  • Thatcher needed the war more than Galtiere.

  • Mainsqueeze,

youre talking Poppycock.. (no offence sunshine, but you really are)

If you were born in 1977 ,as your nickname would imply , you will have been a mere five years old when these events took place, (just like any other 5 year old you believed anything that the big fat bully at nursery-school told you, then you... are forgiven... whats that? you were/are the big fat bully? oh well, in that case, theres no excuse...

  • What a knob Frost is - he always has been a crap TV presenter. He`s bricking is at 0.28.

  • A real leader doing a leaders job. How novel. She was the best we could ever have wished for and served us very, very well indeed. Just how much more weak and pathetic she makes the likes of gordon brown appear.

  • Regardless of what one thinks of Thatcher's other policies, especially towards the end of her term, she was right on the Falklands - Argentinian aggression had to be resisted to avoid encourage more of the same kind. And war ships are sunk and soldiers are killed in war, that's the nature of it. In a war (which neither she nor Britain had started) one has to be iron.

  • Marvellous. She would eat any man alive!

I just love the way Frost was all of a jitter, fiddling with his sock when she was going full throttle with the looks and the "I'm sorry, what did you say" HAHA!

  • at 0:25 i felt like belting maggie in the mouth.

  • Frost let the power go to his head after the nixon interview

  • Damn you mean Frost and his leftist hatchet teams were attacking her over sinking an enemy ship in a time of war.... THREE YEARS LATER! This doesnt bother me because Im conservative. Im not. I have socialist beliefs and I wish the left wasn't spoken for by asinine media whores like Frost.

  • I get so turned on by how she says those last few words, 'and I would do the same again' ... Phwoar.

  • @TheAqui1a

    so does David Cameron.

  • Very Mad person

  • Reagan was a gayboy - Thatcher is the real deal always has been - "I know it was right to sink her...and i would do the same again"......that's a straight an answer as you will get from a politician

  • The Falkland Islands are British fair and square. If the Argentinians give Argentina back to the Patagonian and Pampas Indians, then maybe we would do the same....

Anyway, the Belgrano was lawfully sunk under the conditions of war, the same as the HMS Shefield and the HMS Coventry. What wasn't lawful was the invasion of the Falklands. That was a political move to provoke national fervor, so as to distract the Argentinian public from the shit President Galtieri was guilty of.

  • "I'm sorry what did you say?"

Yeah, exactly: Thatcher was senile back in '85 already, bitch was senile when she got into office.

  • I have been surprised at the number of otherwise gentle, mild mannered women I have spoken to over ther years who say they would have gladly taken an axe to Margaret Thatcher.

  • I have been surprised at the number of otherwise gentle, mild mannered women I have spoken to over ther years who say they would have gladly taken an axe to Margaret Thatcher.

  • greatest PM of all time ! and Reagan was the Greatest president of his time and the greatest president was Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan and Theodore Roosevelt. All Republicans !

  • They would have been justified sinking every single ship in the Argentine Navy let alone the Belgrano. It was an enemy ship. It doesn't matter what direction it was going.

  • They would have been justified sinking every single ship in the Argentine Navy let alone the Belgrano. It was an enemy ship. It doesn't matter what direction it was going.

  • I miss this calibre of unapologetic patriots who tell it like it is, even if it offends the oversensitive.

  • is there oil near falkland,

if dont have give it back to the argentine lah,

or declared it a open island.

  • It WAS right to sink it. Blair tried to say the same about gulf war 2, but no. The only thing he will go down in history for is being a two faced lier who totally buggered the UK, then left Brown to pick up the pieces. (who made it all worse..!!.)

  • NOTE: The head of the Financial City state of London's name is Sir Evelyn Rothschild.

  • It does not matter whether you are ruled by tories or labour. Just as long as you British sleepers wont realize who is ruling you behind the scenes, you will see your country going down the drain and believing it was politicians ruling you.

