some sundews curl around prey in a matter of seconds some tale longer and they curl around the prey until it stops moving then uses digestive enzymes to digest the prey the leaf then extracts the protiens and it reopens
that is amazing. I have never seen anything so fascinating. i would like to get one of those for my window sill. it would get lots of bugs and plenty of sunshine.
I just ordered 15 seeds (red).I have a fly problem, and I need to know how to grow these things. I need to know how big a pot I need, and how much soil! Thanks~
The growth of inner well cells are activated though emzimems . The glands are sensitive to touch. And sensesory cells line the outer tentical .Cells can olny grow in one way once .then they die .there are multi task cells either for expanding or contacting
I realy enjoyed the time lap's of the growth of the D,Capensis leaves ,,And capture shot's .The close up of the stalked gland's were facinating as well . Drosera's are facinating to observe .
now that is awsom

puddingdogjellogoby 2 years ago
It doesn't move very quickly. The bug will die, ind then the sundew will curl up and digest it. It would take about 1 day
NoahSzto 2 years ago 2
Some sundews don't curl only the tendrils do

Whats going on after 2:00 with that moving flying bugs in the translucent green pod?
imperialcrypt 2 years ago
Actually that's an Aldrovanda, i.e. 'waterwheel' plant. It's an aquatic carnivorous plant, sort of like a miniature underwater venus fly trap.

I own 4 D capensis red Typical . Amazingly takes 3 hours to envelope it's prey . And today the tenticals are now enclosing it .
