i think CC made metal a lyrics a little better, they were one of the first to use really gory horror movie type lyrics, and i think its great, it shows that metal has alot of creativity both instrumentally and lyrically, i mean, you have to be really creative to talk about different ways of killing on more than a 100 songs, and the reason why theyre so good for me is the instrumental part of the music, it really fits the lyrics adn its heavy, fast and technical

they haven't done anything original. death was the first band to make lyrics that gory with their scream bloody gore album and metal isn't about how gory or hardcore you can be. unfortunately some people think that's what metal is about and we have cannibal corpse to thank for that. on top of that if it weren't for cannibal corpse we would have no deathcore. that sounds like a ludicrous statement at first, but it's true.

I will respectfully disagree. I recommend you listen to "They Deserve To Die" before calling Cannibal Corpse 'mallcore' or saying Corpsegrinder sounds generic. His scream at the end will blow your mind.

That being said, I prefer the Cannibal version of this song. The guitar tone is a lot beefier, and the vocals seem like they were made for Corpsegrinder to belt out. The original is a good song, one of Metallica's best, but it is trumped by the cover.