    Hint:

"The best time for business is, when the blood is running in the streets". (M.A. Rothschild, 19th century)

"If my five sons did not want war, there would be none". (His mother, Gudula Rothschild)

  • Although I have no doubt that Pinochet was a nasty piece of work, he provided assistance to us during the Falklands conflict. What sort of precedent would it have set for us to then turn around and hang him out to dry? No other country would ever help us in the same situation again and Thatcher knew that. That's politics for you.

  • The poll tax sucked balls but she is a great woman. Only the most ardent loon would believe that sinking an enemy warship during a war is somehow 'wrong', but then most of the anti-Thatcher people I've met are loons anyway.

Some people act like the Belgrano was a civilian ship. It was a WARship and would have happily sunk all of our Navy if given the chance. I feel sorry for the young men that died, but rather theirs than ours.

  • @TrippleNipple72

    That is no excuse.

The UK slaughtered several hundred enemies, over islands which should be INDEPENDENT rather than slave for the UK Empire.

  • DONT VOTE TORY...!!!

  • @DontVoteTory -You show lots of the early 80's on your site but nothing of 1979 and why Tories came to power. WINTER OF DISCONTENT AND LOOK WHERE WE ARE AGAIN. DONT VOTE LABOUR. REMEMBER BROWN WOULD NOT GIVE YOU THE VOTE ON THE TREATY.

  • Britain's economy is in ruins once again thanks to Socialist control freaks. It's obvious they don't have a clue. The tories always seem to have to clean up their mess.

  • Remember it was that Government that took all credit controls away and tried to emulate USA making an economy look more bouyant with borrowing money flowing around. Whilst she did kill Trade Unions off , and gave all the power to Banks Cops and the top 5%, this Credit mess were in today couldn't have existed before 1979, then we were very cautios about credit, i am old enough to remember, to get a tv on credit you have to put down 10-20% when you signe dup1.

  • @ralliart2000 Yeah, Capitalism certainly, while necessary, creates boom and bust, and thus the economic crisis Britain is in. Yet we had such a crisis in the early 1990s and the Tories got us out of it relatively quickly. One of the reasons we're in so bad now is because of Brown's wasteful public spending and borrowing, which has racked up our huge deficit. To blame it all on capitalism is just madness.

  • Then don't vote !you could hardly vote lib dem or labour!

  • Do you have the full interview?

  • We do...

  • Anyone care to explain what would have happened had the belgrano decided to turn around an hour later and proceed to go for the task force?

Probably better at the bottom of the sea i reckon.

    It was war folks!!!

  • It was nothing but cowardice. She's nothing but a murderer.

  • @jeffreykins -ONLY IN BRITAIN WOULD SOMEONE NOT DEFEND THE ACTION OF THEIR OWN COUNTRY ATTACKING AN ENEMY SHIP. THE CAPTAIN OF THE BELGRANO ACTUALLY ADMITTED IT WAS THE RIGHT CHOICE IN 1994. HE INTENDED TO RETURN. WHATS A MATTER WITH ALL YOU YOUNGSTERS TODAY? WHERES YOUR PATRIOTISM? THEY INVADED AND ATTACKED. WHATS YOUR ANSWER? TEA CAKES AND A CHAT? THEY TRIED APPEASEMENT WITH HITLER. IT DOES NOT WORK AND NEVER WILL.THIS COUNTRY HAS HAD IT. SOLDIERS OF WW2 MUST BE TURNING IN THEIR GRAVE.

  • @ahughe32 soldiers of world war II were fighting right wing fascism.

  • @spodomaticfreeze and what were our navy fighting against?2 men in a boat?

What are you trying to say? We should not have sunk an enemy ship?

  • shoot em in the back as they sail away.. that's just not cricket.

  • I think she was and is mad actually. Look at how she began to address herself in the same way as the Queen - 'one is going to Brussels, one is working all night at Downing Street' etc etc. Power mad. As per the Spitting Image sketch, her war hero is Hitler not Churchill.

