@Dirtymurder Yup, the chinese sure know how to make a blade... :D Don't let the S&W logo fool You. BTW it's more or less a copy of Italian Extrema Ratio designs.
@Dirtymurder lmao that is a knife ment for killing some one or quickly disabling a leg or arm, not a multi purpose survival knife which is heavy, unwieldy not to mention harder to conceal.
I think this knife has been very popular on the tv show "24" I seen it used by Jack Bauer in seasons 1,4 and 5. Like all shows though they never show how this knife retracted on camera.
@ADROKMCA No there is no safety on these, but the button has to be pushed INTO the handle, pressing it against a desk will not cause the knife to fire. It has a sleeve around it. However it's designed to be carried in a kydex sheath.
@cubixthe i had a knife go into my leg a couple of days ago and it opened in my pocket and it is just a regular knife i have to pull it not press a botton idk how it hapened
MicroTech Knives are Military Grade Weapons designed for Anti Personel and Close Quarter Combat applications. Box cutters are Commercially produced bladed articles. If you cant afford to spend $500 on one then go with the Box Cutter.
Great video man. I understand you're not in the US and bought yours second-hand however I've been looking for one for years and if you could offer any pointers (even if it requires a trip or international shipping) I'd very grateful.
i was walking in walmart today when this old man rubs up against a metal rack and plop his illegal halo 3 falls on the ground and opens. i picked it up and closed then i had to run to catch up with him. this knife felt very solid haha
it had solid lock up but the button needed repair, he put through tough work it was scratched, and it had alot of nicks in the blade. how long has this knife been in production?
Is it a real HALO or a clone. Been wanting to buy a Microtech for a while but I just cant afford one. Any idea where to find a cheap copy some place ?
y would u spend 400 $ on carry knife ??? u can buy a glock for that money or a shotgun, what a waste, and after 400$ i wouldn't even use the thing, ill stick with Benchmade and Sog over a overpriced knife thats made for probably 70$ and i have to pay 400$ lol
Well there are some countries where it's not that easy to get a firearm licence, and not many peaple walk around with shotguns (lol), think it's a good thing for most of them... You may be right on the knife price, I actually bought this when they were $300, based on what You wrote Your benchmade is made for $30 also, don't worry :) Have a nice day and don't shoot (or stab) anyone ! :P
if You drop it in the sand You might have a problem with opening it (well, every folding knife will have problems when the sand gets in some places). If You roll in the sand much and have to have a quick access to the knife go for a fixed blade ;)
Correct me if I am wrong, but i believe that they started production of the halo again. At least they were selling them at the SHOT show in Las Vegas.
Those were Halo V prototypes, 5" blade 11" Overall - small swords ;) There will be a production version - first series will have tritium buttons and they will be around $599 MSRP.
The Halo3 (If You can find one) is ~320-380$ right now depending on version. I think it's much better than the Troodon - the Troodon has a very thin blade and it's much smaller.
Good thing MICROTECH has started producing knives again :) However they will make only 100 knives of each model in a month, that's not much. The first ones to come out will be new Ultratech 8's. Don't know if the Halo3 will be produced - will let You know when I find out.
hard to tell, they are all great knives. But if You want to do some really hard work with the knife then You should get the Socom. OTFs are not good with dirt and stuff like that.
Hahaha, I know, the Halo3 is overpriced, but then again all Microtechs are expensive. If I could help it though I would get a Microtech over a Cold Steel or Spyderco any day! My friend has a Scarab and lifted a sewer top with it! The steel though on Spyderco and even Cold Steel are pretty good.
good video. You have the makora too. lol i have the same 2 knives as well. my makora has the serrated edge though. i have the halo 2 & the M.O.D. triton dual action too. Is the halo 3 your favorite knife in your collection?
You don't have to be rich to own a lot of microtechs, although I personally know a couple people who have about 50,000.00 or more worth of knives. Now that is a lot to me.
no it doesn't. But it won't fire accidentally because you have to push the button INTO the handle about 1mm to make it fire. Beside You shouldn't carry it in your pocker in the first place ;)
lol "never been used" second hand haha. The knife was designed not for hunting, not for cutting vegtables, but for cutting and stabbing in specific another human being. So when you bought it used I hope it had "never been used"
the thing is single action has NO or very little bladeplay just like normal side opener unlike the D/A ones where you can really feel the blade moving. It's not very good if you want to use the knife... So the D/A are only good for stabbing peaple ... lol just kidding ;)
this knife is 750 haha and its only a single action

Most HALOs have super tight lockup, sometimes there might be a tiny play side to side but nothing like the Double Action models (Ultratech etc.)
