  • secret lol ... simply provide a descent sized aquarium and provide good filtration. I would suggest moderate to large weekly water changes. You should be fine. Oscars are the hardiest fish I've kept (2nd to flowerhorn) If yours are dieing, I would suggest finding a new hobby.

  • could some 1 tell me if my tank is a 90 gallons the guy i bought it from says it is but i dont believe him . its 48"long x 18" wide x 24" tall

  • did you know you had 3 minutes of nothing in the end

  • @fitbikerider459 yea, I am not very knowledgeable with youtube videos. Thanks for pointing it o

    ut lol

  • hey whts the secret of keeping oscars alive i have tried several times and bought oscar but they always die with the first week

  • @jacksonjones402 there isnt any secret u just need to know what your doing. gotta feed them right clean the tank right and so on. i dont check my water ph and so on cause my fish live good in it so it must be good... ive even kept neon tetras and none acted sick and none have after around 4 months now so i geuss its your water.

  • @jacksonjones402

You have to cycle your tank before you add fish to it. Look up "fishless cycling" and do that. It takes a couple of weeks.

  • whenever i put Cucumber or Zuchini in the tank my platys and guppies go ape shit and start eating it when it was meant for my pleco -.- he gets bullied by the smaller fish and i havnt caught him eating in ageeess. he hides behind the uv filter!! thats all he does!!!!

  • um i have a baby pleco with a baby oscar both about 3in, can u help me will they fight because i have them in a 5 gallon tank right now i know i have em in my 5 gallon because my large plecos need alot space plz help!

  • and the filter? Nice tank! and O's are nice one of my fav! 5*

  • hey were did u buy ur sand at

  • THANKS ! ... they are really large now, and for advice to others, I would NOT house two oscars in anything smaller than a 90 gallon. My two O's are getting territorial and they piss each other off with the lack of swimming space.

  • Really nice setup mate. Oscars look very happy.

  • beautiful tank man 5 stars ... does anyone know if you can put a senegal bichir in with 2 oscars in a 90 gallon?

  • thank you ! ... I would not recommend a bicher with the O's unless you raise them all together. I had a peacock eel and my two O's destroyed him. (they are both almost 10" 's now) Good Luck !

  • nice fish they look happy

  • 2:07 RAWR!

  • wheres the plec

  • please watch 3:35 ... you will find the pleco there

  • that was about 4 months ago, ... they are around 9" now. ... i would say 1" per month, after around 6", they slow down a LOT !

  • i just started feeding them meal worms i also feed them fish flakes,Hikari gold cichlid pellets and feeder fish as you can see in one of my videos.o and your right man they are garbage disposals they even bit me before.how long did it take for your oscars to get that big?

  • what do u feed ur oscars im afraid mine wont grow if i just feed it tropiccal fish flakes?

    please respond

  • Hikari pellets, blood worms, brine shrimp, crickets, worms, flakes, sometimes the occasional feeder goldfish- ... anything is good man, they are garbage disposals LOL

  • when the O's were babies, I would feed them every time I walked by the tank. Now I feed them before I leave for work in the morning, and when I get home, or before I go to bed- thanks again and GL !

  • got one more question. how many times a day do you feed the fish?

  • what do you feed the clown loaches and oscars. Is it the same thing?

  • Nice! Simple and beautiful.

  • thank you, I try keeping it simple, so the O's have room to swim ! THANKS for your comment !

  • I love your tank! Your fish are beautiful..very nice and clean lookin tank...GREAT JOB!! I have 2 tigers myself and Im gettin a albino soon..

  • thanks man ! I plan on making a new video. These two oscars have nearly doubled in size.

  • very nice ... hope you have enough room, these two guys are moving out of the 90 very soon-

  • hey do u hav an aerator?

  • I have one strand of bubbles on the bottom left, and the FX5 oxygenates good enough by itself.

  • wow looking awesome m8 :)

Im loving the white sand and the fact that youre keeping them with other fish... if you get them socialised young, you will be able to keep them with all sorts of stuff.

  • Back at you m8.

    Beautiful fish, beautiful tank!

  • do your clown loaches and oscar get along....bc i just got a 55g and i was plan on getin 1 oscar 3 clown loach

  • hey isjustmecody ... Yes my clown loaches and oscars get along perfectly. When I first put them in there, the oscars were overly protective and chased them around for a bit. After a couple of hours, they calmed down. I think 1 oscar with 3 loaches would be perfect for a 55 gallon. - Best of luck and get some vids rolling when you get them in there !

  • thankx and i will get some vids

  • hey how do you clean your sand in your tank?

i love the tank! its amazing.....

  • hey thanks for the comment! I use a siphon hose that connects to the kitchen sink. most of the time I just skim over the sand with the end of the suction (around 1/2" from actually touching the sand). Sand is amazing and most fish would prefer it over gravel. The only negative with sand, ... any waste from the fish usually finds a resting spot on top of the sand, which can be an eye sore. Gravel allows for feces and other waste to slip between the cracks.

  • try picking some up at your local pool and spa store. I'm using Silica pool pump filter sand. ... around 5 or 6 dollars for 50 pound bag.

  • i ment what do you do to clean the sand?

  • ... I siphon with a thick hose. Once a month or so, I swish it all around (filtration off) and allow it to resettle to prevent dead spots.

  • how big do clown loaches get and will they eat feeders

  • I've heard of them getting over a foot in length, but it takes MANY MANY years... as for them eating feeders... do you mean bottom feeders or feeder fish?

  • feeder fish and is 2 of them in a tank alright?

  • they are best kept in groups of 5 or more... What i've read. You can try two if you would like- sure it will be just fine

  • thats a great tank!

  • Thanks, I strive to please my Oscars !

  • great job on the tank

  • thank you !

  • do you use feeders?? i think i made the mistake of giving mine to much, and im afraid to put in clown loaches in with him. mine is about the size of yours, what do you think about clown loaches with him??

    nice tank and fish

  • To be honest, I've only fed my Oscars feeders twice in their lifetime. when I first put the clown loaches in the tank, they were frantic and dipped head first into the sand... stayed that way for hours. The albino oscar tries to bully them around, but he can't catch them.

  • Their rear tails are larger than they should be, and allows them to have very fast short bursts of speed. If you decide to get some, try to keep them in shoals of 5 or more. I only put 3 in this tank, because 90 gallons is too small. (read up on how large clown loaches get before you toss them in your aquarium.) You should be fine with adding them

  • Ok. I have a 75 gal. so I probably shouldn't get to many. And yes, I've seen some pretty big clown loaches.

    Thanx

  • Ok, thanx for the info.

  • I love your tank, your fishes and the video!!

  • thanks man ! ... They are a lot of fun.

  • omfg that tank and fishes are so beautiful!!but dident you have 2 black oscars in the other vid?

  • DIFFERENT TANKS IM GUESSING! ether way this guy is a beast and i love seeing people that know what there doing and how amazing there tanks are.... GOOD JOB DUDE!

  • haha ... nice, and thanks bro !

  • thanks buddy, One of my little ones decided he wanted to jump out of the tank around 5am, ... he didn't make it, I replaced him with the albino you see in the video. - thanks for the good feedback !

  • Great tank! Good to see somebody post a video of some healthy oscars in a proper sized tank, good job.

  • Thanks closer2mod ! I strive to keep them growing stronger and healthier everyday. I plan on moving them to a 125 gallon for their final home (should be within a year).

  • Sounds like a plan to me!:) Im just sick of seeing all the videos of oscars in tanks under 30G. They really do look great so your achieving your goal IMO.

  • like it man, looking good ive just started again with a baby albino and baby tiger check em out, nice video.