  • if it wasnt her britain would have ended up with an economy the same size as romanias...now thanks to new labor we will....

  • Re: Vortic

Have you seen the picture of her after her phony Falklands war posing dressed looking like a cross between Britannia & Lawrence of Arabia. It's hilarious & just to top it off she's got a pair of plastic grinding goggles on.

  • Thatcher, Reagan, Blair and Bush are set fair to burn for an eternity in their respective hell's chosen - as blood is thicker than water and so much more messier. These people are in the short term humanistic war criminals pursuing innocent death and destruction far, far and above that in quid-pro-quo of that which set them on their merry course! The searing hatred they have established will drive them into the grave and beyond - Shame on them - Shame on them!!

  • Comparing Reagan and Thatcher to Bush and Blair just demonstrates the complete ineptitude of your tiny intellect. There is a substantial difference between fighting for the freedoms and liberties of 300 million people sufferering under socialist rule, and embarking upon foreign military adventures based upon lies and deceit. Messers Bush and Blair were pusillanimous little boys, whereas Mrs Thatcher and Mr Reagan were giants. They defeated the Soviets not by containment, but aggresion.

  • i agree from TX

  • Re: Mickm

To suggest that Reagan & Thatch defeated communism is utter nonsense. Those that defeated communism were brave people like Lech Walesa. But nonetheless I am curious to see how you might justify suggesting it was as a consequence of the incredibly dumb Reagan & the megalomaniac Thatch. Yes, I really would like to hear that one!! Go for it.............

  • You're a stupid cunt. Even my leftist history professor admitted it was Reagan's policies that won the Cold War.

Did you get your welfare cheque paid in today?

  • Reagan won the Cold War.

  • @JuanMacready

Michael Gorbachev won it, really. So did the Citizens of east germany, when knocking down the walll, as without that the Soviet Union probably would have lasted 10 more years.

It's actually quite disrespectful to say a politician won it, when it was a peaceful people movement that brought it.

  • so how the hell are you able to afford a computer? milkris50?

    . <- a piece of your brain?

  • She is, and always will be a beautiful woman.

  • thank you you brought tears to my eyes its not eveyday you hear something like comeing from an Irishman

  • "I know it was right to sink her and I would do the same again".

I know there are a lot of men in England who could say this, but it took a woman.

  • What a wonderful woman! It's a pity we can't have another PM like her to put all these bleeding heart lefties back in their place.

  • she fairly well squirmed when Frost asked her a second time, she couldnt believe he asked her the first time and she couldnt answer, she needed to come up with some bullshit war retheroic and she did, well fair play to her she got a away with a war crime.

  • That ship only turned around because it's aircraft carrier was unable to launch an attack due to weather they were ordered to retreat till the weather improves for attack on Uk forces thats the words from the Belgrano captain. He was aware he could been sunk in the Argentinan harbour or the north pole or anywhere. All Thatcher did was defend people from a dictatorship.

  • Your dictatorship bit falls on its arse when considering some of the company she kept. General Pinochet anyone?

  • A Bitch sowcow,Has contempt for the working class, and it's the other way around. Guilty of war crimes, and neglect for the the poor of her own country.

  • How easy she seems to find the idea of killing 100's of people. Moreover, diplomatic pressure & sanctions could have resolved the Falklands issue but Thatch had an election to win. What a nasty individual she is. If she gets a state funeral I hope 1000's will go & show their disgust. She was simply too divisive to be even considered for such a thing.

  • This woman is a martyr and deserves to be worshiped for what she has done for Britain. If only she was head of state...

  • She was fucking crazy. Look at what she did to the northern parts of England. I was in Liverpool last year and the blame her for all their problems. People up there lost their jobs, and had their unions destroyed because of her.

