I get that Moshe feels video games are a waste of time, but I must disagree because as a video game enthusiast, I feel they have value. Not only can they pick up your mood from everyday hard life, you can learn something from whatever information the creators put in there, and develop strategic thinking to apply to life. And many must find value in games because the industry was worth $65 billion in 2011.

We used BrillKids Little Reader. It's about the same price as Your Baby Can Read but you get a lot more bang for your buck b/c it’s customizable. Use BKAFF40902 to save a little more $. Video games have helped me so much! It taught me the feeling of working as hard as you possibly could to achieve your goal. It taught me how to assess my mistakes, and learn from them, even better than I would have ever done without video games. Whenver I lose a LoL or SC2 game, I always ask, why did I lose?
Maybe video games aren't helping humanity further advance in medicine or science, but it has certainly taught me some valuable life skills.

Unfortunately, most of the child geniuses do the worst out of any person, however this particular kid seems to have practical views. Many child geniuses base all their success off their early years, and track the days, months and years, but then you notice they all but disappear when they hit the important years, and whoops they didn't do anything.

HOW COULD YOU HATE VIDEO GAMES!
Video games have helped me so much! It taught me the feeling of working as hard as you possibly could to achieve your goal. It taught me how to assess my mistakes, and learn from them, even better than I would have ever done without video games. Whenver I lose a LoL or SC2 game, I always ask, why did I lose?
Maybe video games aren't helping humanity further advance in medicine or science, but it has certainly taught me some valuable life skills.

this is the kind of kid that i want to hear on xbox lol, besides every kid in the world that gets an xbox and a mic that comes with it ruining xbox live with annoying complaining and crying O.o. Lol this kid would tell another kid why he is crying and what causes it scientifically and then tell them to shut up :)

Unfortunately, most of the child geniuses do the worst out of any person, however this particular kid seems to have practical views. Many child geniuses base all their success off their early years, and track the days, months and years, but then you notice they all but disappear when they hit the important years, and whoops they didn't do anything.

It's just a little sad that he has to miss out on so much of his childhood and not have a chance to enjoy his teen years. Also, the helping the world bit seems a little unobtainable seeing as currently he is only earning trophies and knowledge for himself. But I suppose that could be used later on.

@FLASH2394 tons of kids have no social life. also, tons of kids' parents pressure them to do well. however, that doesn't create a child of higher intellectual and creative pursuits. this kid has obviously nurtured his talents, but it seems like all his genius is his own. your parents cannot "make" you this smart.

Well rounded person, great personality, very intelligent, there's not much I can say bad about him. Just one thing though, his comment about video games, although I always agree to disagree with people about stuff like that, and I am well aware that many will consider it a 'waste' of time. It is not that bit that bothered me, but rather, his explanation of it, as 'not helping' humanity. This is to infer the sole being of an individuals life is to progress humanity, an idea I cannot subscribe to.

@fundamentalismmyass but he doesnt only do school, hes taking a year off to do marshal arts, thats a great extracurricular activity and thats where he probably hangs out with his peers...he does great in school and has a great hobby..i dont think hes losing out on anything, hes on a really good path. theres nothing to criticize in my opinion. i dont get why the kid cant express his opinion on it with out ppl like @nepalihercules criticizing...calm the hell down..jeez.
