@greekblonde No, plasma spray is a coating technique that uses an electric arc to ionize gas creating an intensely hot flame that transitions to 4th state of matter, plasma. Metallic powder or Ceramic powder is then injected into the plasma (held at 10,000 Deg C or 18,032 Deg F) which melts any material and then the moment it's injected it travels at subsonic to supersonic speeds (varying on nozzle inputs) onto a substrate. The power is rapidly solidified creating a durable coating
