dude, i would always use the switch on my old mixer too because I had no cash to buy a new fader. I went through so many of those things man. Now I use the Vestax pmc 05.

@LifeAbsolute word. the 05 was the first good mixer i copped. been usin' it for years and my other alias is Roll Da 05 Pro..lol. had about 4 of them (a couple won from dj battles) then i copped my friends 07 and then recently got the rane.

I am curious, why do you reverse the fader like that?  I have a mixer that can do that, just haven't utilized it yet. Make MORE vids man, I am always checkin to see if you got new stuff out. how long have you been using the mpc 2000xl?

I have had my 2000xl for a bit over a year and I am lovin it, I want to get better at cataloging my material, my CF cards are not organized.

@LifeAbsolute well when i started around '94 me and my peoples used to cut on gemini mixers using the line or transformer switches mostly and they would cut in reverse. we were used to that so we would reverse the turntable rca's to opposite channels so the fader could cut like switch. it has nothing to do with cutting easier because you can do any scratch either way, it was just a preference.

@LifeAbsolute also a lot of people think we cut in reverse because of q-bert and the skratch piklz, but we didn't really get into them until '95 or so. but we were like, "damn, they cut like that too?" plus they were on some next level shit..lol. anyway, they helped popularize reverse (hamster) scratching so they added that feature in later mixer models. some cats can cut in reverse but cant mix, backspin or juggle like that. but i learned that way so that's why i do it. peace.

Clean Cuts Bro, this needs more views. I Hamster Scratch to and have a 57, Does your 57 Cut Further out on the right side than the left? Its hard to describe what i mean, like crab scratching is kinda hard cause i really have to flick the fader with my fingers or it wont bring bring the track back in right away theres like 1MM gap. I have it set to Fast on the contour.

@ruslanio yeah i'm right handed. when i was a kid i never really thought that using the crossfader would be so critical so i always air scratched with my right hand..LOL. plus the fader movements weren't as fast back then and my strong hand is my right so it made sense then that the right turntable would be my main. i can't scribble for shit on my left hand and that's the main scratch i wanted to learn back in the day..HA!