  • it was your unions that destroyed your jobs moron! I am working class and it doersn't take a rocket scientist to realise that no company would want to open up and employ Marxists who would cause trouble and strike and think the world owes them a living. Had you all been less trouble and not so bone idle up in scum bag liverpool these factories etc would more likely be there today. Socialism did this damage on purpose as it destroyed our industry without droping a single bomb from the soviets

  • @pinickityme

I don't think sanctions would have done shit.

Galtieri was in the same position as Thatcher, once he invaded the Falklands he could have never backed down without being forced from power.

  • Margaret Thatcher scares the hell out of me more than Reagan does.

  • @PiterdeVries03 Reagan is dust. Thatcher will soon be. No need to fear either of them. Thatcher's brain has gone just as Reagan's did in about 1980.

  • the spanish and french and british interests are all the expansion of european power and exploitation of the americas....as is the history .......usa is us and so on

the dispute is an old spanish one which argentina inherited nothing to do with south america.......

strategic naval port of importance as world wars against germany.....battle of river plate etc........

belgrano was a threat in war......so attacked

    perceived military threat

    was a navy call

    get real everybody

  • Well said, glad some people live in the real world.

  • all the worlds current problems from the middle east to africa to latin america were caused buy european and now USA coloinialism

the "realists" and Capitalists will tell you these peoples were primitive and got advancements out of this. that's not true at all they may have been militarily less but culturally there was little differences some places were better. many had rifles like we did but not finance to wage the costly wars of the day.

  • plus the only reason casualties were so high was because the two destroyers escorting it fled instead of picking up survivors

  • not a thatcherite......but

the belgrano was a threat to our navy. as it was monitored of its course......therefore

in war .....she had to be confonted

outside the exclusion zone is irrelevant

    military decision....terrible as it is

no choice ....the argentinian navy knew it as well

  • From the lowest approval rating of her whole time in office >25% to over 60% in 4 months - of course she'd escalate an avoidable conflict again.

  • it wasnt really avoidable unless sovereignty was given to Argentina whichw ould have been awful. Would you like to be under the control of a ruthless dictatorship that murdered tens of thousands of its own people? i wouldnt

  • Actually in 1994 the Captain of the Belgrano admitted he had been zig zagging his course all morning and was planning to return so the right decision was made. I suppose you think the residents of Guantanamo bay are innocent and pose no risk? Just like Obama, a liberal do-gooder. Amazing when he got to power he has not closed it because they are too dangerous. You should be proud of the Country you live in and I would press the fire button every time if it saved our navy, RAF or army.

  • Actually in 1994 the Captain of the Belgrano admitted he was on a zig zag course and planned to return so the right decision was made. We were at war and I would otherise any force if it meant the safety of of our armed forces. You obviously think a cup of tea and a diplomacy works? They tried that with Hitler. Why is no one proud to support the Country they live in anymore?

  • nintendy-She did not come unstuck, we won. In 1994 the captain of the belgrano admitted he had been zig zagging all morning and planned to return. I suppose you would have signalled him for a cup of tea and a chat? She is angry because she cannot believe that liberal do-gooders like yourself would even question a decision made that was in the interest of our armed forces. If I thought 1 of our troops life could be saxed I would press the button every time.

  • I regard myself as a liberal, but i supported Thacther in the falklands War. Sometimes one has to realize that even if you are a liberal, a conservative can come up with a good policy or order, likewise, if you are conservative a liberal can make good policies and give realistic orders. This absolutism is what causes problems

  • Hear, hear!

  • Hear, Hear!

  • I really don`t know how David Frost has been on TV so much for so long.

  • Every navy captain asked for that ship to be sunk it was going to give those on the land hell. It was not Thatchers call as she knew it was a threat and the navy wanted it sunk its stupid to not let the navy do its job. She should of ordered the sinking of every argie navy ship.

  • what a nasty pices of work she was, seems she had the same sort of mental problems that gormless gordon has,why do we get such shitty powerhungry crooked lying warmongers for leaders.

