When I was a kid, this was the first stp song I heard in the unplugged version. So I bought the cd, and realized, wow, stp is a hard rock band?! My father heard the cd and melted it in the wood furnace since he wasn't keen on letting us listen to hard rock. But I made sure to buy it once I was older. Some of the best jams on the Core cd I've ever heard. Probably still my favorite band to this day.
I understand it's acoustic, but I would have liked this more if it was a little closer to the original tempo. It seems to be a little too draggy and holds the song back a bit in my opinion.
I love STP unplugged. Saw them live at Memphis in May. Scott is awsome on stage. A great performer. He can dance better than any lead singer I've ever seen.
pretty photo! I frequently can't get sound on my web computer, but I bought the CD "Thank You" here in Jupiter, Florida. The recording of PLUSH (ACOUSTIC VERSION) is very beautiful, the music --both vocals and guitar-- clear and pretty. Great music! Linda :)
It's a shame Scott Weiland keeps messing up his life with drugs...but 50 years of rock n' roll seem to have taught us that the greatest artists are the tragic figures (Layne Staley, Keith Moon, Bon Scott, Jimi Hendrix...) The whole thing's a deal with the Devil...but it's one hell of a sweet deal while it lasts.
@SimuLord ..And when they're stoned out of their mind they play the best music! Sad as it my seem, when they get sober usually their careers end if they havent killed themselves already!
@lisasboogies ..Yeah they said its about a girl that was found dead in the Hollywood hills, apparently by a serial killer! Its Morbid as hell but he turned it into one of the best Rock songs of all-time!
I remember watching just Eddie and Stone doing this, must've been 93-95, on MTV. I'd love to see that again, breathtaking! Think it was an interview type show, maybe Tabetha Soren was the host?
vh1 storytellers stone temple pilots...check it out...it is about a girl who was kidnapped at the time and was found dead...Scott tells the tale...it's on youtube...
This is great, but not as much raw power as the album ver. The whole unplugged concept gives the music a general layer of pretentiousness. or perhaps just transforms it into a genre i appreciate less, something like that.
90s music transfers very well to unplugged. I think it has to do with how visceral it is. The simplicity of voice and guitar is beautiful and there is so much texture it seems like you could reach out and pick it up like an old pair of well used blue jeans.
Yeah, I like it too; however, I haven't been able to find the standard version so far. For some odd reason nobody has posted it. They just post alternate versions like this.
If anyone can find the standard version of this song, please tell me where it is.
If you mean the actual video too, its becuase Viacom keep removing them.
Ive been through 3 accounts before i got sick of them banning me so i put the audio only up. Sorry...If you want the video just download it off a torrent site.
@fckrocknroll It's because Viacom is filled with bags of dicks.
Seriously, STP's Unplugged show isn't available on DVD, BDU, CD, VHS, or even Audio Cassette. It never was. It was aired on MTV and turned into a few music videos on MTV for awhile, then it disappeared.
Viacom needs to make it available, license it under fair use, or shut the **** up.
i finally gave in and posted a comment after 5 years of anon viewing because it annoys me that there is a much better version of plush that i cannot find on youtube over everyone else's video of themselves slowly fingerpicking this song in their own cover when i only really want to hear STP play STP.
@MCSuire If by standard you mean the original electric version, it's around and you just need to search for it... If you are looking for the original unplugged that has the video... Good luck with that (I saw one, but not gonna favorite it because they keep getting removed and I keep having to search for it over and over and over, so screw it, just going with the audio)
To me it doesn't show like the unplugged verison,it sounds more like the time they were on SNL with Nicole kidman as the host,oh well sounds so damn great! I like the STPS too!
yea the plugged version of this song is better because it really needs a powerful- full rock sound. Thats it appeal, but good point for an acoustic guitar
raphaelrod is right, it proved they just how good they were, I miss the 90's, by far the best decade for music ever, the noughties have been pretty wank, dance had died, rap has gone pretty soft and the bands ain't what they used to be
i think 2 be honest the unpluggeds of all big name guys from the 90's just proved how good they were and how great that time in music was.... 90's rocked fuck the wrestler
nirvana's unplugged album was killer. i love the studio versions of grunge songs, but acoustic versions also seem to just work. its at least nice to have 20 or so acoustic songs from them of your fav songs or even covers.
No point of comparison: they were all unique - you either love one most or you don't, that's all. I couldn't imagine having been a teenager without any of them (and Nirvana); but STP are the one's I listen to the most as an adult, and the Afghan Whigs.
