  • Colt never put a transfer bar in a single action until the much-maligned Cowboy model.

  • I just purchased a Peacemaker 22/22mag. Gun in great shape aside from some minor scuffs marks on barrel. Does anyone know if Flitz polish would help remove those?

  • Good time of day. How much it costs and where to buy it?

  • I have the Colt Single Action Frontier Colt 22MAG, and it has the fluted cylinder, contrary to what the video said about the magnum cylinder not being fluted.

  • hi there...i have here a texas scout .22lr revolver,my father owns it...it looks pretty much he same as the frontier scout but not really sure...and i saw a engrave that it was made in germany... how can i confirm if its a colt?

  • Sootch I grew up in the 50s & 60sand I remember the cowboy craze and I wanted one of scouts in the late 60s but the money wasn't their.

    Thanks for the memory's.

    Joe-R

  • Nice,I'm still underage, but my grandfather has 1 and he told me that he would switch ownership of the Frontier to me on the same day i turn 18!

  • Would this be a good first pistol for a shooter?

  • Very informative video, quick question though : Is there any reason for specifically four clicks outside of spelling colt? Lol

  • Would you prefer the ruger single six or the colt?

  • I hate single action I will never own another one.

  • Uh... great review. Was the gun actually made by Colt, or was it produced in Italy for Colt? What do you mean by "alloy" on the grip frame.. is it pot metal?

    Thanks!

  • you tube needs to get rid of those ads in the viewing screen

  • love the shades in the middle of a winters day you love yourself dont ya you fanny, cheers

  • i had a bobcat no front sight

  • Any gun made by Colt is worth having. After a gun collection is not compleat without a Colt.

  • which single action rimfire do u like the most sootch, this or your single six, which one shoots better for ya?

  • ugh, another .22......not a big fan of .22lr or shorts......

  • @nunvikingsofthesea why not?

  • where can i get it and how much will it cost

  • I have a stainless buntline scout in a display box that came in a set with a since missing frontier scout, any idea where a good place to get more info is?

  • @furoshus You may want to contact Colt. There may be some good info about the set online. I do a lot of research using Google search and read the blogs and forums. You'll need to get a number of sources to assure there accurate. Good Luck~

  • @furoshus The man who wrote the book on these sweet little .22's is Don Wilkerson. The book is titled "Scouts, Peacemakers and Frontiers." I can't imagine any info you'd need on these that's not in this book. I'm sure you can find a new or used copy on Amazon.

  • I have one of these too and I love it!

  • have one. mine is either newer or older due to the fact i have adj. sights on mine and I can remove my cylinder via a spring loaded pin that you pull like on most revolvers.

  • lol i just got done firing one of those made in the 60's

  • I own this gun,it was my dads years ago, it is in great shape.where do I find out what it's worth.I have quite a few people that want to buy and don't know what to ask.

  • i have the same gun do you know where i can

buy some new grips for it?

also do you know where i can buy a .22 mag cylinder?

  • @skeezitzz Gunbroker. com is a great source to parts and unusual stuff. I also find parts and grips at gun shows. Good Luck~

  • Did he say 1957?

  • im getting one of these

  • I had the "New Frontier" and loved it. The only problem is that it kept breaking the main spring, the third time it broke I sold it.

  • i have the same gun its cool.

  • Great review! Gotta love the Old West!

Just wondering if you ever had, or shot, a Colt Python?

  • Can you make a review of a the 317 smith and wesson .22lr revolver PLEAAAAAASE.

  • Hi. we have this gun, a first addition and wondering what the value is. Do you know?

  • Great vid. great to see that you are a TNP supporter

  • how much do u think one of those would for today?

  • colt is the best revolver brand

  • Well presented...interesting.

    From Shropsire, UK BTW.

  • These are quick draw pistols thats why they have not to many safty clips on to stop shooting.

Nice video buddy ... well done love the guns ... I use to quick draw with my dad when I was a little boy.

  • Heitage makes one just like that. For $180.00 I have one with adjustable sights $230.00, very accurate. I hit a jackrabbit at 60 yards! probably a lucky shot.

  • that was really enjoyable i actually have a replica of one of those it shoots steel pellets its 40 years old

  • what do guns like this usually run?

