  • These people annoy me, go away so I can see the giant squid in its full glory !!

  • i like the tentacles

  • wtf lol

  • this video was good

lovin this video!! leave me a comment Ex

  • these retards don't know anything they're just picking it apart because they think it looks interesting

  • These teenage high school kids hardly look qualified to talk about science yet alone given the responsibility to examine a giant squid...especially that pink haired girl.

  • never mind the squid, im more interested in the woman with the purple hair

  • Just what I was thinking!

  • hmmmmm maybe pink ?

  • squids are awesomely tasty when grilled

  • are they? i never tried squid

  • I can tell you they are so tasty.

  • taste like shit. like rubber with piss

  • @Rock0nsight

Not this badboy. The tissues of a giant squid are incredibly high in ammonia (which helps with buoyancy).

  • wraithgod knows what he/she is talking about.

i also know that squids hav some of the largest neurones (nerve cells) of all organisms. and we humans use squids to conduct research on them scientific areas, etc.

    need i say more?

  • Fake rubber squid, clearly.

  • Well all I can say is that I saw a

Giant Squid's body on display in some kind of a tank some years ago at The Museum Of Natural History in New York some years ago that must have been used to preserve it's body or something this was back in 2000 maybe?

I just know that I never saw it there again maybe they removed it to another museum or it's body rotted or it could be in storage for all I know.

  • it's real!

many scientists have found dead giant squids washed up on beaches, and many have been preserved and then displayed for the public to see!

  • needle*

  • holy that deedly so ffuxing long

  • Go kill yourself.........

  • ...

  • SICK!

  • ha!!!! you cauht a gaint squid wow!!!!! and it breath fire. well your just making that stuff up. none will belive u......

  • OMG I WAS THERE PEOPLE, HE ISN'T LYING

  • lol nice~

  • it looks dead

  • thats because it IS dead

  • What? I'm sorry, I can't understand your caveman-speak. Try practicing better grammar or something, because I don't get what you're trying to say one bit.

I know they're going to display it. Duh. What's your point?

  • they display dead animals all the time -_-;;

what's wrong with a giant squid?

  • thats not a giant squid.. thats my shit after a night of drinking....

  • never mind the squid, what about the person with the pink hair!

  • how much calamari would that be on my platter? :) dont forget the dip mate!

  • i would rather face a shark then a giant squid...they can get huge!

  • I'm wondering how does it smell hahahaa

  • thats crazy how big those squids can get!!!!

  • thats 1 big squid

  • sick 2 fishee 4 me

  • Sick D:

  • nvm its not a octupus bbut DAMN THAT NEEDLE IS LIKE 10 ft LONG

  • thats gross lol and its an octupus?

  • squid are rare which is why they have killed and stuffed it! NEWSFLASH! squid have just got rarer

  • right, because when they find them washed up on shore that is totally humanities fault. We also shouldnt take advantage of that and learn from the ones that are already dead. cause that wont help them.

  • Nice video and nice squid.Love this creatures don't kill them because they are rare.I have seen a lot of videos related to Water Animals on SPLASHVISION. COM, I would suggest you guys to have a look over there and know more about Water Animals, Don't forget to Reply...

  • did u see that broad with the pinkish redish hair? ha ha ha ha ha.

  • lol

  • What I dont get is people( this is the rarest thing ever a giant squid...its a legend blablabla) i know its so rare lets butcher it and make it on display so it will get rarer...scientist=idiots

  • very

  • I seriously hope you're kidding. If you're not, then I'd suggest you actually know what you're talking about next time before you post. Giant squid aren't "rare". Their beaks are found in large whales all the time. They live very deep in the water though, hence why live footage is so rare. This squid wasn't "butchered," and they're not rare or endangered or whatnot. Get your facts right before you start railing against a non-issue.

  • You're talking. Giant squida ARE rare, but recently they have been invading coasts around china and so forth. Before then, it would have been rare to see one. It's like finding a shoebill ((if you know what that is)).

  • it's actually the humboldt squid that are comming up to shallower waters, like around china and mexico check out some of the video's they are pretty nasty things, some as big as 6 ft.

  • But the squid here is not a humboldt, which is much smaller than the Giant Squid, or Arciteuthis. Don't know if I spelled that right..

  • Giant squid are not rare. Human contact with them is.

  • Oh, you were talking abot that guy's pinky finger.

  • hahahahaha. that was a good one.

  • its massive!

  • big time sushi !! xD

  • very interesting...