  • what a stupid thing to say.......she was mental for saving a British territory from an invasion by a corrupted overseas government?? I am glad you are not the PM

  • It's not part of Britain though. It's the other side of the planet and close enough for Argentina to claim sovereign hold over.

  • Britain has a history of wanting what isn't theirs. Having said that this is why they were so powerful - they would go out of their way to defend this.

Having said that, it's english people that live there.

  • The Falklands IS part of the UK. The Falklands has been part of the UK before Argentina existed. You're talking about a time before some land masses were even countries. All countries in South America originated from the Spanish or the Portugese. Argentina gained independence from Spain. And, Falklands have the right to gain independence from the UK (but chose not to). But there is absolutely NO link between Falklands and Argentina.

  • Margret Thatcher, best friend of the killer Pinochet, lost completly in 2008. The Thatcherisme is dead with the economic crisis, and now we know that it was a wrong concept.

And Margret Thatcher will be in the hell ..... Ronald Reagan and the mass-murder Pinochet are waiting for her in the hell and Satan too

  • Horrible woman. It was the housewife during the 1983 election which totally destroyed Mrs T on the Belgrano sinking.

  • Diana Gould - the "housewife" you're speaking of - was very articulate in her questioning of the PM, but Thatcher was equally articulate in her response.

The Argentine Government in 1994 said that the sinking of the Belgrano was a "legal act of war". The Belgrano was on a tactical mission. The Argentines, those who were attacked, know the sinking to be legitimate. End of story. Thatcher was right all along.

  • People like you are scum. The Belgrano was the enemy it was sunk. I serve in the navy, you will never be in that position in your life. She was protecting our boys. Show some national pride you liberal do gooder.

  • Believe me, she realised the political significance of sinking the Belgrano before she even thought about the "protection" of our boys, if you want to call the sinking of a ship that was 40 years out of date protection that is. Should we be proud of the fact that Thatcher ordered the attack on a ship that had adhered to all the terms it was given once it entered the exclusion zone? Hindsight is NOT good enough, the information at the time did no merit an attack. You know it, so admit it

  • Its slightly rediculous that you are criticising the sinking of an enemy ship in a time of war. Bit more the slightly ridiculous in fact. Its sad but war is sad

  • It was the enemy true enough But Thatcher pulled navy presence away from the Falklands leaving them the oppurtunity to invade without serious opposition. The war could easily have been avoided. In my opinion she wanted the conflict to boost her ratings for the next election. At the time her popularity was very low. Most political commentators think she would have lost in 83 if not for the Falklands. I think she is a war criminal just like Blair. I served in Iraq on Telic and Telic 4.

  • England has ALWAYS supported genocidal dictators worldwide & even colluded with them! And always will! Nothing's changed!

  • Name one, genocidal dictator we have aided. You people come up with these sentiments but never produce facts.

  • Saddam Hussein. Robert mugabe, and the S African gvt of the 80s.

  • Idi Amin for one.

  • True. We helped Saddam.

  • evil zionist witch allowed nuclear secrets into the hands of the Israelis...she was even investigated by MI5 because she was so pro Israel...she is definately going to hell..she has so much blood on her hands, Palestine, Northern Ireland, the Falklands

  • Bless her. If only England had her now.

  • The most loved and hated of all PMs (of modern years) but at least she did what she believed and acted on her ideas

  • What would she do Privatise the NHS?

  • Frost was always a Leftie. The fact is, it would have been unthinkable to ignore the Belgrano. Ships zig-zag and change course. The heading at the time is not relevant. Galtieri sent the ship into harms way. Blame him and his genocidal junta.

  • No Thatcher spent her days looking for new & innovative ways to further rape Northern Ireland, give more arms & hardware to Turkey, despite all UN resolutions to the contrary & shocking mainland Europe in the process! She was right about Falklands, BUT, dead - fucken wrong & malicious about everything else, like suporting evil gangsters Pinochet & the like! She was very pig headed & terribly uneducated about history! No problems didnt come from mainland Europe! Britain did its OWN Imperialism!

