  • the funny thing about this video is that John Lennon was a sympathiser

  • why young people cannot have fun and music in their young years? THAT is the time to do so. Fucking communists. They are massmurderers, vultures and criminals should be hanged while we play Beatles music! KEEP ON ROCKING IN THE FREE WORLD! Death to communism!

  • worst piece of idiocy from Khruschev era.

My ass, how did we hate the bullshit.

Most funny thing for me is the reaction of American users.

    Maybe, we should change countries?

  • Now I understand why they fell....

  • Soviets should rule the USA!

  • Yet no matter how their masters would try to spin it, the Russkiya publica would have killed for Amerikanski Blue Jeans! lol

  • @higgme1ster in the language of Saint Cyril, Русьская публика is Russian public, pronounced like Rooskaya pooblica..

  • Бля, что за дрочь!)

  • Hilarious! The narrator sounds like a typical American fuddy duddy in '64, especially the weird

    obsession with hair length!

  • Fake

  • This is a pretty good analogy to what's going on today... The world is going to hell in a hand basket, yet the fools concern themselves with who won the night before on Dancing with the "Stars..."

  • I'm from America. we have a very biased and narrow view of a lot of other countries, but isn't this complete hypocrisy coming from a regime that would alter the stories and ban freedom expression? How could anyone focus on the problem when you wont even let us know what the problems are?

  • Well this "propaganda" appears to be the truth. It only took a little longer to recognise it.

  • USSR rightfully pointed out to the West pop-culture distraction only to distract "homo soveticus" from their own fatal problems.

Proof? Capitalism is still alive, and USSR is R.I.P. without a war after 70 years of debilitating agony.

Is in history another empire that big and that short lived?

  • @currishev

"Proof? Capitalism is still alive, and USSR is R.I.P. without a war after 70 years of debilitating agony."

How the fuck is russia RIP if it still declares war on countries (georgia), still has tons of atomic bombs, still has the 11. highest GDP, still has the 2. strongest military, still has a veto power in the UN, still has huge amounts of resources etc... etc...

"Is in history another empire that big and that short lived?"

    Nazi-germany?

  • @RedUnity

USSR is not Russia, deference industry is cancer of economy, "without a war" is key word here compare to Nazi Germany, strongest military (?) by what criteria (to get a political goal with the losses few times bigger than enemy, eg. Finn war), natural resources &no brain to use it - 7 from 10 world eco-disasters happen in Russia, veto power in UN is only because "nuke club" membership.. (if naughty kid has irremovable dangerous toy, one'd better watch her by fake, overblown respect)

  • @currishev "no brain to use it" lol what do you mean with "use" it? eat it? sell it? they already do. europe is totally depending on them. you can't really expect russia to be as capitalistic as the rest of the world. they had 80 years communistm, after all. they must make all the experience the other countries made in the last 200 years. veto power is because they "only" destroyed 90% of germanys army. both ww2 and finwar were in the STALIN-era, no wonder the losses were high.

  • @RedUnity

Statistics &cliches about the Russian don't support that average Russian is paragon of well-rounded education (political included) &ability to use it, personal efficacy, emotional, mental & physical health, etc.. &new generation has nothing to do with Stalin's selection of villains &slaves.

Contribution to world culture (the posting is about) & selling gas to EU aren't correlated.

Whatever makes u happy, I'm not iconoclast. Don't bother with reply

  • @currishev So what exactly is americas contribution to culture? Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga? You know NOTHING about russia, because you're not educated. Every well-read man knows Leo Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky and Pushkin etc... It's the nation of ballet and chess. Russian culture is rich. Every classic fan knows Tchaikovsky and the nutcracker. The Soviet Union was the nation of sports. The soviet team dominated the Olympic games like no other.

Your just beeing an ignorant and arrogant fuck.

  • @RedUnity

Russia of 19th century and USSR of 20th are two different, disparate entities.

And dominance in Olympic games has nothing to do with culture.

Clean up your brain from "dangling pointers" (in terms of C programming).