  • thats not a giant squid at all -_-

  • then wot is it then? u make bold comments but don't give a reason. lol

  • thats prolly not a giant squid probably a humble squid

  • im sure pretty these ppl did their research. or why do u think they are going to put it into a musuem?

  • Are you kidding me? Have you ever seen a Humboldt? It clearly says Architeuthis in the video, and it clearly is one.

  • that squid is not giant, it looks small to me.

  • small? normal squid are as big as your hand or maybe arm. that thing needed 12 ppl to carry it. and you call it small?

  • probably because the youtube video screen is about 4cm X 4cm! lol

  • wow look at the big ass needle at 2:30

i hope they dont use this on people :P

  • oH, IM NOt hungry now.

  • lol when they try to move the squid on wildboyz they drop it and it splits open

  • SUSHI TIME!!!! God such a waste of squid lol. You dont need to study them just eat the damn thing.

  • lol people dont get the leetness of this comment

  • There is footage of giant squid, such as the japanese video, there is however no video of the colossal squid which has only been found post mortem at the surface.

  • hey thats in san francisco!

  • erm, I think your a few 1000 miles out, thats the natural history museum in London. That chap said it was shipped from the Falklands to the UK. Good video, think I'll be subscribing

  • Nice pink hair.

  • its annoying that science keeps killing animals. Wouldnt it be better if we could just leave it alone in its natural environment and see it swimming. Theres really no reaon why we need to study it. A squid's anatomy and geno-structure has absolutely nothing to do with a human's.

  • you wouldnt be able to see it swimming anyways. Unless of course, you want to go down a mile. ass.

  • Every Animal has to be studied, they are very rarely caught its not a big loss

  • You are so ignorant. So we should stop studying everything that has nothing to do with human anatomy? Yeah.. then we'll REALLY go far.

    idiot.

  • Sure, then we'd no absolutely nothing about the vast majority of life on this planet.

  • better to kill it. That looks big enough to consume you. so stfu!

  • BOOSH!!!

  • Actually it does, a huge number of experiments that have given us major breakthroughs regarding the nervous system have been done on squid nerves. Don't be naive.

  • Woh woh woh....

    Please...

Become a scientist, then you can decide if you really want to say that.

  • Actually, I can sort of see what you're saying, but I think human's quest for knowledge is just a sort of an evolutionary adaptation... and hopefully for the better. I mean, don't be against it. It's something that the humanity has to go through in order to survive.

  • footage of giant squid swimming doesn't exist. the depths it lives in are too demanding for any equipment to handle

  • Yes it does. If you search "Giant Squid" you can see one alive in the wild that was recently caught by the Japanese.

  • I've seen it...broadcased in Japanese.

  • yeah, but it is being drug up by a hook. You arent really seeing it alive in the wild as much as you are watching some japanese dudes drag up lunch.

  • There is footage of Architeuthis filmed deep underwater. It was not on a hook.

  • i want to see the footage of the giant squid swimming. Why is it so hard to find?

  • No it's calledthe giant squid

  • its not called the "Humongous Squid" you idiot. Its called the Collosul Squid!

  • How much black bean sauce could that baby take?

  • i was expecting something bigger lol

  • that will be great 4 a aussie BBQ, blooding beauty m8

  • theirs a even bigger squid but only video footage has been seen its called the Humongous Squid and its estimated to grow over 100 feet long

  • do have the link to the big squid?

  • It was filmed during an expedition recorded for the show "Monster Quest". They weren't sure of the species of squid, though if it was either of the two debated it was still effing huge.

  • LOL

  • gotta love that pink haired girl... or guy? whatever it was, looked very unprofessional and out of place in a room full of scientist.

  • Just cause they dye their hair doesn't mean they're unprofessional. I dye my hair fun colors, and I'm not unprofessional! I'm also not a scientist but if I was, I'd still dye my hair!

  • She is studying a specimen, wearing a lab coat, must have worked pretty hard to get where she is studying such a rare creature...how does something petty like the color she dyes her hair make her any less professinal? Marine biology isn't about the color of your hair.

  • looks like a big ole lump of goo.

  • that was VERY cruel!!!

  • imagine seeing that thing in the water (alive)

  • They videotaped it. But I can't find the video on here. Its gotta be here somewhere.

  • wow id love to work on that

  • actually, theres even bigger one...but of coz its not caught..if feeds on whales. i see it in National Geographic

  • Wow! calamares!

  • that's massive!!

  • cool

  • Architeuthis dux