  • Who cares what mainland Europe thinks about anything these days you guys couldn't be bothered to stop genocide in your own backyard.

The fact of the matter is that Europe tolerated genocidal dictators on the left and even helped install them with the help of the UN in Africa. They simply replaced European imprealism with Soviet.

  • What I know Mister Frost is that, yes, I wanted to continue the rape of Northern Ireland, 'cause Im an evil bitch! I even wanted to, & did so, supply Turkey with oodles of British military hardware with my blessings against ALL U.N. resolutions & shocking mainland Europe as well! But who cares! NATO is what means most to me! And to hell with all the gang-raped Assyrian Christians in Iraq, Kurds & Armenians! Yes Thatcher, you are a real piece of work!

  • Is that because you've lost your glasses?

  • Disagree with many of her policies, (destroying the unions went a little far) but you can tell merely by her prescence that she was easily one of the more capable political leaders ever.

  • It seems to me she never turned her back on a decision she made.. This and the hunger strike. At least she stands strong in her convictions. Gues I know why she was called the Iron Lady

  • she was to pig headed to change her mind even when she was wrong . pure evil she was and nothing more

  • I did not agree with all of her policy decisions but she is one formidable woman and was a strong leader!

  • maybe but she was evil

  • she's a fool

  • I think that the former captain of the Belgrano is on record as having said that, under the same circumstances, had he been in Thatcher's position, he would have ordered the sinking.

  • she's a goddess

  • you are a fool

  • "I'm sorry, what did you say...?"

    *shiver*

  • ... and watch the body language. Frost reaches for his socks like his mum ticking him off when he was six. Understandable.

  • He always does that, watch some of the old Frost Reports on here, he's been doing it since the 60's.

  • Wow, watching her perform today is an excercise in modern politics - never show weakness, never admit being in the wrong and always sound utterly convinced you are doing the right thing...

  • the difference is with her is she believed in what she was doing and she ment what she said

in modern politics this no longer exists

  • anonbg. Yeah. Just like Hitler and Stalin

  • war crime no matter what way u look at it

  • anti-british? do your homework!

  • What MT said to the interviwer.. " you must be bounkers?" wt it means?

  • crazy, mad etc

  • God bless PM Thatcher, one of the greatest pms in British history.

If you hate Thatcher, then you hate Britian.

  • I'm not sure i agree with that. Both my parents are patriotic, but they hated Thatcher

  • If you like Thatcher then you hate anyone who earns under £100,000 a year.

  • I like Thatcher, my whole family is working class.

    Proves your theory absolute rubbish.

  • Some working class think their upper middle class and identify with their oppressors- traitors all

  • it's called "false consciousness", in Marxist terms. You are a deluded fool, in other words.

  • I hated Thatcher and my whole family is working class too.

  • Although i believe she did an enormous amount of good for britain, she also made life incredibly difficult for some

'If you hate thatcher, you hate britain', is almost as idiotic as more patriotic americans responding to criticisms about their country with the classic line 'you must hate freedom'

  • haha, that 'you must hate freedom' thing is so true, its hilariously mindless and simplisitc. but Im afraid thatcher didnt do an enormous amount of good for britain. Im the first to admit the unions needed some serious 'pruning' of their powers, but thatcher went right ahead and destroyed them completely, with it taking away workers rights and british industry, thus leading us today to a nation with 'chav' culture and the underclass.

  • One of the most stupid comments on youtube. Who comes up with rubbish like that? 'If you hate Thatcher then you hate Britain'. What are like 12 years old?

  • Thatcher was anti-British. Any Briton who thinks Thatcher was good for Britain is a traitor.

  • BeeryUSA, the username says it all. A patronising, uninformed yank, telling us who we should hold in high regard. This coming from a country that not only elected George Bush, but also kept him in office for another 4 years.

  • we aren't all like that. i think we need a few leaders like margaret thatcher in america.