I'm the fuck but not "ignorant & arrogant" - I know Russia as native educated

dweller of his first ~40 years (lucky u avoided such a waste).

After studying the West for 15 years I can compare.

  • @currishev At least since ancient greece, sports IS culture. Everyone who doubt that, is just silly. No wonder you left your country with such an traitorous attitude toward your fatherland.

To say the USSR failed as a political construct is one thing, to insult ones culture is another. You didn't anwsered my question: Whats americas/canadas contribution to world culture besides superficial and irrelevant pop culture, financial crises and illegal offensive wars?

  • @RedUnity

Should I go to your profile to digress to your personality? I'm better than that.

Of cause I see your emotional problems &just to finish about USA/Canada &EU contribution I note:

go thru Nobel price winners for the past century (half world scientists were soviets & few % are granted), look up patents, new techs, Gizmag newsletters, any philosopher, world leader?.. nothing but cheap weaponry and eco-disasters.

Do research, and bye till then (with your brain - forever)

  • @currishev I'm the one with emotional problems - says the guy who hates his own country, his own fatherland, his own roots... I looked up patents: solarnavigator. net/images/patents_world_map_in_force_US_2000.jpg (Remove the space after net) So what? Is the rest of the world just scum to you?

Europes entire intellectual life, philosophy, mathematics, democracy etc is based on ancienct greece and ancienct rome. And look how many patents greece has. Isn't it funny?

  • @RedUnity

    I have arguments, knowledge &experience.

U have only eclectic data w/out analytic skills, argumentative mood &excess of testosterone. If I were consumed with hate, I would’ve not learnt so much after my 40.

Don't project your mind on me: I'm not lost scared silly puppy yelping in cyberspace. I disagreed with life there, immigrated to be productive &happy. It's not treason, but reason. As a baby, did I swear to place of my accidental birth?

    Tnx 4 link 2check out,

    Bye.. I mean it

  • @currishev Alright. Everybody has a right to his/her opinion. I didn't mean to upset or insult you. And when I'm did i'm sorry. So, bye.

  • He-he))

And I sympatise to Stalin, not in the last turn because in "that" time we didn't have bullshit like this.

  • @RedUnity just would like to point out that throughout Russian history of warfare they have always had an abnormally high death count for nearly every battle they've had.

  • @currishev You sure about this statement? The USSR overextended itself in countless ways war with Afghanistan, "Shock Therapy", and a crap ton of satellite nations to support. The real reason why the USSR "failed" was a coupe within the soviet government to overthrow Gorbachev and replace him with someone who is more communist, and during this coupe is when you see the fall of the USSR. The USSR also lost 12% of its tax revenue after an Anti-Alcohol campaign in the early 80s.

  • @Comanglia

the factors u mentioned are minor. But main is absence of normal economy, cynicism of those with power, apathy of the mob, corruption in all levels.. What u call "the real reason" is just a symptom or the last drop. Very low political culture of the Russians kept USSR agonizing for 2-3 dozen years (in 50-s CIA predicted USSR fall by mid 70-s). USSR was planetary adversity.

Btw, what my statement I shouldn't be sure of?

  • @currishev Several actually, the comparison of a economic ideology and a country, the fact that the USSR was engaged in a war near it downfall.

"Is in history another empire that big and that short lived?" I suggest you look up a guy by the name of Alexander the Great and what happened to his empire after he died.

Gorbachev's Shock therapy is really the number 1 reason why the soviet union isn't here today it's not minor in way shape or form.

  • @Comanglia

I repeat, young fellow, there are immediate trigger of death and the chronic disease actually causing the trigger (that is any stress on system) off. "Supper power" shouldn't crash from a local war on enemy's territory.

Bolsheviks had built USSR on basis of Russian Empire by changing all institutions and eliminating an opposition, replacing common sense in all areas with ideology. Alexander the Great was just conquering other countries. Analogy failed, ask your teacher.

