  • Werner, Steiner?

  • Either are possible. I've found this search to be a futile one considering all of the possible pipe makers. I do thank you for your contribution!!

  • very cool upload, D - nice work on the pipes, too. have you checked with the online Oom Paul Society for help with your query? oompaul(dot)com one never knows, eh? ; ) tamp 'er light, MM

  • I haven't tried that source. Thanks for the input and thanks for watching!

  • I agree with Kelly - it 'looks' like a CustomBilt but my guess is it's not. There were a number of pipes that gave a try at that distinctive rustication and style. They were often denoted 'Imported Briar' and nothing else. Nice refurb job(s)!

    -Tom

  • It sure looks like a "custom built" brand to me, but I am certainly no pipe expert, and no virtually nothing about old brands of pipes. Cheers, Kel

  • There seems to be so many maker possibilities that I might as well consider it a custom built for simplicity's sake.

    Thanks for watching!

  • Hm I think i'll just hold off on buying a pipe with one of those. Thanks for the info mate.

  • No prob.

  • Nice job on those refurbishing. Gotta try my hand at that but I worry that I don't have the patience to do so.

On another note you have kaywoodie pipes right? I was wondering if any of them have metal stingers(you know the little metal filter thingys). If any of yours have them how do they smoke?

  • Ah yes, the dreaded stinger. Well, I dislike them for several reasons but the main one is that you can't insert a pipe cleaner all the way down. 2 or 3 of my estates had stingers and I removed them. Plus it's more difficult to restore a pipe with one of those things on.

    Thanks for watching!

  • It's like a pipe crossword puzzle! I can't offer any suggestions, as I don't know too many carvers, but I can say I like that pipe. Well, both those pipes (the Dr. Plum and the mystery Oom Paul).

  • lol. It does feel as if I've made it into a crossword game. Or perhaps pipe scrabble...

    Thanks for watching!

  • Reiner Klein.

  • Yet another possibility.

Thanks again for all the help.

  • nice work buddy,,i wont be able to restore them tht nice thts for sure,,if u asked me according to the rustication i would say custom bilt pipe especially tht they do hv many lines in which names r differently given,,u might wanna ask Tom NWpipesmoker he is an expert concerning tht line,,however by the look of this pipe i dnt think any tobacco but strong english will fit the attire,,dr.plumb hv sm really good quality pipes and it a loss to stop their line production if they did

    cheers

    ahmad

  • Thanks for the kind words and advice. The Dr. Plumb pipe is a great smoker indeed. And so is the Oom Paul!

    Thanks for watching and commenting.

  • Joe Mariner

    Heiner Nonnenbroich

    Michael Lindner

    Reiner Thilo Pipes

  • wow. You know your pipe makers! Thanks for all the input. There are so many that end with "ner" that I don't know if I'll ever find out. : (

  • Rainer Barbi?

  • Weiner? German pipe maker

  • That seems like it would fit. The only thing is, there might be more space above the carving "Oom Paul" to fit a larger name though. But I suppose if they spaced it just right, it could work.

  • wow... the stem looks brand new.

  • Thank you! It definitely took some effort.

  • Bonnie Brier?

  • Close...it must end with "ner". Thanks for the try and thanks for watching!
