What the heck happened to his fins?! I have a couple things to say: the first one is that he needs attention. Fix his fins! That is an open wound that could get infected and then kill your fish. Second, they grow to about 15 to 16 inches in aquariums so you'll probly need a bigger tank to house him correctly and comfortably. You sir, should do some research on this fish. I have mine in a 75 gallon and he still might get too big in there!
@nothingbettertodosoo guy i'm glad you have the confidence to attempt to tell me how to take care of my fish but you're mistaken if you think you're right. first of all, he was extremely healthy. he grew almost an inch a month...obviously not sick or malnurished in any way. i'm fully aware of how big they get. you don't need a 75G for this pleco. his fins just grew that way, not sure exactly why. could've been the fact that he was housed with african cichlids but not sick or injured in any way.
@nothingbettertodosoo and it doesn't even matter anyway because this fish was donated to my lfs because i was shutting down the tank so don't bother telling me anything else about it
@leatouchinue he grew mad fast, got it when it was probly about 2" and had it maybe 8 months...it leaves piles of shit everywhere tho so be prepared to see strings draped all over everything in ur tank
AMAZING Hi-fin mane. The setup looks great as well. What do you currently feed him? How big is the tank? Once again, great fish. Hope he lives long. 5* Keep it up.
@KingNeptune151 its a 45G hex tank. he's been eating everything from algae wafers, to bottom feeder wafers, to tropical pellets, to cichlid food from when he lived with some african cichlids...it's pretty crazy how fast he grew, from like 2" to 9" in like 8 months...thanks for the compliments...hopefully he does too
