Only reason why they included kid as ranger is to popularize series among younger generations (a.k.a. look Justin is ranger so I can also be...) Honestly I never liked idea of introducing him as ranger (it made show even more childish then before). Although he is good actor, but simply put 'ranger business ain't for kids' :) Billy will always be true blue ranger :D

@titanb5 The whole reason they got "blake" on the show was to make the show geared towards a new generation. Most of the people who watched MMPR and Zeo were not into it any more so they got a kid on the show for a younger "new" generation. As for him getting tall the show originates in Japan, so the actor who played the blue ranger in japan was that tall, so they had to make him grow. The fight senes you see are mostly voice overs.

He never clicked with me. It felt like they tried to push him in two contrasting directions, making him out to be a genius so he gets bumped up to high school with the rest, but then pulled the kid card FAR too heavily. Just because he is doesn't mean he has to act like it all the time.

I'm sure if he was handled better, they'd be less dislike. I don't hate him or anything but, the contrast between himself just put me off from really appreciating him.

Since I was five, and even at a young age I had a great imagination and acting ability. This character seemed so hollow and an empty promise. It was as if we all had to bow down and accept him like he was destined to be a ranger. There were plenty of good candidates in the show they could have used.
