If there was an older jet to ad thr vec-ing to it would be the F-5 that little thing with dual engines could twist like a top, can already give an F-15 a run for it's money. plus it's cheap, maybe re-try the F-20 project with TV and AESA radar for the export market. would be a sick little jet. I'm still amazed the USAF never fully deployed the F-5 or F-20 The F-35 is a very nice upgrade to the F-16. But the 16 does have a sexy look no wonder they call it the viper looks like a cobra.

i must say that i dont understand why they develop new planes... the f-16 is the greatest ever. why cant they just just take the f-16 skeleton and reinforce it so it can withstand more g's and put in thrust vectoring nozzles! THAT WOULD BE KICK ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First let me say I approve of the F-22. Love it....but to answer your question about why don't they improve the F-16 with TH Vectoring...they have experimented with it, and I believe you can find the video here on you tube if I'm not mistaken. Seems like they could imrove the F-16 and make it more impressive, but why upgrade an already proven fighter when you can spend billions on a brand new un-proven one...lol. I think the F-22 will be kick ass if it goes into combat against any fighter.

I totally agree with you. The Raptor is Beutiful but i have to admit that F-16 is more.. sort of delicate. Well they are outdated.. thats why we are going to change them for the JSF:P and also we'll might get them cheaper since Norway are developing a new Missile for them. The JSM (Joint Strike Missile) formerly NSM (i think) ( Naval Strike Missile)

I think the F-16 is beautiful as well. I live by Lackland AFB close to the flight line of Lackland Air Field Annex formaly Kelly Air Force base and I have the pleasure of seeing the TANG fly on a daily bases. Might try to get some footage, they land along the path of hwy 151 and it looks like you can reach up and high 5 the pilot sometimes.

NICE!:P well i cant say that i live near and AFB closest would be Ørland or Orland AFB but the 338 Tigers sometime have low flying where i live.. between the mountains. and sometimes they fly so low that they are beneath our house. ive waved a couple of times to them and sometimes they actually wave back:P thats awesome

The Fighting Falcon is affectionately known as the Viper to its pilots. Same airplane.

I've read the ACC demo profile manual and the F-15 and F-16 demos are told to hit .94 in their high speed passes, with the parameters saying if they go faster than that, to NOT push past .96 .

I said the same thing at the Thunder over the Midlands (Shaw AFB, SC) 08 airshow. Capt. Clifford (F-16) performed right before "Max" (F-22), and I realized that I never seen an F-16 demo like that before.
