take the camp and tell them what to do, and could not make the hard decisions like Killing Sophia because in reality he would have done what the family did, no one wanted to kill sophia but Rick showed his dominance and shut Shane down, maybe now Shane will stay in his place as the second in charge when something happens to Rick

  • Poor Carl, now who is he gonna date?

  • @YoungbloodJake That black guy?

  • what do u mean that black guy

  • @RisingDead14 Carl can date that big black guy

  • @Leifstuan I was saying that Carl and sophia were the only REASONABLE lol couple unless they introduce a new girl Carls age

  • ha, that big black guys named T Dog

  • @RisingDead14 Ah, that's right. I can't remember because he never says anything.

  • Im a Shane fan myself, but i thought Rick looked totally badass as he walked up to Sophia, anyone agree?

  • @Norminator87 It made Shane look like a wimp ass bitch, but I'm glad Shane hesitated as it showed that he had a bit of human left.

  • I would of never thought that sophia would get killed

  • Best tv moment EVER!!!!!!

  • at 1:21 hershalls like. HA finally sophia. now they can feel it. NOW KILL HER!

  • this is seriously one of the best scenes I have ever watched On any TV show...the music a long with the camera angles made this soooo good especially the one close-up of ricks face fading out focusing on the gun...epic

  • In a zombie outbreak, emotions are weak, should have capped her as soon as she popped around the corner.

  • Everyone gave Hershal a hard time saying they're not people, and we need to clear them out. But the moment the group is confronted with one of their own, young Sophia, suddenly they're aren't so badass anymore. This scene shows me that Shane's wrong. Rick can survive in this world. He was the one to step up and put down Sophia.

  • @ThatNerdJStone Not a fair comparison. Hershel knew his people were in there. They had no idea Sophie was.

  • @ThatNerdJStone stfu

  • @ThatNerdJStone Yeah but they did shoot Sophia, Hershel wouldn't of shot one of his own relatives thats why they was in the barn in the first place. Harsh world with harsh decisions to be made. I would expect to be shot if I turned into one of them walkers.

  • @ThatNerdJStone fuck yeah dude. Totally true

  • @ThatNerdJStone shane dies, along with lori and the baby lol

  • @9FDproductions Not along with Lori and the baby. Shane was supposed to be dead before they leaved the camp. Lori and her baby dies at the prison.

  • @YansiEvre98 no not along WITH shane, but they still die