  • lol and while the USSR was bitching about how everyone should be morose and wage war the rest of the world was having the time of their lives with new cultures, technology and music

  • @MrMeineNamen I like what you say because you actually get the idea that war is bad, and that pop culture is a much better alternative to boredom. I do agree though that people shouldn't be oblivious to their own countries problems.

  • ussr propoganda with british accent lol))))

  • Also , POP IS NOT = WITH ROCK ,dumb ``Comunist``

  • Propaganda will never work again , for ANARCHY ,for TRUE RIGHT TO SEE AND SPEECH , for NO GOVERNMENT SECRETS , for ENLIGHTENMENT , FOR FREEDOM!!!!!!!!

  • So now that there is no soviets to balance out the rampant commercialism.... I had no choice but to marry a pop tart.

  • This video is 100% right when in regards to the depravity of pop-culture obsessed people, a phenomenon that has only gotten worse since that era

  • @gerryono Absolutely right... but I still love the beatles.

  • In USSR, the sitution was quiet normal with the variety musics at all and with pop culture in particulary. Rock'nroll was a probem, it was regarded as too mixed up with the bourgeois culture(((

  • @gerryono So is obsession with pop culture a reason for oppression?

  • @beeecraft lol, if by oppression you are meaning the power aspect, clearly you know that communism is completely different from fascism ;D

  • @koolsmegel10 No, it isn't. All illusions of righteousness all invalid. All subjugation on the population is oppression. There are no exceptions based on ideological preference.

  • @koolsmegel10 Funny how you go to the defense of your ideological religion without thought. I never associated any ideological platform with oppression, but if you don't think forced labor camps are oppression, then you have been brainwashed. Hopefully one day you will see that oppression is not linked to ideology, but to human nature. And stop calling me lol.

  • @beeecraft Brainwashed? By the way you probably live in North America as well, I am not brainwashed. Though the American/Canadian governments try to give the idea that communism is this "bad" type of government and it should be put down. In actuality it's not, it wasn't forcing people into labor camps and other things, you had a choice. And by the way I wasn't calling you "Lol" stupid...

  • @koolsmegel10 Yes, brainwashed. You assume an attack on communism when I oppose oppression and you defend it with a passion. The USA is guilty as well, but that doesn't erase the gulags, polish oppression, the Berlin wall, the control of many countries in the East that were only given their independence recently (e.g. Kazakhstan, etc.) that were the responsibility of those in power in what happened to be a communist country.

  • @koolsmegel10 oh, and lol was a joke. It is a reference to the movie Airplane. "Surely you can't be serious?" "Yes, I am serious... and stop calling me Shirley."

  • Holy fuck the USSR was right!!

  • @jumpnjza2 WRONG! Dumbass, so people should ignore pop culture & Music? because of the bad things going on in the world?

Millions of Europeans did the SAME thing (enjoy music/popculture)

in the past & STILL DO Today!

  • @MetalHeart8787

    Sarcasm DUMBASS!

That's why my comment is the most popular.

  • It's a good job the Soviets had them all sussed!!

  • Similar propaganda films were made in every eastern bloc country, even in Czechoslovakia and East Germany

  • What a bullshit. Seriously guys, I would believe this narrator is russian, if his accent was not such american, like in all "voice of america" propaganda.

  • @ShitFromTransASS Dude, someone had to translate this from Russian. /facepalm

  • Looks like funsky!

  • Here in Canada, the documentary shown on CBC was 'How the Beatles Rocked The Kremlin' - very interesting. Stuff like this film just inspired the Russian kids to rebel even more so.

  • @GSTcheque I just watched that (it was on PBS - public broadcasting system - here in the states). Loved it.

  • where do you fin these hilarious old films earcandyfilms?

  • This is a clip from a BBC documentary called "Beatles in the USSR", which was first broadcast about a year ago. It's about the extraordinary ways that the Beatles' music was listened to in the Soviet Union during the 1960s. Rather interesting, isn't it? Search on Google for more info if you'd like.

  • I love how the documentary showed how they made their own Beatles records using old x-rays!
