@GothicGwen153 they're singing japanese and sometimes english phrases. also they have (i think) 2 songs in which they sing a few words german; but they're from japan^^
Thorns coiled around the sun Regret melts with the mixture of a sigh I spit and laugh at the dreams I've seen enough of The hearts of men eaten by loneliness grows cruelly It melts into the layers of white Undesired The shattered truth means the opposite Love to the smile The gloomy morning has already died It's going far away, unable to reach I want to fall asleep in the innocent gentleness with the tears...
what are you talking about?? :S this song is so far from dark and depressive as they could get... this is beautiful :O even though I don't know the lyrics, and what they mean, I really find this song one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard
The lyrics are actually pretty sad. If you could understand, it'd be even more beautiful. I don't feel like translating, so ask a friend that can or something.
*cringe* this song is so full of pain. Hearing it live is truly...there are no words *shakes head* This is truly an amazing band. Dir en grey Fighting!
I know. And they get better every time, too. I've seen them three times, but the most recent was the best. Kyo was INCREDIBLE. At one point he did this acapella thing with the lights low and one light shinning up from below his crate. He basically crouched on the crate and dragged the mike across it. I got two amazing pics in that moment. mm. He just has amazing stage presence lol
Yea totally. That sounds like so much awesomeness!! I've seen em once but been a fan for like...five years now? They went to Dallas for their "The Rose Trims Again" tour; that's when I saw them. Kyo is so tight on stage when he acts like a snake, you know like moving his body slowly like one?
i so sad...beautiful sad is my favorite kind...i hate uglysad. Kyo can make me feel almost every emotion, and so vividly, it'a absolutely amazing. yes, i capitalize Kyo on purpose, because he's more important than anything else.
I thought Dir En Grey was surposed to be like...heavy metal-ish?
I heard that marrow of the bone is suposed to be their heavist album...but I haven't heard anything I like so far...I only like 2 songs from Dir En Grey, I'm dissapointed, I really thought I'd like them. Oh well I still have Maximun The Hormone!!
Oh Obscure is the best song i've heard so far by Dir En Grey, I just wished they lived up to the hype of what other people told me about them...for me anyway.
"thought Dir En Grey was surposed to be like...heavy metal-ish?" Diru tendt to switch from genre to genre. Personally i think its great since sometimes when you're trying to relax heavy music isn't the best :)
Sasuke shut up dude not everything can heavy to be good you should know that by now unless your a 12 year old headbanger who has to rely on his parents to take him to concerts because he can't drive
I haven't liked as much of their new stuff and got a little depressed about it (because I was so attached to them) but this is really good. It's all wonderful, the vocals, the composition. It's not just a nice song but it's...unusual, too. I liked thing like Kodou but they felt a little affected to me. I really love this song.
I love this song. I like the way Diru changes. They have their own style and thankfully in each album there's something new, original. Oy, you Polish fans out there! 12.08.2007 Dir en Grey will give concert in Poland!
Shinya may have written the piano stuff, but Kyo plays piano, so he most likely played. Kyo wrote the song, as he usually does. Its a very beautiful piece, teh best on the cd if I do say so myself
lol, its called The Marrow of a Bone, and is for sale for a while now... (at least in japan, I dunno anywhere else) I bought it here, its very, very, VERY good!! I love each and every song, its an amazing album! You`d better buy it beeyatch! XD lol sorry

Kyo's voice is so full of emotions that you cant avoid to feel it and get affected by it. Loved this new song. but it got me also kinda sad, dont know why. what is it about?
I feel that songs w/ nothing but screaming are never as good as those that used it less. W/ Saku, the song was redeeming w/ the sung choruses & the screaming fit the emotion. Kyo's screaming in songs is fine & totally up to him on how he wants to do the song, but songs w/ nothing but screaming for me lose their emotion than when it's in smaller doses & more effective, such as in "24 Ko". It adds to the emotion rather than diminishes it when it's nothing but screaming, IMHO. XD I'm weird.
Thanks for the information on the song. ^_^ About how many songs are like this one on the album, and how many are like "Grief" and "Maggots"? I don't mind heavy Diru (in fact I love them when they let loose), but I just hope there's some diversity, and not just Kyo screaming his vocal chords out with reckless abandon on nearly every song. (Which is my fear.)
theres 3 totally calm songs on the album and i would say 4 songs which are combinations of singing and screaming. And yes I remember that time when kyo was hospitalized during tour 06 with inflamed vocal chords he was lucky that time....
I have a random question to anyone who has heard the entirety of the album. (My CD got delayed...ah well. I can just listen to this song until it arrives and I'll probably learn the whole thing!) Anyway, my question was: Is the song "Namamekashiki Ansoku, Tamerai ni Hohoemi" any good? Somehow, I've always believed that after "Higeki..." that songs in their native language and really long must be good. Anyone know?
yeah its a really good song, played on the acoustic guitar. Much like this song it is calm but very energetic lyrics no screaming though and can be compared to "undecided" or "mushi" you will love the song.
This is the old dir en grey, but with more experiance! i adore this song! i was so afraid that the whole new cd was going to be all english and this calmed those fears....kirei...totemo kirei
"Mazohyst of Decadence" & "The Final": intro & outro had Middle Eastern subtleties;
"audience killer loop" & "Gyakujoutannou Keloidmilk" slight traditional Asian intros;
MACABRE: Russian tracklisting, chanting on "Diety";
GAUZE: German tracklisting, in "Schwein No Isu";
ETC.
For all of this fuss about DeG becoming Americanized, this is a band who always had the artistic integretity to create their unique sound from a myriad of cultures, not just American.
this is the perfect track to open the album to, this album is the best i've seen so far, and i have every single thing they've ever released, EPs DVDs singles the lot!
Why do people really care if they're "Westernized" or not? I don't think their music has changed for the worse -- "Marrow of a Bone" is one of the band's greatest artistic achievements, IMHO. I think people are just a bit insecure about Dir En Grey not being "exclusive" to just Japan anymore and it's just pathetic to let something like that ruin your love for the band. It's just a childish mindset to have.
People need to realize that before anything, they are a group of musicians and so have the right to change whatever style they wish in order to explore the depths of their talents. This involves reaching out to a wider audience, which is precisely what Dir En Grey is doing. There's nothing wrong with that. People need to stop thinking that the band is playing solely for "them." The band doesn't have to meet the expectations of what anybody wants -- THAT would be selling out.
yeah, thats true. dir en grey has said that they dont play to reach a wider audience, but they play to develop and to learn things about themselves. of course they love their fans, but they dont make music that are "americanized" to reach a wider audience. i respect dir en grey with all my heart, and the marrow of a bone was excellent as expected.
Alot of people think that Dir en grey is "Americanized" because they went to America and their music is changing but I love how they change their music because if they didn't then all their music would sound the same like alot of American bands.. so honestly they are not "Americanized" they just have some Western influences.
I have to agree to that although most of the songs on this album sound very western. I am glad they say that this is just a transitory period for diru, they haven't reached a point where they stop changing yet.

Lying about being pregnant is so carefree
The drowning tears in the pool made by a razor, taste vaguely sweet
The gloomy tomorrow has already died
I hated myself for not being able to forgive the tears, the lies and the love
But I can't go back
It's going far away, unable to reach
I want to fall asleep in the innocent gentleness with the tears
It just echoes beyond the red sky in the background
The cries can not be... heard anymore
