I've used numerous tutorials from you and love them all. I have one question on your fonts tutorials. You show how you build a floor to set the text on for shadow and so forth.
How would I render it so that I do not see that floor, making it a standalone text to comp in to another scene?
@kirkeric Hm, it depends. If you have a background picture in the scene, you can make the floor plane blend into the texture. This comment is 8 months ago, so I'm pretty sure you figured out how to do it. (: Know any good tutorials on how to make a ball of fire without plugins using hypervoxels?
Very nice tutorial. I bought LightWave two years ago, and it's still a mystery to me. I'm just an old video shooter looking to expand my horizons. Do you freelance as I would like to offer some of these effects to my video clients?

I wonder what version of Lightwave he's using here because I haven't got a Dome Light and a few others I saw there. I only have 5 Lights:
Distant
Point
Spot
Linear
Area
I can get the soft shadows with Area Light but they look way too grainy.
I have version 9.3.1.
