How any human could write a piece of music so beautiful is beyond me. It seems to me more than sublime; infact it might be considered miraculous. It may be similar to that being played at the entrance of the pearly gates!
Because I'm a sad person I love this music and ''tristesse'' means that in french, it means sadness, Chopin was also a sad man and his music is for sad people to find their souls and this young man he really brings ''sadnes'' to life..
good god the lad is a genius. i could never play like that in a million years, and he doesnt even need sheet music!! damn him..! one thing i have that he slightly lacks though is the passion,, but for me my passion does not translate into fine playing xD
Epic...although, a hair cut would make it sound better. and i bet i will get lots of thumbs down. keep playing though and gz. im learning to play it. im inspired...
I say to hell with all your fancy degrees and grades. Music is to be enjoyed and expressed, it's not a competition, it's not limited by 'grades'. I never took any musical educations or attended piano lessons, yet I still enjoy playing the piano by ear and sheet.
genius is somewhat exaggerating, but it was pretty good. very accomplished. could do with a bit more passion where needed and subtely where needed though.
I played it in grade 8..but I don't believe in those things, you can play Rach's 3 but if it awful it's awful, you can play Beethoven's Op. 49 sonatas but if it's great it's great.
...such beautiful music. i can play this exact same piece, but somehow its different when Gints plays it. When he plays it i picture a girl all alone in a straw hat next to windmills and beautiful green hills with daisies showering the ground. When i play it i picture a woman going out on a boat to find her lover, and then drowning D; lol Hm.... ur also quite cute too. :D lol
This music opens my heart and takes me to the past... It sets me free and brings nostalgy.... :)

Sentir, esta inmensa nostalgia de tu amor…
Vivir, sin poder transformarla en realidad,
sabiendo, que es tan breve la vida,
y estaremos distantes toda una eternidad…

Very good for a 13-year-old. He's big for thirteen, too. I like the church background for this piece.

i can't believe that he was only 13 at that time.

You play very beautifully! Gints-san!
I'm still in Grade 2 but I play pieces beyond my grade, For example Fantasie Impromptu..
I'll try this piece you just played next..
[talks to herself] Gambatte Hime!! You can do it!!
[talks to Gints]By the way, you don't look 13 to me...
Am I really that short... T.T
[talks to herself again] No..That's not possible, my friend is shorter than me, I guess
[talks to Gints]Anyways! Good luck on your next performances, or something...

can anybody tell me what grade this piece is...?
unfairplay 3 years ago
overall, it's beyond grade 8. mid-diploma level, but if you take the slow section on it's own then probably only grade 6.

thanx, i used the left foot because i had to use my right foot for the normal pedal ( the one on the right) at the same time

Amazing playing, Gints. You, sir, have definitely impressed me with this performance, thus earning you the Epic Performance Title. :D
by the way.. Why do you use your left foot to use the damper pedal? just asking

good job
but you seem a bit stiff and unemotional. Need to work on the expression and interpretation of the meaning of "tristesse."
JenLigaya 4 years ago
being 13 years old is perfect!
richardre06 4 years ago 3
I don't believe that "tristesse" is Chopin's title, but an editor's interpretation. I have seen this piece under different titles.