  • Great video, I just bought a new unfired frontier scout from a estate auction. I cannot wait to get this little guy in my hands!

Thanks for the vid, it made my purchase easier.

  • GIMMI

  • Looks like a great little gun to shoot, I plan on purchasing the 6in. in the near future, if I can find a good one. If you don't mind me asking sootch00, how much did that scout put you back?

  • what does it mean that it is a magnum?

  • @tomcatdcn One cylinder is 22LR and the other is 22 magnum or 22WMR. It's a 22 rimfire cartridge that's longer and more powerful than the 22LR. Same ballistics as a 9mm. Thanks~

  • What ammo are you shooting? The only ammo I shoot that sounds like that are mini-mags. It sounds like a hot load it could also be stinger.Every round sounds louder than usual especially since I started shooting Eley target ammo

  • @Caretika I shoot a lot of Mini-Mags but these were Winchester Super X Power Points. Thanks~

  • I had one at one point in my life, but sold it : (

I recently picked up a Colt P1850 45LC 5.5". I'm waiting on my USFA Pre-War to come in.

  • that would be way cool if it cocked in all posistions-cool gun!

  • nothing sounds like a Colt when you pull the hammer.I just love that CCCRRunchh. If that wont get somebody's attention in a dark room nothing will.Well, maybe a Remington pump action...

  • Awesome little gun, great video!

  • Dagum .22 sounds louder than it should man. Pretty awesome pistol you got there.

  • That was my first pistol that I had ever purchased, when I was 18. I loved it! I had bought it at Kmart back in 1980!

  • I love the frontier. I have one that my Mom carried for years, and here in Nevada, for ccw you have to list semi autos individually, but only have to list one revolver to qualify to carry any revolver. Can you guess which one I used for revolver qualification? Keep up the educationand entertainment.-Will

  • Nice review! Just now notice the snow. Where is that?

  • @pyrosniperfreak Western North Carolina.... It;s global warming at it best. Lol! Thanks~

  • don't know if you have done it yet, but you should do a video on your collection. great video as always.

  • "the screw won't fit if your in too deep"

    That's what SHE said! :P

  • Thats a sweet gun. My friend has a similar Ruger 22lr. If you hold the trigger and slap the hammer, it shoots pretty fast. These 22lr revolvers are classic. A box of Federal, 550 rounds is only $15. In CA. Thats a lot of cheap fun. If your in CA, they are considering effecting 22lr with the hand gun ammo restriction(2/2011) AB-962. Buy your 22lr. in bulk to avoid the hand gun ammo registration scam. As of now a 18 yr old can buy 22lr in CA, that my change soon. The NRA is fighting to repeal 962

  • I swear, i wouldnt be surprised if i head this guys voice narrorating a program on the history channel lol!

  • revolver ocelot

  • Cool shades.

  • Exactly how many .22s do you own? :) Great review, as always. A pleasure to watch.

  • nice little 22 you got there!

  • awesome review. that's a sweet shooting pistol

  • I have one that looks just like that but it's made by H&R. 5/5

  • What a lovely little gun. : )

  • another great video, thanks sootch

  • I had one of those.What a story.Very nice vid as usual Don.5*s

  • You know your guns, sootch00. That colt is a beauty! Your vids are the best, man :)

  • I really love this model :)

  • Likey Likey !! I Like that colt !! 5stars !!

  • Good review Sootch! Nice looking Scout.

I wonder why they didn't just go with the spring/plunger release on the cyl pin. As far as I know, Colt invented it. Seems like this design is a throwback to the black powder frame (even though the screw on the bp frame was on the bottom).

  • Hey Sootch, do you have Italian roots?

  • @LongRangeRifle No, Scotch and a little Cherokee Indian.

  • @sootch00 Okay, cool. I was just wondering. That first shot when you're shooting with the watch and the sunglasses you looked kinda Italian. :p

Thanks for answering my question. Oh, and I can't wait to see you in a Nutnfancy shooting video, that would be so awesome!

  • Now I'm excited!

Guess them glock owners would think this work of art is too slow coming out the holster! lol.

  • Nice little gun!