  • The only problem I have with this incident is that we let 2 other ships get away.

  • Really maramoto1? My only problem with the incident is she didn't declare a full scale invasion of Argentina and bring some British Imperialism to the shores of South America.

  • 100 years earlier and we might of...and you would have been better off for it!

  • tru say, you can always tell whether or not a country was developed by the british empire or not by the quality of life enjoyed there, excluding some african countries whos woes lay in their refusal to sustain british parliamentary traditions upon the imperial fallout

  • Her voice is quite sexy here.

I think the Falklands War 'came about' at a suspiciously good time for Maggie....

HOWEVER, with the Belgrano she had to make a quick decison in the heat of battle - it was unfair of people to criticise her with the benefit of hindsight.

What if the Belgrano had suddenly changed course & and fired at the British? She'd then have been lambasted for causing the deaths of hundreds of British sailors.

  • Exactly the sort of thoughtful answers we need more of on youtube here, not just spitting right wing/ left wing drivel without proper thought

  • 0.28 boring sod Frost craps himself WHAT DID YOU SAY? Look at him fiddling with his trousers. In retrospect probably the right decision was made although no violence in the first place would have been better

  • The Belgrano was a threat to the British fleet. It was armed with ship launched Exocet missiles, waiting for the Belgrano to get within missile range of the Task Force before making a decision if she was hostile or not would of been negligence of duty by the UK high command.

    The correct decision was made.

  • But the Belgrano was sailing away from the Task force when she was sunk.

  • I love the look on her face as she lectures Frost... she looks like she wants to literally eat him...

  • Very good Maggie.

  • Cdr. Wreford-Brown wasn't asking for conformation because he was in disbelief-Conqueror's radio mast wasn't working properly and it took two attempts to get the full signal detailing his orders/RoE changes

  • This woman has more balls than any man in office in the world.

  • hahaha exactly!

  • should never have been made prime minister

    and thats it

  • she was elected Prime Miister by the will of the people

  • not exactly, she was elected with 44% of the vote in 1979, 42% in 1983 and 42% in 1987. she was elected by the will of an unfair voting system. in each election, there were more votes for the left than the right, not exactly will of the people.

  • Which is still a majority of seats in the House of Commons and that's how the system works.

Don't like it? Bugger off to some boring European federal republic.

  • Well in that case the 'left' should organise themselves better. To give every party a proportional share of power is a recipie for paralasis.

  • This debate comes up every once and a while. All I would say is this - no electoral system is perfect!

I think that we have a sound electoral system in this country. It (usually) leads decisive majorities which in turn results in efficiant and sound government.

When I hear people banging on about 'fairness', just one thing comes to mind - soar loser!

  • Yeah. In a phony excuse for an electoral system in which 2 parties dominate... Hardly fair!!

  • The will of the English people not the Scottish people.

  • Not a brit. Love her.

  • hello everybody, i am deaf so can annybody write down what she said and then post it here?

    tnx

  • Thatcher: "Do you think, Mr Frost, that I spend my days prowling round the pigeon-holes of the Ministry of Defence, to look at the chart of each and every ship. If you do you must be bonkers."

    -----------------------------

Frost: "(garbled)...couldn't believe the orders could he? I mean when he'd sent the message in chains(?) direction and he asked for verification he couldn't believe it."

Thatcher: "I'm sorry, what did you say?"

    Frost: "Commander Rayford Brown(?) (continued)

  • demanded reconfirmation, did he not?"

Thatcher: "I do not... I know when we gave the order to sink and that is all... In the public domain. I know it was right to sink her and I would do the same again."

I hope that helps you out mate. =]

  • Thank you so much !

  • MT: Do you think, Mr. Frost, that I spend my days prowling round the pigeon holes of the Ministry of Defence, to look at the chart of each and every ship? If you do you must be bonkers.

DF: He couldn't believe the orders - when he sent the message the ship changed direction he asked for verification.
